We won't really know until he tastes her noms bourguignon, will we? Thanks! Ah, you missed me by a bit, we're going to NYC at the end of the week. Yes, the other Intrepid is on our list of sights Hopefully if Bill can synthesize ethanol from ore, Bob can grow caspaicin in a greenhouse...but come to think of it, given that the greenhouses are directly between the main bank of LV-Ns and the fission reactors, any peppers they grow there will be pretty "hot" regardless.

+1 for 'venomous'. I hate when people get that one wrong -
Ah, I do appreciate when others do the troping for me Yay! But I think any additional rover needs to be smaller still--the space I'm working in is under the Jooldiver probes, in forward Q bay. Well, you're the Mad rocket scientist, not I... Well, let's take a look then! If it looks like I'm having way too much fun with this, it's because I am having way too much fun with this

I think I could still fit it in the Intrepid's hangar No really not, it's a huge beautiful SSTO and I really hope it works for the return! -

Nice! You're halfway done--wishing you 'happy landings' /NOTSTARHAWK -
Aha! Well, if it's good enough for Kate Mulgrew it's good enough for me Hey, command discipline in this comic is going to relate to real-life pretty much the same way physics does--that is, enough structure to play with but not quite real. There's always Quadhammer, of course. In addition I have room for a small one in forward Q bay, I haven't designed one yet to go there but I probably will.

Ha haa! Well if it's good enough for Kate Mulgrew it's good enough for me. Quadhammer is a rover (sort of), and there is a spot in forward Q bay for a small one. I haven't made on yet but will probably throw something together. Yeah, ultimately I need to fall on this being only mildly military--and game command discipline:real life discipline as game physics:real life. That is, just enough to be fun, and hope my attempts don't annoy the actual soldiers, sailors, airkerbs and marines around here too much.

Aargh. Might have to retreat to Starfleet usage on this. Pretty sure Picard calls Data 'Helm' sometimes. If that fails, I suppose she could always just call him 'Dilsby'

Whoops! Thanks, G, you're right of course I should have said 'helm'. I meant helm, really I did, but I was too caught up in pasting screenshots and making rocket noises with my mouth. Will correct

Bwahahaaaa! Continuing... Yes! Took about forty minutes of real time. There's 2800 dV left in the tanks and I even have a few tons of oxidant left over to run the vernor RCS system. Now we'll get all the life support systems spooled up and prep the hangar deck--Skimmeroo is next.

Never too late, as long as the new panels are the same part as the old But if not, no worry--we have something to look forward to for the next ship! Don't tell anyone, but I sort of cheated to make a "pressurized" compartment. There's a value in the Texture Replacer config file @Default.cfg to let you change the minimum pressure at which kerbs can wear their IVA suits. I just set mine to zero: // Minimum air pressure required for Kerbals to wear their IVA suits on EVA. atmSuitPressure = 0 So yes, they could certainly jump out a hatch in their IVA suits and float in vacuum happily... I just won't do that Awesome. The background music here was the "metal" version of the KSP theme and a selection of Irish jigs that Kuzz Jr. had on shuffle.

Well, maybe that wasn't the only available bottle of 'Valve Click-O" bubblyzine available. He most likely started in on that stuff right after Wernher gave him the 3MM figure Ermmmm... no, not exactly. The five crew you see on the bridge are the only ones on Intrepid at present. Jeb and Melbe are running to the Skimmeroo because they'll launch in that and join Intrepid in orbit. The rest will come up in the other landers and support craft. I thought about making a mobile gantry for Val and the others to get onto the bridge, but then said "You know, enough is enough," shot the rest of the scenes, recovered everyone, rolled out again and T Z spacebar. A George Takei reference indeed, so yes

Thanks! 2615t on the pad, 506 parts, 1.6M kerbucks. No, I have not seen an actual ceremony. Very interesting that the crew sprints aboard--we do it the opposite way in Kerbfleet, of course. Jeb and Melbe were actually running off the pad, towards the SPH and out of the blast zone Thank you! Wow, the wing-kraken! That seems a long time ago. Well, like the Admiral said, we don't know what waits for them in Jool SOI, but if the kraken does strike--or the space beet--at least we have three engineers aboard to spam F5!

