  1. You're all heared about Elf On A Shelf but what about ApollOn A Proton? (Russian language pun intended) Yay I've finally got more RAM! Now to make more cursed monstrosities. Actually quite reasonable build. Managed to get skylab apollo into 140x140 orbit with 400 deltaV to spare. Used sloped tragectory. The same one used on a Saturn I/IB. Pitch start 100 m/s pitch rate 0.3. Jettisoned LES after 1st stage burnout.
  2. @blackrack Sorry for another ping but after doing that fix I've noticed some really bad "staircases" on models. Any idea how can this be fixed? I'm running medium setting in Scatterer with SMAA enabled because TAA causes tragectory lines blinking.
  3. Thank you very much! That helped! Sorry for wasting your time. I did my best trying to find the culprit and it led me here. It seems I was wrong this time. To be fair I tried my best. I've reduced number of mods from around 100 to this small list. I guess good 'ol KSP still have some tricks up its sleeve to ruin your experience.
  4. Hey guys. So recently I've decided to boot up my old KSP modpack with KSRSS and BDB and found out that my game lags as HELL on all planets with atmosphere. After running a few cleanroom tests with and without both KSRSS and visual mods I've managed to pinpoint the issue to combination of EVE and Scatterer. Here's my latest test config On this particular config I still have that massive lag. I decided to run AVP 'cause it always ran pretty well, even with 4k textures. Log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xTsfY2AlghevNOidVUe514yo3GeuBjn0/view?usp=share_link Yeah I've Alt+F4'ed the game. It's not the crash. Gamedata: I've got 16 GB's of RAM i7-7700 and rx 580 8gb and as I was saying it ran pretty well. In fact I've managed to run an enormous modpack with BDB Tantares and KSRSS on my poor PC and after loading it managed to run really good . Even had 60 FPS in flight while now lag is everywhere on boides with atmo. It stops being severe only when craft is (in Space High). No atmo bodies are perfect. I DO hope @blackrack sees this 'cause I'm kinda desparate.
  5. Just a note but there are two surveyor probe cores currently displaying on latest dev branch Also can anyone please specify what additional Voyager Mars Prop Module attachments are for?
  6. @GoldForestIt seems that those budget cuts are pretty servere! Well when there is not enough money to develop new upper stage why not just grab an old smallsat launcher and cram it as it is? I mean IT WORKS!
  7. Guys can you please share Juno 2 launch profile? Those Sergeant upper stages totally throw me off balance. How high the perapsis should be upon first stage burnout?
  8. How was it launched? Direct collision course or near miss to orbit at first than land? In times like these I wish there was proper orbital decay to for example get rid of Apollo Boilerplate which still orbits Earth after almost 6 years. Yeah I've been doing those launches myself just in the reverse order. Exploration probes first. Than Apollo stuff. Than my PC stopped feeling so good.
  9. Excuse me guys, but I've found something wierd on latest build of BDB. Search prompt Explorer. With RealNames
  10. It seems not enough time for 2nd stage to circularize. You should try adding more engines to the centaur. Or replacing it entirely with more powerful stage. @Blufor878You know why I consider this proposal an abomination? It is due to literal insanity of it in terms of engineering. Those 1st stages are essentially clustered tanks NOT designed to carry any lateral force. Which is exactly what you did. Which is exactly what I proposed
  11. How does Voyager Mars compare to Viking landers? I've got the feeling that the lander itself is actually smaller then viking.
  12. yup. Three F1's are too normal I think… I wonder how good delta 1st stage tanks would be as a side boosters if we slap F1 on it…
  13. @GoldForest I have an amazing idea for another cursed rocket but my PC does not feel well so here's one for the taking. . . Saturn I block I thrust augmented. A family of rockets with SRBs instead of fins. And a heavy version with 3 cores. Use SIVb as the 2ndstage and SIV as the 3rd. Heavy can run Centaur as 4th stage. Ultimate old hardware reuse.
  14. All of the Saturn familiy in my opinion are amazing. They are pinnacle of Von Braun's designs and were TERRIBLY underutilized. If STS was never considered OR cancelled (Like in ETS) we've had an amazing family of rockets with huge legacy that easily rivals Atlas and Delta. Just imagine all of these missions which can be launched atop saturn rockets. STS never having Centaur upper stage IMO gutted Shuttle's capiabilitiy in terms of deep space missions. How NASA have been struggling in 00's to reuse STS' technology just to cut price in terms of infrastrucutre actually is kinda funny. You know, they got rid of all of the Apollo hardware, which can easily been reused and now, after 50 years that bit them in the back HARD.
  15. Unfortunatelly all of this stuff is planned further down the roadmap. So far we are supposed to recive quite barebones game. Only core of it. So while devs get all stuff figured out we will enjoy those volumetrics.
  16. When I was a kid I strapped together crayons of different diamenters before showing it to mom and telling her that I made a rocket. Unfortuantelly my crayon-rocket-scientist career came to a complete stop after amazing aerodynamics of my latest creation crashed into the chandelier and made it crash right onto my head. But the dream lived on. Thank you for honoring my childhood memories with this abomination. Burn it with fusion fire.
  17. Well this is THE Kerbal Engineering. It seems that Boeing outsourced dual payload adapter to Kerbals. You forgot to stick Jeb's junkyard logo somwere on those fairings. What are this grid-finy things at the end of this stage near the engine?
