  1. Your poll should have the "both" option. We still need the old system, sometimes fairings can be used for aesthetic: Some parts of these craft were made with empty fairings. (No comment on the common theme of these pictures) I would love to have this feature has an addition, like adding a button next to the buttons we have right now.
  2. I can see some issues with this solution, for example, fairings sometimes are just used to make beautiful craft (with empty fairings). Also, I disagree, I like the new system, it lets you make more accurate movements (In theory), while moving around the ship. It just needs some tweak to make it feels better, like for instance the arrow doesn't follow the mouse well, it's slower as if there was a max speed. And there is an annoying bug where the "preview" fairing isn't exactly what you have at the end when you click to confirm it. But if those get fixed, I'm sure the system is as viable and enjoyable than ksp1 fairings.
  3. Those are mostly from one mod: blackrack's clouds, it's quite different for non-atmospheric bodies. They already stated that they wanted to improve "clouds, atmosphere and water", I think that will come with the implementation of HDRP (So it will take a while obviously). That's definitely not the priority and I can understand that. Graphics is for me one of the most important feature to let me want to explore, ksp2 is not quite there yet even if for instance the topology are miles better, it's killed by some weird lighting.
  4. Yes, it's still planned this week, I was just saying that Dakota is in vacation right now.
  5. The only mention of something similar to "we killed the kraken" on their Twitter account was because of a website bug:
  6. Console versions are planned for after 1.0, which for now correspond to Multiplayer update release. We do not know when this will be out but most people think that it will take years (like 2-5years).
  7. I know, that's why I said "when they started development", DOTS is a solution to that but was released much later.
  8. Terrain generation would be on the GPU side, so the task will obviously be parallelized because that's what the GPU is good at. In my comprehension, physics of the craft are dependent of each other and that's why multithreading was difficult or next to impossible when they started development. Unity DOTS seems to be a wonderful thing (I don't actually know much about it) but it was shown in 2018 for the first time and only fully released 3 months ago so that's maybe why they didn't use that yet. I don't know how much time that would take to overhaul their physics system with that though, it might be not worth it currently.
  9. Since when? Citation needed because DOTS is production ready (at least from official statement) since a few months ago only.
  10. Wasn't that implied by "performance issue"? Performance issue means loss of fps.
  11. Dakota said that he plays on the candidate build which is what the patch corresponds to. So it’s relevant.
  12. From now on every two weeks we get those status updates. Which were essentially what we had with the weekly post. Post from Nate will also return, we will have some news this week (in addition to the KERB), so wait and see this Friday. Apparently, if you’re on discord it corresponds to the #dev_trackers channel.
  13. Reported Version: v0.1.3.2 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Windows 10 | CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 | RAM: 16GB If you do the following: Attach a part (A) radially Attach another part (B) to that radially attached part (A) Then change the root part to B The parts will disconnect when launching and then disappear when reverting to the vab. Included Attachments: testvabcorruption.json Video evidence: 2023-08-0501-41-20.mp4
  14. You should change the title because it concerns probably all languages and has been there since release. (I saw that some youtubers were confused by that, especially beginners)
  15. Reported Version: v0.1.3.2 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Windows 10 | CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 | RAM: 16GB Observed: The camera speed is affected by which pole (north/south) you're looking at: In the Tracking Station or in the Map View The closer to the North pole you are, the more the camera speed is high and vice versa when you move close to the South pole, the camera speed get closer to 0. Expected: In ksp1 the movement speed was unaffected by the position. (See the videos) Camera movements in ksp2: camera_movement_ksp2.mp4 Camera movements in ksp1: camera_movement_ksp1.mp4
  16. The concept is explained here: Single agency play (where you can build a rocket at the same time) and multi-agencies play (4 agencies of 4 people max) And yes, in the first AMA they described that interaction in multiplayer will be a thing, same goes with collision:
  17. Reported Version: v0.1.3.2 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Windows 10 | CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 | RAM: 16GB When I deploy landing legs a certain amount of forces applies to my craft. I haven't tried to replicate it but it happens to me a lot. The save file is what corresponding to the video. It was an Apollo style mission so maybe the docking that happened before might be a cause. Included Attachments: 2023-07-3123-44-47.mp4 bugphantomforces.json quicksave_18.json
  18. Based on your previous message, 5 millions correspond to every estimation: SteamSpy: between 2 and 5 millions Playtracker: between 5.58 and 6.82 (10% interval mentionned on the website) SteamDB: as you said between 4 and 10 million. So between 2 and 10 millions, where do you see that "every estimate is dead wrong"? Even 4 millions would be correct by considering 1 million on console. The most important question remains, why would they lie by lowering the numbers?
  19. How is that changing anything to how much copies ksp were sold?? They know the numbers. 2 millions copies back in 2017 when they were bought Following this trend, 5 millions make sense, why would they even lie?? If they want to charm investors, they have every reason to pump those numbers up. I know that the current community argument is to say that everything devs said are lies but here it's not some promises, it would be Take2 lying to investors, and still it makes no sense to lie about those numbers even more by lowering them. (And legally it might be very bad)
  20. Do you really think they will downplay how much copies they sold?? They have absolutely no reasons to show a lower sales than what they did, that makes no sense.
  21. Where did you get that amount? The only official statement about this indicate 5 million copies sold: https://www.privatedivision.com/2023/02/24/kerbal-space-program-2-launches-in-early-access-today/#:~:text=The original Kerbal Space Program, than 5 million units worldwide.
