  1. Hi all, If you've been paying attention around these parts over the past weeks, you might have seen us making a few changes to this subforum. This has been a part of our initiative to overhaul our bug reporting process and to centralize these reports on the forum. Below is a changelog for this subforum to help you all keep track of the changes being made and the reasoning behind them: ---- Changelog: - Added Bug Reports archive for pre-v.0.1.2 reports. Some reports may be pulled out of the archive if still relevant, but the majority will remain untouched. - Added recommended tags/prefixes: Hard Crash, Construction, Environments, Flight & Map, FX & Audio, Performance, Parts & Stock Vessels, Saving & Loading, Tutorials, UI & UX, and Other. These categories will greatly assist internal bug tracking, but also helping players find relevant threads to what they may be experiencing. - We've added a new Member Role: Bug Hunters. These are hand-picked members of our community who have contributed heavily to bug reports thus far. These members are given a special title, as well as permission to help us organize this subforum - including archiving, merging, adding tags/prefixes, and highlighting messages as solutions. Our first Bug Hunter is our very own @Anth12- who I've been working closely with since I started making these changes. ---- There's more planned, but there are some technical roadblocks for now that we're working on getting past, so I can't share anything past the above for now. But rest assured, we're working diligently to improve this workflow to ensure we get the best information we can and you all are able to stay up-to-date on bugfix progress. If you have any questions or suggestions on how to improve this subforum from a user standpoint or to make it easier to submit your own bug reports, feel free to reply to this thread. Thanks, Dakota
  2. I'll answer this one: yes. We really enjoyed the last ones and we want to keep doing them. We're looking at a new more approachable format for some of our comms, and the AMAs would most likely appear that way compared to just doing them on Discord again. No timeline, but we have a list of team members ready-to-go - so expect one sooner rather than later.

  6. I just didn't see your additional context until after I posted! And nah - I appreciate your kind words towards the team. Members of the community like yourself have been pretty clear about their disappointment so far, and (speaking for myself) it's somewhat cathartic to see we're slowly improving sentiment. Maybe not changing minds, but building trust and bringing people back into the fold. Still work to be done, but feels good!

  11. It's important to note how much the team is focused on staying true to "KSP = game about rockets." Shana mentioned this a few times, but new additions/features/parts will extend functionality and gameplay in that area - not replace it. As Shana said, if a player wants to get to Duna, they shouldn't have to do 30min of colony overhead before getting started, which is why automation will play a factor in the colonies/exploration milestones. There's plenty of amazing colony management games out there (personally my favorite is Rimworld), but we want to stay true to KSP and focus on building some cool rockets.

As KSP has many parts that arent exact recreations of real rocket parts, or are future technologies that dont exist yet, determining what stats like thrust and specific impulse should be sounds a lot more involved than just looking it up on google. Could you give an overview of the process the team uses to determine the stats for, say, a metallic hydrogen engine? (pschlik, Discord) Are new planets scale more scientifically accurate or have you kept the 1/6th size for gameplay reasons? (Spicat, Discord) Will there be any additional things to do or challenges on planets? Like wildlife, exploring cave systems, weather, etc? (/u/thehomelessman0, Reddit) Will there be more incentive to going to other planets in the future? Like special resources or things like the mun arch? (iwantbread, Discord) Will previous science parts from KSP1 be in KSP2? If resources aren't the catalyst for exploration, how else do plan on motivating exploration? Will we be able to collect gasses from an atmosphere as part of the resource harvesting system? It can look something like: 1) Resource extractor building mines a raw resource, 2) Resource refinery building makes a useable material out of it, 3) Assembly (Acid_Burn9, Discord) With interstellar technologies and travel on the roadmap, is relativity a thing in KSP2? Will KSP2 handle time dilation effects when traveling at high velocities to the target star system? (Angelo Kerman, Forum) What new fuel types will be available throughout early access, and will different biomes on planets yield different fuel types? (PleySU, Discord) Considering recent events, will we be getting more parts based off Starship, such as gridfins? And what about telescopic landing legs like Falcon 9?   14. I believe I got this fixed. Had to do some css overrides in the theme backend, which was more difficult than I thought. Should be readable in both themes now. Feel free to follow-up some syntax highlighting is still messed up. Thanks for the ping @bigyihsuan

  16. While members of the team are continuing to squash bugs and tackle performance issues, we're also fully focused on our first milestone: Science. We hope to have more to share on the milestone's features and development in the future.

  18. Try fully exiting Steam and relaunching it. That usually triggers the updater.
  19. We've seen the issue a few times from a few other users and the workaround I mentioned above should work.
  20. You could also try changing the LanguageKey line in the settings.json file to "en". The bug is with the privacy policy in Russian, but once it's accepted you should be able to play the game normally in the Russian localization.
