  1. It's a bug that comes up every now and then, and not just with mods. I had a lander on Duna whose coordinates (hovering with the mouse in map view) were something like so-and-so north and 500 degrees west.
  2. Set their deployment altitudes in sets so that they don't all open at once, distributing the shock. It's similar to the function that drogues perform.
  3. The suggestions whole sub-forum seemed like a better place for this suggestion.
  4. Hello Mr. Kimball. Still looking for the one-armed man?
  5. The wiki has a list of all the "biomes," or separate places in which science can be collected: http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Biomes. (Hmm, it seems to leave out "high above the sun" and "space near the sun.") Not every science instrument is useful in every biome, though. For example, the thermometer gathers no science unless you are near a world.
  6. Attach the science instruments to the plane with a decoupler, and kick them off *after* you've landed (so they don't disappear after getting more than 2.25kms from the plane).
  7. Pics of the ship would probably help. In the SPH, with the COM/COL markers showing.
  8. True, but please keep in mind that we're not all native English-speakers here, either. But yes, Hayhaa, a more detailed description of the issue you're having would be helpful.
  9. There are already several teachers using KSP in the classroom. You can email the creating company, Squad, about it at this address: info@kerbalspaceprogram.com, and there's a project just for this purpose, which can find here. Good luck with it. As for the issues you mention: the current version of career mode is preliminary, as the game is still under development, so its already planned to be revised. I haven't run into that ctrl-Z problem myself, but you might try looking in the bug reports sub-forum for help. And there might be a mod you'd like to help with timing planetary flights. Welcome to the game, and the forum.
  10. Hello. I also play stock-only. Don't be afraid to download the new version, though. You can copy the files of your ships and saves into the folders of the new version, and pick right up where you left off. (That's not the case for every update, but for most.)
  11. Since this is a how-to sort of a question, it has been moved to the gameplay questions sub-forum.
  12. Your English is fine, and despite claiming to not be very experienced, so is your piloting/shipbuilding. The whole Jool system with one probe? How many points was that worth?
  13. I don't have all your answers, but since nobody has given you a better reply yet, here's what I have: 1) The Kerbals' stats will affect their ability to perform missions later in game development, but right now only affect their expressions. 2) Still working that out myself. 3) Not at the moment. 4) One of the several wheel types and a source of electricity to power the wheels, but again, I haven't explored the current tech tree to tell you exactly where the wheels are. 5) I don't know if there's a current one floating around yet.
  14. Do you mean that you don't even have the Mk1 pod? Any mods installed? Maybe try downloading the game again?
  15. To get from where you are to where you want to be, just add up the numbers in between. The order doesn't matter, except for landings/launches from worlds with atmospheres, where landing is dirt cheap and takeoffs are expensive.
  16. Hey drwolf. Haven't seen you around for a while. How about some closeups of the lander? Is it stock?
  17. As "contaptions" go, that's really not that bad. It didn't blow up on the pad, and collected some science. I've seen worse.
  18. Hello Kaethorin. In case you haven't already noticed, there's a whole sub-forum devoted to player videos. Have fun showing off your vids there.
  19. Does this mean that it is... Hammer time?
  20. Folks, given that the resources discussion has already resulted in a great deal of commotion and bad feelings, please don't give out false information on the subject, even as a well-intended joke. Thank you.
  21. Guys, even the OP has now asked everyone to keep the discussion to his debris question. So, let's please do that before warnings are required. Thank you.
  22. I almost never use them. I find that if the ship is under thrust, spent radial stages fall mostly straight back (from the ship's perspective), and the only problem is if they rotate quickly enough to bring one end around to collide with the ship. But as I said, that happens so rarely that it's almost never a problem.
