  1. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH *catches breath* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH Talk about uncanny valley. Cool, but creepy.
  2. Oh. My. God. I completely forgot about this, and didn't think there were any KSP pastas. I googled it only to find out I wrote it. Super weird feeling.
  3. I think occasional UFOs might be cool. Something you probably couldn't get a good look at, but you might be on the ground at KSC and track something zipping around overhead at 30km.
  4. Can't speak for the poster I replied to, but this is correct in the case of my post. I'm still a proud central air unit, though. Anyway, I really can't believe this thread has blown up this much. It seems like a simple enough question, don't see why it's such a hot topic, though the OP is kind of a mess.* *the post, not necessarily the user
  5. I identify as Central Air, which of us has more oppression points? My chart is out of date.
  6. The two big ones for me are x64 and a more complete Kerbol system.
  7. Thanks for the tips and the guide, some useful info here.
  8. So I have a contract to build an outpost on the moon. I've never successfully built one before, but after spending a lot of time in the VAB, I'm really not sure how to even go about it. I can't figure out how to connect the pieces together, or get the docking ports to line up once they're on the ground. Even in the editor, it's hard to know if they'll be lined up when they're resting on a surface that might be slightly uneven. Any help is appreciated.
  9. Huh. So this is what happens when the goo escapes into the water. Oops.
  10. Glad to see this thread. When I buy a Steam game, I judge whether or not it was worth it based on hours compared to cash spent. If I play for more than an hour for every dollar spent, it's worth it. I bought KSP for 15$, and have about 200 hours since just before .24 (when I moved it to Steam), so it's obviously been worthwhile many times over.
  11. NEAR rockets. I did finally make some reliable spaceplanes that saw some distinguished service, but ultimately they were too much hassle for too little benefit. I still have NEAR installed because I love the look of fairings, but I don't use spaceplanes at all anymore. I choose NEAR over FAR because I don't like the mach effects.
  12. You're not the only one, but it's been around since at least .25. It's even older than that, I think.
  13. I would really like to launch to the soundtrack from Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
  14. Hey guys. This is something that's been bugging me for a long time, and I figured I should finally make an effort to get it down. It seems like no matter what, I have a really hard time getting kerbals to Duna and back. Here's what I want to know: -How much delta-V should a lander have to be able to land anywhere on the planet and return to Kerbin? This is probably the most important. -How low should I aim to aerobrake? -At what speed should I be entering Duna's SOI? Sometimes I seem to come in at around 1km/s or less, and sometimes it's upwards of 3km/s. Why? -What is the usefulness of drogue chutes? I know to use them in conjunction with engines, but they don't even seem to deploy until a ridiculously low altitude. -Anything important I'm missing? Usually I wait for KAC's transfer window, adjust so the periapsis is about 11km, and land wherever I end up. Usually I don't have enough delta-V to return. Thanks for any help.
  15. I'm between 4 and 5. I've at least landed probes on most bodies, but on atmospheric bodies I still can't choose my landing site, and I can't reliably travel to any of Jool's moons. I feel like I must be missing something basic, either in efficient maneuvering skill or in building techniques. Landing on the Mun and Minmus has been cake for me since .16, yet even now I can't reliably get Kerbals to Duna and back.
  16. *sigh* There has to be a better way to do this. Oh well, marking this as answered.
  17. According to the wiki, orbiting Kerbin is 2xp, which is the requirement for level 1. The 75x75 orbit they were in should have been enough to level them up under any circumstances. Neither of them gained XP, and neither of them had been to space before.
  18. They're below level 1, so orbiting Kerbin should have been enough. Yes, they were recovered.