Bill v Bill. Gravity flaws. An interactive story. {Latest: Part 4}
Mister Dilsby replied to Tw1's topic in KSP Fan Works
This is more than just truth or lie: if he tells people the secret, it will destroy what's left of his ability to understand it all. If he actually needs to build this portal at all, he has to keep it a secret.- 79 replies

Oh, me too! Very amusing to be working on a patent and having, say, @Just Jim's evil invader face pop up on my desktop And amazingly, six of them are enough to hold up 2615 tons of ship and boosters! He's probably just working on a comic, it's OK as long as he yells "Go!" at the correct time. Oh yes, fairly I might have to get it in orbit next to Micarooni Station or Kranefly, for scale. That is, unless I can find a banana somewhere. Where does @Vanamonde keep them? It's really, really fun, and it's going to make telling this story a lot easier. Plus, Val can yell awesome Picard stuff like "on screen!" "magnify!" And if anyone makes a replicator, she can have hot drinks delivered to her by a dashing young enzin! So I did not in fact break out the "bubblyzine", but I am enjoying a nice beverage while I watch Kuzz Jr. build ridiculous craft on the other PC. His lastt one had four Goliath jet engines, with a command seat on each, a launch escape system and NO wings... he claims it will be a "fully armed and operational party barge"

Let's do this. The crew in the group shot are, from left to right, Sarjint Sarge, Enzin Nimzo, Looty Lisa, Jr. Looty Kenlie, Kaptin Tedus, Captin Val, Comder Dislby, Sous-Leuti Clauselle, Lt Comder Bill, Lt. Comder Bob, Lt Kernel Jeb and Jr Looty Melbe. And while the game never crashed during any flight of the Intrepid, having fourteen kerbs on the pad under it crashed just about every time. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get those shots--I'm glad I won't need to do that again for a while! And once again I'd like to thank @Angel-125 for that amazing bridge viewscreen. It works great, and it adds so much to the "bridge playset" experience. I'm going to nominate it for Modding Monday and I'd like to invite you all to do the same Next up, we'll see if I really can get this thing to orbit! Whoooo!

Space Race: KOSMO v KASE (Chapters 6 up)
Mister Dilsby replied to loch.ness's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Of course you can, I'd be honored! I wonder who would write them in your 'verse... and how they'd explain Kenlie's fiction-within a fiction-within-a-fiction...especially the part that isn't fiction. -
What? Oh, no. Did I say that somewhere? Sorry. FULLY fueled is quite a lot of fuel, as you might imagine. I think we'll be a few hundred tons short of that But it should have more than enough LF in the tanks to make Minmus intercept and orbit. To land, I'll need to replenish oxidant--can do that with Ore Piggy drones from the Flats mining station.

Great stuff! Love the whole "base in an awesome transport plane" concept, and superb execution including documentation of both human and machine errors. 9/10, would base again.... Junior has played with the OPM parts and loves them, but we did find it makes our install crash-prone.

I haven't fully plotted out what happens if/when the Kerbulans see that ship, but to their mind it would indeed look like a weapon--and a bigger one than and they've seen or could build themselves, bristling with pointy-tipped rockets and carrying a not-insignificant amount of enriched uranium. It's open to speculation exactly what they would do, but you're right they would definitely categorize it as a threat. Actually it's not that bad--even on the slower of my two computers the time decompression is 1/8 or better, in atmosphere. Twice as fast if I switch to map view I did take great care to minimize part count and secure all wobbly bits--looks like so far it's paid off! Made a few little tweaks today, and I think with that done KSS Intrepid Version 1.0.4 is really ready to go. (Numbering coincidence noted ) Changes from 1.0 include: fixed L-dock mount for the new, shorter Quadhammer Mk3 addition of a set of aerospikes on the belly following Minmus landing test tripled the radiators on H-pod for the 12xLV-Ns mounted there..no problem with the other 12, as they are at the ends of very long fuel tanks. hard-mounted the engineering section: decided it was too much trouble to assemble in orbit. Confirmed I can still get there even with the additional 15 tons (and 4 more tons for the ventral aerospikes!) Still working out who goes up with what piece--thinking Val, Dislby, Bill and Clauselle will go up with Intrepid herself. Sarge will take Nimzo and Lisa in the Quadhammer. Jeb drives the Skimmeroo, with Melbe in the passenger seat. That leaves Tedus, Kenlie and Bob to come up with the Gumdrop landers and the various probes. If I play this right, I should be able to get everything docked, assembled and away to Minmus without a tanker flight. I'll be sure to keep a running total of funds and framerate, for those interested
