  1. I use some mods, but I do everything stock first.
  2. I saw a thread about it on the KSP forums in the summer of 2011. I've been playing KSP ever since.
  3. MUN Pros: Less fuel to reach No inclination change Cons: More gravity (harder landing/more fuel needed for it) Possibly very bumpy ground MINMUS Pros: Less gravity (easier landing/less fuel needed for it) Flat seas at 0m at equator Cons: More fuel to reach Inclination change
  4. That's impressive. Now, I wonder if you could create a steering system, using the mass of the Kerbal. IT might require a different setup, though.
  5. I haven't done Eve or Tylo return missions, I haven't built an SSTO, and I haven't done a grand tour (going everywhere with 1 ship, and refueling). I've been to every planet and moon, though.
  6. 1) KAS will work fine for that, since it's docking anyway. 3) It's not possible to change action groups, but you can manually right-click on the RCS thrusters and toggle them on or off. Also, unless you are using them as main engines, you should be able to rotate and translate with the same ones.
  7. Minmus has those perfectly flat plains though.
  8. It might be worth making a base on Minmus though, since it has very low gravity.
  9. Even if there was a hazard to crashing them into KSC, I doubt I would care that much. Throwing LV-Ns going at 9 km/s at Kerbin is standard practice.
  10. It's a balance choice, since the aerodynamics are not that good yet.
  11. I saw a post on the Minecraft forums about KSP a few years ago, so I took a look at it.
  12. 524. Who cares about the physics, we need Star Wars-style space battles, with multiplayer, weapons, none of this annoying math and "delta-v" stuff (infinite fuel, point where you want to get there), aliens, random failures on ships like what happened on Apollo 13, and you should be able to do the battle where two planets orbit each other and and you'd need to worry about both of them both pulling you in so you crash.
  13. I landed back in the first version where there was the Mun, so no EVA. I think I ended up not using landing legs (if there were any) and landed on two LV-404s.
  14. I bought 0.13, since that was the first buyable version.
  15. Two things: 1. I once managed a perfect successful suicide burn when landing on the Mun. I finished decelerating from 600 m/s to 0 m/s just as I hit the ground. 2. When I was returning from Bop, I ran out of fuel just before getting a Kerbin intercept. Luckily, I still had RCS fuel left. I got my periapsis low enough to aerobrake successfully, and then I saw that I had < 0.5 units of RCS fuel left. This was before the RCS change, but it was only enough fuel for another fraction of a second of use.
  16. I've also been playing since around 0.8 or 0.9, but I quicksave every minute or so, necessary or not.
  17. I find that it's almost always easier to have a Asparagus-staged Mainsail group for getting off the ground, and then circularizing with a LV-N. I've only really used it to see how it is.
  18. It worked better if you have a Kerbal on the ground, with a mainsail going just above him.
  19. They would not be the best method to leave Eve since they are heavy and have worse Isp than aerospikes. To get off Eve, the best idea would be to use aerospikes with LV-Ns. Skipper engine's TWR would go also go to waste because of the thick atmosphere.
  20. You should be able to use all of them, and you'll also be able to use mods that require plugins to work.
  21. Two things, so far: Landing a Kerbal on every planet (except Jool) and moon, and the many times a rescue mission was just barely successful.
  22. Put one under a Mainsail for a few seconds. Eventually they will explode.
  23. If you don't want to answer, don't answer. On-topic, I don't cheat at all. When I do any missions for the first time, I don't use any mods at all. The only time I've used the debug tool is to mess with Whack-a-Kerbal. Now that I've landed everywhere (and returned from almost everywhere) stock, I've downloaded a few mods like Kethane and KAS. Also, no MechJeb is ever allowed, since I personally see this as cheating (but if someone else wants to use it, they can go ahead).
  24. As long as they are off the launchpad, my Kerbals tend to be safe. However, I've probably killed a few thousand Kerbals in and above the KSC area.
