I personally like having a career save that evolves into sandbox. It always felt weird to me that the Kerbals would start off with all technology unlocked, and could launch anything with no restrictions. In my current career, I've set up my strategy so that the science I gain is open-source and I just worry about budgets.

Building collision glitch on KSC approach.
Dizzle replied to Dizzle's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Doubt it's related to any mods, only posted here because I have them installed. Version: .25 Non-UI Mods: Deadly Re-Entry NEAR -
This has happened to me once before, but now it's happening almost every time. Upon approach to KSC, at any distance from far away to just over the runway, parts of my plane will "collide" with distant buildings, destroying the parts and sometimes the buildings. It happened 3 or 4 times while landing a spaceplane just now (luckily had a quicksave), and eventually I gave up and put it down in the grass.

how I think the kerbals report on some of my contract missions

Don't read the comments if you have a high opinion of humanity and would like to keep it. -
Nice work. I wonder if it'd be possible to make a mod that uses more realistic values? It may not mean much gameplay-wise, but seeing such small numbers just doesn't compute for me.

Kind of a weird experience. I was landing a spaceplane on the runway and had to turn slightly to the right while slowing down. As I was doing this, part of the left wing exploded. Despite it never colliding with anything, I assumed it had just hit the runway while I was turning. The flight log told me it had somehow hit the VAB. I could have sworn I got a screencap of this, but all that's there is the same shot without the flight log. Odd.

Forcing OpenGL gave me a few seconds of loading screen, then flashing between black screen and desktop before crashing to desktop. It's a shame, since .25 seems to have pathetically little room for mods. GPU: Radeon HD 6970 RAM: 8Gb OS: Win 7 x64
-
If not both, I'd say the Ring of Fire, UNLESS the building you intend to leap is the VAB.
-
Depends. What's the Ring of Fire?

Anyone else not really care for the career stuff?
Dizzle replied to sedativechunk's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I like the career mode, but I hate how it starts. It's just boring until solar panels and fuel lines are unlocked and I can start sending kerbals to the Mun. -
Sorry if I'm missing something, or if there was already a thread for this. I've found that in version .25, radial chutes don't work for some reason. They deploy, but never appear, and their icon becomes red indicating that they were damaged. The flight log makes no mention of it. I don't believe it's related to a mod, but I do have a few installed. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks for any help.

Heavy planes break the runway in 0.25?
Dizzle replied to mrwinesauce's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
On topic, how did something like this make it past testing? Is Danny2462 not on the team? -
Radial Decouplers still not fixed???
Dizzle replied to dtoxic's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
This is really annoying to hear. Whether a ship makes it to orbit is pretty much luck until this is fixed, and I can't even fathom how it's lasted this long. -
New technology suggests a real world IVA holodeck (ish)
Dizzle replied to John FX's topic in The Lounge
Stopped watching at Kinect. -
Don't take my word for it, but I think someone said the old parts would be around for .25 to give people a chance to swap out old parts with new ones.
-
Maybe not one part, but there is one that lets you merge sequential parts, like tank stacks, into one part. You should at least be able to greatly reduce the part count with that.

I've never understood the idea of not integrating FAR so as not to scare off beginners. If anything it makes rockets easier, and planes are generally not where you'll start.
