  1. A law which cannot be enforced diminishes respect for the law. I am abstaining until a better case is made for this statute.
  2. That boom up front is quite a bit of mass to start swinging and then stop it where you want it to be. Try putting some control surfaces on it, for one thing. And/or, make your turns in smaller steps so that it doesn't build up as much momentum.
  3. To whom would this treaty apply (everyone?), and how would you enforce it?
  4. What does the ship look like? Also, moving this to gameplay questions, since it's about ship designing advice.
  5. I'm sorry, but I still don't understand what you're trying to do. There isn't an anti-patcher which will change the version of your game to an older one, if that's what you mean.
  6. Without a lot of engines? Just make longer burns with the engines you do have. What kind of payload are we talking about?
  7. What do you mean by "go back"? You could always start a new game in an older version, but you'll have problems trying to carry over ship designs or save files to older versions.
  8. That explanation doesn't hold together. In combat, a bad habit only lasts until you meet somebody who doesn't have that habit, then he kills you, and everybody else drops that bad habit instantly or dies. In other words, pilots who kept flying as if they were in atmo would be sitting ducks for pilots who knew how to use their ships in space, and nobody would train or allow their pilots to follow those bad habits.
  9. Since you seem to have figured it out since this was posted, this thread no longer seems necessary.
  10. Hello GnastyNate. I don't see your album. Try following these instructions.
  11. Please, let's not turn this into another pro-/anti-Mechjeb argument. The subject of the thread is your first docking.
  12. Building small is its own kind of challenge. For example, this is the smallest thing I have ever flown to orbit.
  13. There is always an invisible line between the camera and the craft's center of mass. Hold the right mouse button to rotate the camera's position while looking straight down this line. Hold the middle mouse button to alter the camera's angle to that line within a limited arc (the COM can never be off-screen).
  14. You can open them and lock them, but only until the next time you transmit, and then it will still close itself once finished.
  15. A big ship is not going to be very maneuverable no matter what you do with it. The trick is to be patient and move it slowly.
  16. Improving the transmission rate is only one of the lab's functions. After you perform an experiment, you can clean the instrument and use the green clipboard button to store the science in the lab. Then take the instruments to another biome, use the cleaned instrument to perform another experiment, and store that result in the lab. Etc. Storage is the lab's biggest advantage.

    Hello

Hello Pauly. I very much enjoy posting ships for others to use. If you use Mediafire.com, it tells you how many times your ship has been downloaded.
  18. That's KSC2. It's an easter egg, a significant distance to the west and slightly north of KSC.
  19. A Korean war movie, The Bridges at Toko-Ri, was also a SW influence. Fighters flew down a canyon to try to hit a small target.
  20. Yep, I can see your pic now. Good luck with Tylo.
  21. There's another current thread on this same subject, so let's merge the two for the sake of tidiness, eh?
  22. You spoiled kids with your docking rings! In my day, there wasn't anything to do after you rendezvoused but take screenshots and go home. That was my first. It took about 4 hours, but by the time they added docking parts, bringing the ships together those last few meters was easy.
  23. There's a Kerbal subreddit which is pretty active. I don't like the format, but I sometimes poke around there.
  24. There is a mistaken assumption in the poll question. Only the SRBs are "boosters," while the liquid fuel devices are called "engines" for a reason. Liquids get you places, while SRBs can only give a boost here and there.
