  1. Man, all my best wishes wishes for your daughter and your family! It's good to hear some positive news, and this definitely is!
  2. Oh is it? Nyan Cats ftw! Wish I'd had been my idea, imo they're just brilliant.
  3. Also, just coming to my mind: a couple of days ago another fellow KSP player had almost the same issue after upgrading to 1.9, turned out, the graphics settings in the settings.cfg he had with his previous KSP weren't working with 1.9. Just give it a try and rename the settings.cfg to something else, KSP should then create a new settings.cfg and startup with minimal settings.
  4. Hey @Nigel J. Cardozo, your log says that there should be a crash.dmp A crash has been intercepted by the crash handler. For call stack and other details, see the latest crash report generated in: * C:/Users/WIN7~1/AppData/Local/Temp/Squad/Kerbal Space Program/Crashes I'd like to check it with a debugger, mind to upload it too?
  5. We've some many good, mindful people around here, It's incredible. Thanks guys, that's a big boost for me in these times of madness!
  6. True, @jost. Old me though, I am quite too lazy for that way of optimizing. Just put a ridiculous amount of dv into my rocket (who cares for costs anyway), and: launch
  7. Absolutely: yes! My little expeditions though reached Moho at a much steeper angle, hence that big amount of dv I needed. And: why not to go for a flyby? And send another rocket for orbiting and landing? Moho encounters are pretty frequently, compared to say Jool.
  8. I remember my "normal" Moho missions, from entering the SOI to a nice, low Moho circular equatorial orbit. The initial breaking took something between 2500 and 3000 m/s (don't ask me for the exact numbers, it's been a while, my old 1.7.3 career) to get into an Orbit (something between a low Moho and an edge-of-SOI orbit, let's call it medium orbit), I made two burns due to the long burn time, first burn some 2000 m/s just after entering SOI, second burn as usual at Pe. Followed by a burn to get into equatorial orbit, final burn to circularize (with the idea to have a good orbit for a later landing). By no means my trajectory was optimized for low dv, I was already happy to have a proper encounter I could work further from.
  9. I'd assume one should aim for a low Pe to maximize the Oberth effect. And if I read the community dv chart correctly, you'll need at least 760 m/s for an orbit to the edge of the SOI.
  10. That's quite a mod list, I give you that Pretty sure there are a couple of mods you're using that are not compatible / updated yet to 1.9.0, e.g. TexturesUnlimited 1.5.9.24 is listed as compatible with 1.8.1, not 1.9.0. Same with TextureReplacer v4.1, ReStock 1.0.3, etc. I suggest you check if all your mods are good for 1.9.0 Also, I did read a couple of times in the past that UI scalings not 100% often caused weird graphic anomalies.
  11. I suggest you follow these guidelines when asking here for help, many people here are happy to help, but without relevant information (logs, crash dumps), it's very difficult to do that.
  12. Well, I didn't bother to get 1.9 yet, why would I? The only interesting thing for me personally would be the new Kerbin textures, but then, most of the time my Kerbals spend either in Space or on other CBs. With all that issues reported, it's not worth it for me to upgrade any soon, in particular as several for me important mods aren't updated yet. So, I'm not in a hurry at all
  13. Agreed. I did also read about exploding Kerbals, Unity crashes when trying to start KSP which did not happen in earlier versions (not completely true, I remember an issue people had with AMD cards), and the Mun becoming an ice skating arena And after my Kerbals heard about their friends' heads exploding, they demanded to stay with 1.8.1 until this and other severe bugs are getting fixed.
  14. Well, you could add lamps to your vessel in the VAB before launching. Or use a mod that allows you to increase the ambient light, e.g.:
  15. You're welcome, I hope this helps to solve your problem
  16. I doubt it's Minimum Ambient Light 1.2.5.3 being the culprit here, I'm using this mod with this very version with KSP 1.8.1, works w/o any issue. As per your mod list, you're using, amongst other mods, Plant Shine, as far as I know, both mods are not compatible with each other, see here: "Conflicts with other mods that change ambient light, such as Ambient Light Adjustment and AmbientLightShifter"
  17. Glad to hear This might actually help others, what setting did you change/revert?
  18. Very low on information, that crash dump, pretty unusual. In particular, besides mono-2.0-bdwgc.dll, no other non-Windows DLLs are mentioned. Just that there was an "Access Violation", which usually is caused by a driver issue. But no driver even mentioned. Reluctantly I tend to say that this is not caused by your graphics driver. I see this in your output log: EVEManager: Issue loading ShadowManager! Error: System.InvalidOperationException: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object Your EVE version is compatible with your KSP version? Latest release of EVE is 1.8.0-2 as per https://github.com/WazWaz/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements/releases which is flagged as compatible with KSP 1.8.x Is it possible that you didn't check point one of the "How to get support" thread I mentioned earlier which reads "Make sure all your addons are up to date" ?
  19. If you have 16 or more GB of RAM; and the crashes are caused by the Garbage Collection, this mod can help:
  20. That's what I like most our little community: people care for each other, help each other
  21. True, yes. Never before there was, on a global scale, less poverty, less hunger, less death due to natural disasters, despite having so many people living. But tensions are growing, any discourse becomes more and more aggressive, people with different opinions don't try to find a compromise but are just shouting at each others. The fabric keeping a society together seems to have become very brittle. And then I see an alarming rise in martial rhetorics, the expenses for military are rising, regional wars, and the risk of a big, global war. We're definitely living in an age of big changes.
  22. You have a very good point here, @kerbiloid, yes, just two days ago I did read a very good article saying just this. Also, thanks to the internet, nowadays everyone can make his voice at least public, and often heard, connect with others who share the same sentiments. I like that a lot. The conclusion of that article was that the fractionation in politics as we see it today - no more just two or three big parties "representing" the people, but several small ones (at least here in Europe) - is the result of the technical advances which allow us to see the world in more depth and from different perspectives, plus being able to connect with other similar minded persons.
