  1. Infinitely more likely that it's just PC only. Console ports usually have to wait until the "official" version is complete and released out in the wild before they start converting everything to work on consoles. I don't think it's going to be a very long wait, maybe 2 weeks to a month, but you won't be waiting years and years like you would with Minecraft.
  2. Das just found a game-crashing bug on the reveal stream. It's gunna be a while yet, boys...
  3. Incorrect. Expansion packs are also free for those of us who bought KSP before April 30th, 2013. ------------ " Regardless of whether ‘updates’ implies 'expansions’ or not, it’s quite obvious now that we need to rephrase that statement so everyone knows exactly what they’re getting when they purchase the game. However, it became clear to us that many might have already taken that statement to mean something else than we did when they bought the game, and so had a different notion of what it was they were getting with their initial purchase. So given that this was a point of confusion, and that we believe that no matter what, a promise is a promise, we are including Expansions in what you can expect to get for free if you have already bought the game. Also, for those considering purchasing the game, we will maintain this promise for all purchases made until the end of this month (April, 2013). We have to admit though, up until now, we hadn’t considered Expansion Packs to be the same as updates to KSP. That was in large part because we really had no plans for actual expansions at all. But as you can imagine, over the course of the 2 and a half years we’ve been developing KSP, we’ve come across many ideas that we thought were very cool, but didn’t really fit the original scope of the game. Those would have led us astray from our vision of the complete game, not to mention that they could take many months, if not years, to implement." Source ------------ Regardless of who's now working at Squad and who isn't, Squad as a company made this claim and I, as a customer who's supported KSP since 2012, expect them to maintain their promise.
  4. Pretty sure the bank would refuse the loan more because a stranger just came into the building demanding a million pounds...
  5. I always felt like colonization should be handled with a Civ 5 style of interface. I guess it could work like Spore (shudder) in that you can actively switch between Regular KSP mode (what we have right now) and Colonization Mode. This would allow you to continue playing KSP as it is currently while also hopping into a different interface for town building, establishing mines, farms, barracks, refineries, etc etc. Because let's face it, KSP isn't designed to administer a practical workflow when it comes to things like building a colony and yet at the same time, it desperately needs offworld development as currently the only reason to go ANYWHERE is...."because." So I think we need less of "Launch building X into space, land, now you have launchpad on Duna" and more "Assign a Crew to work Factory" The player will still have to do everything by themself at least once. Want a greenhouse at your colony? You're going to have to build one, launch it and land it. But after you've done so, you now have the option of assigning a crew to do that for you in the future. This means that the player always gets to be at the forefront of the game and never plays second fiddle to "automated" processes, while at the same time having those automated processes available so that the player can continue launching space craft instead of... "ugh...I have to send ANOTHER shipment of ore to my base on Duna? I want to go to Laythe though..." And while we're on the subject of colonization, I think we need to get away from the idea of Kerbin being the lifeblood of every colony ever. Sure, at first a colony is going to be 100% reliant on Kerbin for supplies, but I feel like eventually the colony needs to be able to become self sufficient and thus an extension of Kerbin's influence over the solar system. You know, the entire point of a colony. So at some point, colonies need to be able to have VAB's of their own and we need to stop relying on "send comsat to Duna" and focus more on "launch comsat from Duna"
  6. Totally true. Just ask the Skyrim community. /s
  7. While I agree with 99% of this, I will say that a "multiplayer only" mode where one player is effectively the pilot limited to first person view and no map readouts and the other is mission control with all the relevant details would be super cool/scary/omgtheimmersionisreal
  8. the same way you copy anything else: right click, copy, left click, paste.
  9. Make a backup. I've been doing so since .18 days. Unfortunately, my hard drive died on me a few months back and I didn't yet have the ability to have a backup drive...so I've since lost all my legacy versions of KSP. But by and large, the easiest way to save your versions is...to save your versions.
  10. That's exactly what the SAS does currently. What you're wanting is a more adaptive angle retention mode. See, as you get further and further from the planet (and as the planet rotates underneath you), you get this effect that looks like the SAS is creeping away from where you set it. The reality isn't that the SAS is creeping, it's that your position relative to the planet is significantly different. That's why you have to constantly adjust the SAS. KSP does have a "sort-of" solution to this in that you can set the SAS to follow your prograde marker but it doesn't do exactly what you're wanting. What you're wanting is a new mode where if I set the SAS at a 45 degree angle relative to the surface, I want the craft to remain at a 45 degree angle relative to the surface. This would, in effect, require that the point of reference not merely be the planet, but rather the specific part of the planet directly below you. Now I'm not sure if this is possible in KSP (I'm using SOI as my basis here), but I would think it should be. It would require the game to track your exact position over any given body, however, instead of just "at kerbin=true" so I would assume performance would take a small hit.
  11. Considering a prison only exists to keep someone from going somewhere and since we can't survive in space...all you'd need is a Mk1 capsule with no engine and...space prison...
  12. Joined in 2012 but EASILY lurked for a year before hand. ----EDIT---- Also, I survived the great forum wipe.
  13. So, you know, like your standard Chevy XD
  14. There was some debate about this awhile back and unless things have changed since then (and they could have!) I believe it was found that there's no difference in performance regarding placement.
  15. The editor portion of KSP is very similar to Spore's creature/building/craft creation. That's about it as far as similarities go though. I guess I only bring it up not to say that there are KSP-like games out there that do it better, but instead I bring it up to say that some of KSP's mechanics are not as unique as they may have been previously thought.
  16. Same here. KSP was (I would say) 95% stable before "upgrading" Unity. Now we have random crashes, wheels don't work, landing legs don't work, orbital decay is much more pronounced (despite devs saying otherswise), phantom forces are out in full...force....but hey, we've got 64bit support now! And the part that annoys me the most is that even if they had no idea the new version of Unity would break so much, once they had their build machines on it, they would have found out. And yet they pushed it out into the wild anyway...
  17. mmmm that Kessler Syndrome looks tasty!
  18. The OP is narrow minded at best. Pressure sensitive keyboard? What are you, some kind of peasant? Games should just know what I want to do in them. I shouldn't have to use ridiculous things like controllers and monitors. Better yet, I shouldn't even have to be on a computer to play them at all! They should just work! Why do we have these useless power cables everywhere?! I don't have a power cable. Neither should my computer! is jokes my precious
  19. Can confirm. Diplomats are among us. /IlluminatiDelayedHalflife3
