I'm going to use that very singular double-positive that equates to a negative (ahem!): "Yeah, Yeah"! I have been a member of several forums which were third-party hosted, and which died because the hosts went for profit over service. The potential evils are: metered bandwidth so forums go offline any time they get too much traffic, no maintenance so forums break and don't get mended for days, irregular backups so when forums break they revert to an earlier, even more broken state, and inadequate server capacity so even when everything else works, the forums are unresponsive. If what you have been told is true then (pending info on who the third-party host is) I quake in my boots.

I can't tell if @Kevin_kerman is being gullible or (more likely) taking the joke-chain one step too far.

If it was Jeb, he'd have 10 times more rep than that! @Valentina KermanGood to hear from you! Best wishes for the upgrade, these things can be... painful. I speak as one who has been a bystander, witness and survivor of many a forum upgrade crash!

Sounds like an installation issue. It couldn't hurt to post your logs!

KSP? -
I remember that episode. It appeared that the cockpit capsule had some RCS - just enough to undock from an Eagle and dock onto an exploration craft with compatible fittings! My headcanon is that the capsule has RCS in the depressions at its port, starboard, zenith and nadir. (Screenshots of the series show just depressions with a nubbin in the centre, while sone collectibles models have included griblies in the depressions that could be RCS jets.)

Pending. A lot of life on my shoulders right now!

Why should the new owners be any less likely to sue than TTI? They paid for everything KSP-related, including the forum Copyright. Not that anybody is likely to go to court: It is standard practice to issue a Cease And Desist letter, copied to the hosting service who own the actual servers. They, in turn, would be quite within their rights to take down the new forum and send the individual(s) running it a letter saying "it stays down until copyright issues have been resolved". -

IVAs are a lot of hard work to create, and Beale has said that he is much less good at them than he is good at externals.

Yeah, and one can load the craft file into a text editor and do the search there! Problem: One of the mods is BDB. The number of parts I might have used is large. I can whittle it down by elimination, (no engines or capsules for instance), but that's still a lot left, and I was hoping that somewhere out there is a mod that will add the mod name to the PAW for a placed part. I thought I found one mod, but it's a few major revisions out-of-date! I guess I might reduce the work a lot more by removing BDB sub-directories one-at-a-time, see if that causes any craft files to fail to load, and then go search the models for specifics.

I wish to remove one or two parts mods that I hardly use parts from, but one or two craft files do nevertheless, have one or two parts from these mods. Problem: the craft are large and have a lot of parts, and identifying which mod a part comes from in the design is laborious. Any way to accelerate this process? Do any current mods highlight the mod name in the PAW? NB: mods which highlight the manufacturer or mod in the parts list don't help - it's when I select a part placed in the craft that I want the information!

I assume you are doing this in orbit? IIRC you have to do this in Build Mode, and snap it to one of the connection nodes on the truss. (There may be a way round this: build the transporter in the VAB with a Pico Port attached to the node on its base, then add a matching Pico Port to the centre attachment node on the truss, and then dock the one to the other using the Canadarm. But I haven't tried this and it may not work! If it works then the transporter will slide sideways off the port, as the transporter's base node is connected to the body by a robotic piston.)

Thanks for the link - and that's a neat set of parts!

Another option was a winch/vertical grab system for lifting cargo, only seen (IIRC) in the first episode when Eagles were being used to try and distribute the chain-reacting nuclear waste barrels.

Veeery nice! Good, crisp modelling, and exactly as I remember from the show - albeit, they smeared quite a lot of fuller's earth over the models to make them look worn and beaten up. Would the airlock still glitch if the spine was a separate part?

But surely the Isp of low-mass, low-velocity methane would have been far too low to create any significant dV? -

I believe @Lisias's point was "the forum is remaining stable despite an apparent increase in users and/or bots". That the stability increase will have inevitably lead to an increase in apparent users doesn't invalidate the point that there is an improvement in stability. -
If you use the mod Smart Parts, one can add a timer device that will be activated during the hot staging, and will trigger an event (hotkey or staging) any number of seconds later.
