  1. Given it’s the can and landing gear, I’m thinking it’s more “here is what you need to land on the Mun “properly””
  2. Return from Eve before you go Interstellar… Deb Deb would never be explored. I guess, it’s just “odd” that one science mode is an action when the rest are not.
  3. Would not surprise me if a Jool 5 mission is all it takes… My thinking: Kerbin Flight Biome Scans Minmus and Mun Landing Craft One Way Eve mission with a Rover Duna Touch and go for samples etc. Jool 5 - Orbits and maybe return? if that doesn’t do it then yeah, you’ll have to have more direct missions for landing exploring etc. im assuming there will be additional parts released in For Science! For all those different ranked tiers or you’ll have a lot of empty slots.
  4. I don’t mind specific missions for bonus science but if they stage-gate things like “must land on Mun” that will irk me. that’s an interesting question, I think you will be able to max out the tech tree with Kerbol missions, I expect some people will do a speed run when 0.2 is released (assuming it’s not buggy), even I’m tempted to live stream such a feat.
  5. So my question is this... What if I don't want to land on the Mun (ala "Mun Landing" top Right under "3"?) Is that unlocked by landing on the mun or does that give you something you need to land on the Mun? I ask as I can land on the mun with the starting parts if I really wanted too... and I didn't see any mention of limits on VAB / Launchpad like we had in KSP1 which needed to be upgraded over time, I don't see indication of that here either. I'm also wondering how much science you get for collecting science around Kerbin as in KSP1 its not hard to play it smart and unlock like 90-100 science in your first few launches.
  6. Some bug hunting (basically seeing if 0.1.4 bugs still happened in 0.1.5).
  7. I can see a hot-fix for the AMD folks, as they are having very significant issues, and maybe for Conics if they figure it out... but I don't expect any real update between 0.1.5 and 0.2 at this point except for those hotfixes IF they figure out why they are happening. I've now submitted 4 bug reports on 0.1.5 so case & point.
  8. Reported Version: v0.1.5 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win10 | CPU: 5800x | GPU: 3070 | RAM: 64 Landed on Mun and then used an ascent capsule to return to Kerbin, didn't have a conicals the whole way back but I did on the trip out. This marks the 2nd bug of the trip (first was another loose of radially attached boosters and stabilizers which I added to my other bug report as repeatibility proof). Here is a video of the mun lift-off and return to show the missing conics, its happened a few times in 0.1.4 and eailer and this is my 5th mission in 0.1.5 (first really off the planet/orbit though as I was doing that rover challenge prior). 9. Stabilizers fell off mid-launch... also one of the 8 boosters was left on the pad (these boosters do HAVE side seperators, the big ones). Thing is the wings all fell off at the same time so its like there is an invisable "wall" parts are hitting that causes them to come off. PS. This is a totally different rocket, it just looks "similar".
  10. My take-away is this, "FOR SCIENCE" is 100% marketing driven for the Christmas holidays. If they didn't release SOMETHING they would get almost no sales as anyone who googles KSP2 right now is going to see the *&#^%@ unless they are watching the 3 big youtubers who get early access to "For science!". <rant> So they will have ~1.5 months of positive press before it drops and we find out how many bugs and broken things exist, cause who doesn't like livestreaming KSP2 and having it crash on them??? But at least you the viewer see the game for what it is unabriged without quick-saves to hide all the issues. </rant> I'm confident that 0.2.0 will be better than 0.1.# but I worry that its a marketing "need" than programmer "choice" and the whole thing could unravel to 0.2.5 ??? where they get it "working" to a point that things like sample return from Duna relies on player skill and not "how good is your computer to run this game and not break?". Also I just completed the Rover race challange and had to use some large panels to keep the rover from "hoping" too much on the flat surface that it either slides off the runway at 100m/s+ speeds or the smaller rover, bounce/fly. So Rovers are doable but compared to KSP1... significant design considerations need to be made.
