Sort of a silly question, but I haven't played KSP 2 yet and I really want to know if Billy-Bobfred is a kerbal name. Thanks
-
I recommend this mod to anyone who wants to spice up their KSP experience without having any noticable performance drops 10/10

Odyssey to the Stars: An Interstellar Quest
Cosmic Sailor replied to Cosmic Sailor's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
The Second Part of the Previous Part: Part Two: Electric Boogaloo The Zelsby tug's RCS pulls the Bilfred docking segment away, leaving room for the next module Launch of the Vervin Fuel Module This module contains extra fuel to keep the mission within reasonable Delta-V margins. Here is the giant ship awaiting launch. The vernier engines ignite first, starting the main ignition sequence The main engines ignite, lifting the Vervin into the air The craft starts its gravity turn The second stage fires to insert the craft into a stable orbit The third and final stage fires briefly, placing the Vervin into a stable Kerbin orbit The craft is aligned for docking Aaaanndd docked! Now all we need to do before the big mission is reattach the docking module and bring some crew up there! Redocking of the docking module is complete! The Zelsby tug deorbits itself and burns up in the atmosphere As I said in the previous part, the next post will have the crew docking. If you have any thoughts, feel free to comment them down below. Thanks for reading! -
Odyssey to the Stars: An Interstellar Quest
Cosmic Sailor replied to Cosmic Sailor's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
It's been a month?! Where does the time go... Well anyway, I'm back, this time with Restock and Waterfall. I am going to be launching a few craft. I first want to swap the docking module with another fuel module, and then I will launch a crew of seven to the station in the next post. Without further ado, I present to thee the launch of the Zelsby Tug This tug will pull the docking module away and later attach it to the new fuel module. Here is the rocket waiting on the pad. Blasting off the pad, multiple engineers weep because of just how unaerodynamic(?) it is The rocket reaches the upper atmosphere and begins to turn to the side The rocket is in space and is finishing off it's orbital insertion burn The craft prepares for docking... Docking is complete! Okay, I will need to split this post into two because I'd better go to sleep, but the second half will be released within 24 hours! Feel free to share any thoughts in the comments, and see you later. -

Sorry, I haven't used Github much before, but is this correct? -
[WIP] Buran Orbiter Construction Kit
Cosmic Sailor replied to hugoraider's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure how to install it from the Extras folder (Every guide that I've seen on how to install something from Github says to go to the releases) -
[WIP] Buran Orbiter Construction Kit
Cosmic Sailor replied to hugoraider's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
A quick question, how do you install the WIP Buran from SOCK's Github? It's not included in the release version on the side -
Just wondering, does this mod support the community tech tree or any other tech trees?

[1.12.5] CRE - Stockalike British Rocketry [2.2][02/03/2021]
Cosmic Sailor replied to Beale's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
When this showed up during the KSP loading screen, the yellow message above read: "Cutting Funding" -
Even with my absolute potato PC, I'm itching to redownload this mod. The Soyuz is even better than when I last played Tantares! Great job! Oh yeah, I only now spotted your other mods from your signature and now I feel I should punish my PC a bit

Kerbal Lawnchair Program
Cosmic Sailor replied to Cosmic Sailor's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
You are allowed to offset the launch clamps as much as you like because only the final co-ordinates will count -
Okay, basically the title. If we wanted to export He3 from the moon to the Earth for example, then why would we need humans for anything? Mission control could run the colony, maybe with a powerful AI as a backup, and it could be entirely crewed with robots. It would be cheaper than bringing massive life support systems, which would really help further in the solar system.

(Theory) For Science! will release the 17th december 2023
Cosmic Sailor replied to Sans's topic in KSP2 Discussion
So 17th was actually close, but two days off. -
If people are debating over which space at the bottom is the most important and can't be covered up, can't we just put the navball at the top? All of the bottom space would be empty then, and it would make seeing the rocket at the bottom easier. Can't say much about visibility at the top though...

Odyssey to the Stars: An Interstellar Quest
Cosmic Sailor replied to Cosmic Sailor's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Hello, just wanted to say that I'm posting tomorrow. I've been sidetracked by... errrr.... another project let's just say. If you really want to see it then here it is. I write all of the scripts. https://www.youtube.com/@LegendOfTheBlocks/featured Edit: Mods, feel free to take this post down if you think it's self-promotion, I'm just showing them what I've been doing. -
Kerbal Lawn Chair Program After a mishap around Duna, your space program's budget has been slashed. A lot. In fact, it was slashed so much that you can no longer afford any rocket or jet engines. The only parts that your agency could refurbish with their new budget are wings, a Chromebook and launch clamps. Oh yeah, and also an old lawn chair from Jeb's backyard. Goal: The goal of this challenge is to see how far you can make it away from the launch pad with only a few low tech parts. You might want to remember what you can do with the lawn chair's PAW . You will have to show a picture of your co-ordinates. You can get your co-ordinates through looking at the map view or by using mods. Whoever tries this challenge will be put on the leaderboard and may add a badge to their signature when I get round to making them. The KSC's co-ordinates are 0° 5' 50" S and 74° 33' 28". Rules: 1. Only parts allowed are the lawn chair, launch clamps, Probodyne OKTO and any wings. Jetpack and kerbal parachutes are allowed. Make sure to keep your craft stock. 2. Your craft must stay beneath 3500 3. Share your craft's cost and mass at launch and co-ordinates when landed. Pictures would be appreciated. 4. Please launch east towards the ocean, it makes it easier to judge who wins. 4. No Alt-F12 or kraken. Pretty self-explanatory. 4. Don't cheat, keep it fun for everyone . I won't be recreating your craft step by step to see if it works, so just stick to the honor system. Leaderboard 1. 2. 3.

Odyssey to the Stars: An Interstellar Quest
Cosmic Sailor replied to Cosmic Sailor's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
1. RTGs, they're inside the J.E.B.E.D.I.A.H. engine. The Bilfred Docking section has solar panels but those were just to power it during during orbit and rendezvous. 2. It's called the Mergard after my first kerbal to go to Duna (I'm glad I still have have that save, it's useful now ). The name's at the top of the previous post. -
Yes, that does work
