  1. Because the planet is much smaller and if it was scaled up, lag central. Also, at the time KSP in general was much less cpu and graphics card intensive, so they could use the old (default unity) water shader.
  2. No. It is recommended to restart career saves, though, and mods are very much hit and miss.
  3. Nosecones are at this point completely useless outside of FAR. All they do is close off a node and add weight. Most parts do have some use ( you can build rockets with the mark 55, the engine nacelle does provide intake air, structural parts allow for stronger construction and radial engines) but the nosecones are completely useless.
  4. Seems simple enough. -Famous Last Words But seriously, this would help. Especially with planetary orbits, I think. It's often hard to tell which way the planets are going without timewarp.
  5. As of now: Threads that include people venting about resource cancellation and hating on multiplayer like it killed their dog takes up 1/3 of all threads in General KSP discussion. Most of those threads have 10 or more pages of absolute bile.
  6. Hey,the game is still fun, right guys? That's what counts, right? ...right? Guys?...
  7. Science lab is 3.5 tons. So, if this works with 2 hitchhikers (5 tons!) then it will work with the science lab Source: Stream
  8. Full compatibility on saves. Not sure about mods.
  9. If a 12-year old has the patience or skills to accurately rendezvous with a space station, aim the srb accurately at it, and manage to hit it, I would be very, very surprised.
  10. SCIENCE! Lab facts: 3.5 tons Holds 2 Kerbals No IVA yet Takes a long time to process experiments Can only process 1 report at a time Improves recovery rates of science experiments Displays increased rate upon completion-as well as additional flavor text! Always welcome New report has a massively increased data value: good luck if you're using the materials bay or the avionics pack Looks frakking awesome.
  11. Truly Whackjovian. Reminds me about your failure quote.
  12. Map mode is what made larger planets possible, AFAIK. Before, it would be unclear whether you were orbital or just suborbital with bigger planets.
  13. Hah! Can't find tutorials! Hahahaha! You're a funny guy, you know that?
  14. ...Or You could unlock a pod from the front. Or drive another craft out with a kerbal in it, Eva the kerbal, and have him board the seat from there... I just don't think that having a command seat is an automatic disqualification. But, no instructions included, so in that regard you are correct.
  15. No, he's quite clearly mashing the ladder.
  16. We get on livestream, one long, long livestream showcasing 0.23 (or whatever near release version of said update) in it.
  17. I wonder how 3d printers will handle floating parts?
  18. NTRs use Hydrogen as the fluid it heats up for propulsion, so it's conceivable that it will just stay as Monopropellant.
  19. Still, at least Gravity didn't have them blasting little purple men with slower-than-light lasers.
  20. Why not use the fuel up when you're launching? All you need are a few fuel lines and trusses. Attach the tiny cubic trusses down one side of your ship, attach the fuel lines so the fuel flows down to the stages, and you're all set.
  21. But even the smallest chance of disaster in a mission can really screvv it over. Remember, noting is 100%. Even if the majority of your craft is made of shielding, there's always a chance that a solar flare will destroy your electronics. Even if you've spent years, decades even researching a space launch vehicle, there's always some ambiguity. You cannot prepare for everything, practically and theoretically. Now, how would you feel if your massive grand tour met that 0.00001% per year chance for a major disaster with no chance for repair?
  22. The "angle" in the picture is the transfer phase angle from Kerbin to Duna (or vice versa.) It proves that, whatever those creatures were, they knew a thing or two about math. Why they would NEED a transfer orbit, though, is a much different story...
  23. Sigbro Kerman has always been one of my favorites. When Jeb and Bill were off doing something else, he piloted the duna lander, took off again with a partially broken lander, docked the imbalanced lander to the CSM, and then had the patience to wait there for a few months. Plus, he's been a good test pilot, but I haven't had him show up nowadays. Maybe he's off playing pool in the astronaut facility.
