  1. Additional reasons the capsules were not re-used: This was the first (and so far only) time a crewed ship had gone as far as lunar orbit. The capsules would have been studied to see how they responded to radiation and micrometeorites. The craft were designed and built over a period of years, so I believe the last one was already made before the first one came back. The cost of the capsule, even if fully recovered, would only have been a tiny fraction of building a new rocket, since the rest of the ship was discarded during the flight. It would not have been much of a savings.
  2. You've put an awful lot of work into this, and it is turning out nicely.
  3. Moved to the subforum for player-made vids.

  5. Modding question moved to the modding subforum.
  6. I do not see Gaarst's avatar, and I have noticed several others recently. @ManeTI, could you look into this?
  7. The Concorde is not the topic of this thread, guys. No need to argue about it.
  8. Well, looks like this thread has run its course. Time to lock it up.
  9. Please keep posts in English, outside of the international subforums.
  10. This question about how to play the game has been moved to Gameplay Questions.
  11. Hit ctrl-X to cancel any trim you may have inadvertently set, and make sure your joystick is centered. Those are the two most common causes on this sort of thing in flight. If it's happening while on the ground, the weight of the craft may be causing it to sag and flex to the point that the gear is no longer vertical to the ground.
  12. Due to popular demand (actually, one person), I have updated my old concept of a trainer which delivers two orbiters to space so that players can practice docking without having to fly a rendezvous first. The Mark 131 is a single stage to orbit launch vehicle which delivers two orbiters to a 80-90km orbit. Once in orbit, open the cargo bay and undock the orbiters and practice docking them to each other or to the mothership. The mothership is equipped with lights to assist in dark conditions. The two orbiters will return their pilots to Kerbin for recovery, but the mothership is not made to return. NOTES: Be sure to put pilots in the capsules before launch. Also, docking and undocking the orbiters scrambles their staging sequence, so be sure to reset it before staging. Craft file from Kerbal X: https://kerbalx.com/Vanamonde/M131-Docking-Trainer
  13. Modding question moved to the modding subforum.
  14. This exchange of spacecraft (for such it will turn out to be) has been moved to Spacecraft Exchange.
  15. Thread moved to Kerbal Network, since it's not about the game itself.
  16. Modding question moved to the modding subforum.
  17. Does clawing something count as docking for the purposes of a contract? You may have a problem there whether the claw works or not.
  18. The mediafire link from the original post has been removed, since our forum has had some trouble with that service.
  19. Sorry, no. The fuel lines can only be placed during ship construction in the assembly buildings.
  20. Thread moved to the modding subsection, because it's about modding.
  21. Although about the game, there is enough math in this discussion to warrant placement in the Science subforum. And so, moved.
  22. Game-type thread moved to the game-type subforum. Carry on.
