  1. Not sure about landing, possibly with parachute assist and aerobraking.
  2. I believe the last time I saw anything about an N-1 in development was almost exactly a year ago, and one of the people was Nova, so I doubt that went anywhere. :/ Honestly I haven't tinkered around with the replica mods out there, but if it can land on the Mun, it should have about the amount of fuel needed to slingshot around Duna.
  3. I was actually thinking about that, hence the analogue name to the Surveyor probe Apollo 12 was targeting.
  4. Go to the Soyuz command module file in your parts folder. In that file, you'll see a file called "part.cfg," open it with a word editor (MS Notepad, for instance). Go down to the bottom under where it says // ---Tweakables, and add this: // --- internal setup --- CrewCapacity = 3 INTERNAL { name = PodCockpit } This will give you this interior of the 2m command pod. (I'm aware the lander is supposed to have 2 crew members, but I think you'll have to wait for community-made interiors before you can do much about this...)
  5. This is wonderful! I've been trying to make the smallest craft to land on Duna and return that I can, so far I can get an orbital vehicle that can get to Duna orbit and return to Kerbin with 6 of the long 2m tanks, and 1 short 2m tank. I can't quite squeeze out enough fuel to land on Duna and return to Dunan orbit yet though.
  6. Thank you! I've been trying to download for the last 3 days, and finally as of 3 minutes ago, it went from a 404 page, to a very speedy download page. I appreciate it a lot!
  7. Your Mun Parkour video is a great demonstration for how much time Dan put into animations. How were you doing the flips?
  8. Vielen Dank! I appreciate the feedback, I hadn't made a video before but wanted to show some friends what I was talking about when I brought up KSP, so I'm glad people actually think it turned out well.
  9. Moved this here instead of the pictures thread since I had no idea this was hidden in old threads...
  10. Thank you for actually watching it! I love Russian Circles, amazing band to watch live. I'm really digging how the part lights add that ambient glow to your shot.
  11. I know this is a pictures thread, but I made this video to try and get my friends to try KSP. Edit: Moved to video thread I had failed to see when I posted this.
  12. Threw this together last night to try and draw a few friends into KSP. It's the first time I've made a movie (had never touched windows movie maker before). Let me know what you think!
  13. Yeah, if you're "skipping off" the atmosphere, "never to return," that's a bug. It should spit you out the other side slightly slower with a much lower apoapsis on your highly elliptical orbit.
  14. You should post it when you feel you're done experimenting. I would love an updated/upscaled BACE partset, and I'm sure others would too.
  15. I'm still getting patcher update notifications even though I have the new patcher. The new patcher says I'm not authorized to look for a repair update though... I hope that's normal.
  16. You have to be able to edit the model itself in a 3d modeling suite. I'm not sure of the exact step, but I know there is a tutorial on how to do it if you have Blender.
  17. This is about as small as I can make it so far. The X craft. I managed to get to the Mun/Minmus and back, even with the fuelbug fix tweak, so it should work just fine in vanilla 0.16. Here's the craft file.
  18. Haha, and they're giving out 3 copies of KSP for cutting your hair into a mohawk.
  19. I've been looking recently, and I can't find anything about crew boarding for Russian spacecraft. I know they put the orbiter in a protecting fairing, mount it to the Soyuz launch system, and the roll the assembled ship to the launch site via rail road, but I'm not seeing how men board the craft once it's on site.
  20. Here's Nasa's page that will let you track where the Mars Science Laboratory is compared to Mars and its designated landing site until Nasa starts streaming live from the control room in about 9 hours. Can't wait to recreate this in KSP in a few months!
  21. I don't know why this never occurred to me, I may have to try that. Congrats on the 10" dob! I bet that's pretty nice for planet watching.
  22. Almost looks like a Kerbal descending onto the surface of something...