  11. Reported Version: v0.1.5 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win10 | CPU: 5800X | GPU: 3070 | RAM: 64 You can see it happen in this video as I turn the final corner, I deploy the chutes but when I use action 2 (cut & repack - so I can use them again) they stick out oddly before dissapearing. https://youtu.be/zjbSYLD5cSU?t=125 100% repeatable. 12. Here is my entry, this was as fast as I could get a rover to go and maintain stability and on the track.
  13. Reported Version: v0.1.4.1 | Mods: See Video, a Lot of Mods | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win10 | CPU: 5800X | GPU: 3070 | RAM: 64 Testing a bunch of mods (yeah I know) and it crashed at the end (and then I closed the stream). KSP2 crashes from time to time with/without mods but this time it was caught in a recording. Included Attachments: .ipsImage { width: 900px !important; }
  14. Reported Version: v0.1.5 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win10 | CPU: 5800X | GPU: 3070 | RAM: 64 Parts keep failing to attach to craft radially on launch (particularly boosters and fuel tanks on launchpads and runways) or falling off (particularly landing gear when deployed/retracted) when activated. This has continued in 0.1.5. It happens pretty regularity that it impeeds missions. In the past I've tried struts (so many struts) and other mechanisms to hold parts laterially to the rocket but unless its a seperator, sticking to the core is not garenteed. 15. Sent a Rescue craft for Valentina in Orbit only to realize 2/3rds of the way there her orbit is clockwise (vs. counter clockwise of the rescue vessel). Now doing a dV calc to determine if I have the dV to correct the trajectory or fly back to Kerbin and relaunch to the left...
  16. There is talk that 5000's series cards won't pop up until 2025 so you'll have quite a wait. I understand 3070 @ 4K is pushing it, I can run games a lower resolution if required to get decent framerates for now. My main desire for the 4K monitor is more for my video work (my OTHER youtube channel focuses on Photography/Videography where 4K is the norm). But playing games on a larger monitor is a bonus as well, especially given how "generous" KSP2 is with screen realestate compared to KSP1, more pixels would be better.
  17. Overall Really Excited about "For Science!" and it looks like a soild update from what we have today (and the last 9-10 months once its out). Although I'm still not a fan of how its sounds science is handled (non-repeating and push-here-for-science) take of KSP1... but I guess that's what mods are for. I'd rather of seen something more kerbalism/biome-altitude/depth dependant with repeatable science (with exponentially reducing gains, but never "0"). Agreed, I would like to see more science parts for different tasks. 9 feels "too little" and none of them are overally "big". Telescopes, ScanNet etc. are such great mods for KSP. All this looks amazinly cool. Agreed, a lot opportunity if that ends up not being the case. Thinking ahead to interstellar and custom solar systems, a system like this would make sense in terms of finding & tracking new worlds / systems. Yes in Kerbol a bit "silly" since we know it so well, but once your off to Deb Deb ect, its new territory. 100%
  18. Small Upgrade recently... CPU: AMD Ryan 9 5800X GPU: Zotac GeForce RTX 3070 MOBO: ASUS TUF X570 RAM: 16x4 G.Skill TridentZ M.2 Drives: SAMSUNG PRO SSDs (Gaming Drives) Mouse: Ducky Feather Lightweight Gaming Mouse Keyboard: Razen Deathstalker (V1) Monitor: 24" ASUS ProArt Everything is "stock" as I haven't had a chance to see about OC with the new set-up (make sure it works first lol). I'm thinking my next upgrade may be a larger 4K monitor... thoughts/recommendations? Maybe a upgraded Keyboard as well...
  19. I mean when you think about it, that REALLY is the way space exploration should go... probe/rover first, kerbal/manned mission second.
  20. Guess I need to buy a pumkin... (we didn't grow any this year ourselves). Oh and get the dremil, going to do this "kerbal" style
  21. It would be cool, basically when you take a photo it pauses the game, processes the photo, and then once done it kicks the game back up again. I'm kind of hoping this is something the devs include so its super seemless.
  22. Neat, is this stable with time-warp, re-entry etc? or is it really for space repair and replace operations only?
  23. Excited to see this and hopefully it gets released in all its glory!
