  1. So, I need to get some sleep, but I launched a little shuttle crawler a few days ago: And I think tomorrow I\'ll reach my destination:
  2. I was hoping for a pot of gold... Haha, you should post this in the subreddit and see if you can get people to look for it.
  3. Hmm, that\'s probably the most logical explanation. As long as it isn\'t some weird shader problem.
  4. So, I was driving around up north and saw a weird ribbon in the sky: So I zoomed out trying to look at it: It almost looks like a botched Aurora or something. Anyone else seen this?
  5. This is probably why you\'re one of my favorite modders, you worry about making low-poly look good, which helps performance immensely.
  6. By the way, don\'t spam with autosave if you are still within a few hundred kilometers of the KSC, or it\'ll warp you back to the launch pad...
  7. So...does this mod cause the possibility that Bill, Bob, and Jeb could be on seperate crews in future launches? If you kill Jeb, but not Bill or Bob, and land, is a blue-suit sitting in the pilots chair the next flight instead of Jeb?
  8. That\'s good to know! I also found out you can three-finger-salute if you crash, close the KSP process, and it\'ll go to your last auto-save with craft and crew in tact when you relaunch KSP. Now the hard part is staying away from large mountains and not getting bored by traveling the world at 30 m/s (though 67 mph is pretty good for a shuttle crawler!)...
  9. You and TheUnlogicalOne finding the other KSC elsewhere on Kerbin have inspired me: I\'m transporting that SSV to another KSC and launching from another space center for my first time. I\'ll let you know how long it takes before I crash and give up.
  10. Dammit, now because of TheUnlogicalOne and Mu, I feel like I need to pull efforts closer to Kerbin before going to the Mun...
  11. So, according someone at the KSP subreddit, there\'s a KSC on the Mun. The OP hasn\'t responded yet as to whether this was a glitch or something he can repeatedly find, but I\'m willing to bet there\'s more things on the Mun and even Kerbin that are just waiting to be found (going straight to the ice caps when I\'m off work...). Has anyone found anything amazing yet like the Munar KSC?
  12. So, how would the rest of us go about recreating this?
  13. Exactly, and the config modifications are copy/pasting the parameters at the bottom of the condemned command module\'s config file, to the bottom of whatever other CM you want to use, and then changing its 'module = CommandPod' to 'module = ARRemotePod' (which I did to Nova\'s Probodobodyne command cores).
  14. Link to a small album of images of said satellites. Now I can send unmanned probes to the dark side of the Mun, as the 3 Mun comsats provide constant coverage over the majority of the Mun\'s surface. Eventually I will set up a Mun base (bace) with the 0.14.2 release, and then set up a Mun-centric network for colony work probes and rovers. After that, I hope to establish 2 more in Kerbol-orbit so I have constant coverage during outer-system probe missions. Just a heads up, there\'s a ~1 second delay when landing probes on the Mun, so it may take awhile to get the hang of unmanned missions. Special thanks to The_Duck for this awesome plugin, and to Nova, whose parts I modified to work with The_Duck\'s scripts.
  15. That\'s pretty awesome, Nova. Hopefully you can figure the collision meshes out for airbags.
  16. I feel the same. When I picked up this game pre-orbital-map, it took me about 3 days to figure out orbital speeds and trajectories. As soon as I completed my first successful orbit (which required leaving your craft in flight for about an hour to make sure its perigee wasn\'t in the atmosphere (no time-warp yet!)), I was completely hooked. To this day, I think the only game I have more hours into is Diablo II, and I played that for years, and I\'m willing to bet, in about 6 more months, KSP will surpass that as well.
  17. Hahaha, the Apex program is very Kerbal. I don\'t know if I ever tinkered around with pure SRB designs.
  18. To dredge up a few day old discussion, some people were mentioning the new fairing decouplers don\'t work; you need to activate the fairing decouplers on the stage before the decoupler base they\'re attached to in order to work, they\'ll just sit there and let your upper stages float through them if you fire them both at the same time. I\'d hate to see you stop making things, Nova, but it\'s pretty awesome you have so much planned.
  19. I\'ve been tinkering around with trying to send probes to specific orbit levels around the Kerbol system to prepare for the eventual release of planets. The Launch Vehicle: This bugger is over-kill for this mission. It easily hits Kerbol escape velocities with plenty of fuel to spare. The Original Mission: Originally I was shooting for an orbit around where Eris would hang out in a system of this scale. There was something about the ~14 days I\'d have to wait to reach the apoapsis that convinced me to change my mind... The Original New Mission: Stopping at ~530 billion meters from the sun, I have arrived at about where Pluto would be. The elliptical orbit you see in the second photo between Ringer I on top and Kerbin\'s orbit, is another probe of mine that swings between Mars\' and Saturn\'s orbits, just to help give some scale. The Probe: In the first picture, you can see, I have 4 full probe LFTs, allowing me to do maneuvering around Pluto (had I found it). The second picture shows what Kerbol looks like from this orbit. Look closely for a faint lens flare to help center in on it.
  20. There are coupler parachute, put it below the .5m CM and then a small decouple under that.
