  5. Willow, i can remember that someone made a part which jettisoned the fuel. (You'll have to look for that though, i can't remember in what thread it was). Alternatively, you could create such part by modifying the part.cfg of an existing rocket/rcs engine. Modify the fuel consumption rate to something very high and make the thrust equal to zero. That should empty your tank very fast.

  7. Frankly, i'm having mixed feelings about your suggestion. I disagree with you that the aim of the KGSS is naming geographic features. It is just one of the things the KGSS does. It also collects exographic data. (One of the posts in the KGSS f.i. has an attachment with over 1Gb of data). On the other hand creating a detailed map of the planetary bodies with photographs is something i would like to be done. (how and at what resolution etc. is beyond me). My suggestion is to combine your efforts with those of the KGSS (make it a sub-departement of the KGSS?), talk to the creator of the KGSS about how and what and what structure would be the most afvantageous to all. It will at least prevent doing some things twice. (Sorry if i rained on your parade)

  9. I certainly would like to see this integrated. The further the planet/moon will be, the more use it will be to KSP users. Of course those will be reachable with a lot of fuel and boosters but with a gravity assist the craft doesn't need to be humongeous. And it will add an extra element to the game.
  10. Like you, i have a preference for automated craft/probes. My solution was to copy the ringshaped Mechjebs to a different directory. I renamed the parts to MyMechJeb-1 and -2. I then modified the part.cfg. I altered the name and i changed the module to 'module = MuMechJebPod'. The ringshaoed MechJeb then function just like the real mechjebpods. However you loose the animation of the part. As the creator said: "Those parts were never ment to be used like that".

  12. I've been thinking the same thing. In my opinion the gravity assist will become quite important as soon as more planets and moons are added to KSP, especially for the distant ones. The autom8te option in Mechjeb probably can be used for setting the trajectory.
  13. I;ve had the same experience as CrashnBurn, however in my case it occurred several times when i used the time compression. The somewhat heavier Mechjeb pod didn't have the same problem.

  15. The explanation was very clear and understandable. The only thing i still don't get is the julian date in the x and y-axis. In the x-axis i see five times 2.4536 and two times 2.4537 (times 10^6), in the Y-axis there are also multiple occurences of the same value. Why is that and what julian date is 2453600?

  18. Here is the craft file of the craft with the DR arms and hinges. I'm using version 1.2.1 of DR with the newest MuMechLib.dll (version 1.9) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/47942810/SS-1d.craft I previously forgot to post the link. Wait until you've completed your turn to examine it.
  19. I had four arms attached with hinges. Every 9 or 10 seconds the arms (hinges ) swung violently forward and backward, dampening out untill a steady state was reached and the arms were again at right angles to the craft. After a few seconds the whole process started again. I've read some comments about the same behaviour in an other thread (without a solution being offered). I don't know what causes it and afaik no new version of DA has been posted. Because i don't know what causes it, i can't guestimate the consequences for other users. Therefor i have removed the mod from the Mod Community Base, spoken against using it and added the camera mod. Sign me up for a new flight, please.

  21. If you put the 'dynamite' on a rocket engine and stage in space no explosion occurs, the stage just vanishes.
  22. First of all thank you for this mod. I like it! The only thing i don't like so much is the shape. Although the sticks of dynamite make it absolutely clear what kind of purpose the part has, i would have preferred something more in the shape of a mine or a package of C4 with a timer. Unprotected dynamite at the side of a rocket doesn't really appeal to me (mind you, the 3D model in itself is quite well done).
