Orbeth effect: how much does it matter?

With regard to some removed posts, either comment on the subject of the thread or skip to the next one. There's no point in being unpleasant to each other. -
Nope, we're not getting into creationism, intelligent design, or any other religion or anti-religion discussion on this forum.

Since there are several threads of this sort now, we've had to make a policy decision so that they will be handled consistently. From now on, if you're working on a joint project which doesn't involve offering craft files to non-members (because those belong in Rocket Builders), the thread should go here, in Forum Games. Please feel free to continue the thread/project in this new home.

Did you hear about Jeb's, Bill's and Bob's new band?
Vanamonde replied to GeneCash's topic in Forum Games!
If you're going to make a game out of song titles (which isn't a bad idea, actually), do it in the Games sub-forum. Oh wait, the thread's already been moved here. -
Could you be more specific? What happens when you try to click on a new tech? Do you have any mods installed? Meanwhile, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum, Maya Fey. But I'm afraid I don't follow your question. What is the issue you're having?

I'm sorry LABHOUSE, but I don't know what you're trying to say. Could you clarify, please? -
Maiden/Test flight of KSS-13, Intrepid
Vanamonde replied to Vanamonde's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
In-game? Big ships steer slowly, but there's rarely a need to hurry outside of launches and landings. As a game? It was 359 parts with the full cargo embarked, and was a little slow but not jerky on my mid-range PC. I'm quite happy about the optimization they've been doing in the last couple of versions. -
Guys, if you're not interested in the subject of a thread, just skip to the next one. There's no need to be critical about it.

Yes you should. Hello, and welcome to the forum.

Welcome back, OUScooby.

Glad you liked it, demian_travis. Incidentally, the S-13 doesn't have struts because I was limiting the parts I used to tiers 0-3 so that as many players as possible could use it, even if they take other paths through the tech tree after that.

Does anyone else build space stations like i do?
Vanamonde replied to Bearsh's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I very much enjoy the process of rendezvous and docking ships together to create larger structures. All my stations are built out of modules which can be re-arranged. -
Nice work. (Also, moved to mission reports.)

Showoff your big huge ISS and Space stations!
Vanamonde replied to Bearsh's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is not a bad idea for a thread. In fact, that's why somebody already made one. Bearsh, why don't you take some screenshots of your stations and post them there? -
So I'm revising my re-useable interplanetary ship designs to take advantage of ARM parts. This is the new long-range version, the M111 Migration class, on the launchpad. (Note the Kerbal, for scale.) Now named KSS-13 Intrepid, I flew the ship to orbit, refueled it with a couple of robotanker flights, loaded it up with a test payload, and set out for Eeloo. Once in orbit, the ship deployed 4 science/mapping satellites, two automated rovers, and then the crewed lander. The lander then returned to the ship, and was left in orbit for future use (or would have been, except I forgot to install a probe core, so it's a ghost ship now), and Intrepid set out for Kerbin. After a couple of aerobraking passes, the ship settled into a parking orbit. But the mission wasn't over yet, because the most important step was last, and that was the return of the new M113 SPaRM, Science Processing and Recovery Module. Throughout the voyage, the science points generated by the instruments and lander had been collected and stored in the SPaRM. When it landed, all the science was recovered for a result of 3370.3 science points. Intrepid waits in orbit to be refueled and sent out once more.
