Well, be that as it may, is now the first line in the new challenge and it's been made bold. So maybe more people will now realize what the challenge is about... -
BSC - Two-stage Lander - We have a WINNER!
Xeldrak replied to Xeldrak's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I'm not shooting you.....I'm shooting the guys that do not read past the second line. I have no problem with you winning, it's a fun challenge and all there is to win is bragging rights, it's not like we are actually voting for new stock craft here. It's not your fault, that people voted for you and you shouldn't receive any hate for this. The winners are choosen purely by vote and votes sometimes end in strange results - tough luck. I put quite a lot of effort into these challenges and if people come in here, do not read past the first line and vote for anything without leaving a line, I get the feeling that neither my work nor the work of the guys, that write 500+ words to justify their vote or that considered all the stuff I wrote and built a craft according to it is really appreciated. I think this is simply bad mannered behaviour and has nothing to do with "the wrong person" winning. -
BSC - Two-stage Lander - We have a WINNER!

Well, I allways thought, that the wording straight to the point. After a two-line preamble, the first thing in the first post was: I spent a whole paragraph on what you should consider when building your craft. Also, while the word "stock" has two meanings, "Better Stock Craft" seems to make sense only with one meaning. I like that the challenge has very few restictions, so that you guys can really show your ideas. I try to work a lot with different font sizes and pictures to mark the most importat stuff - but I can't help it if noone reads more than the first line. -
Well, another 24 hours are over and: antbin wins clearly with 13 votes! Tied on second place are Mulbin and brobel with eight votes! It was fun once again to see and talk about all your designs. Thank you guys for participation. You can download the top3 in a single .zip >>HERE<< Primary elections are done! Time for the grand finale! You can vote over here! Please drop a few line who you've voted for! Final elections will run for 24 hours. Also check the orignal posts for more pictures and stats on the finalists Contenders AmpsterMan - SR2-"Ranger" antbin - To Aeris Kerbal 3a brobel - X-2 Swift Mulbin - Jet 3 Xeldrak - CR Moloch Primary elections have started! Vote here! Please drop a few line who you've voted for! Primary elections will run for 48 hours - the six best entries will enter the final 24h-election! Please check the challenge guidelines - even if you just want to vote! Remember to come back in two days! As you all should know by now, the stock crafts in KSP are horrible for the most part. So I challenge you to come up with a replacement craft. The last challenge just finished yesterday, with Mulbin as a clear winner but for reasons I'll explain in a few we'll start with the next one right now. Please read the stuff I've typed, there are a some minor changes in the format this time. Please check the challenge guidelines - even if you just want to vote! This is where I've outsourced all the rules. Didn't you say one week between the challenges? Aka. How is this going to work? Thing is, I'm leaving the country on September 16th for 1-2 weeks without internet, so we can either run another challenge or wait for up to 3 weeks. Since there were several people who seem to be anticipating the next challenge, I won't let you wait this long. Because that's in one week, I'll have to modify the challenge-rules. This time you got 72 hours to build your craft - that's only three days. Please remember - I'd hate to turn down entries just because you didn't realize. Afterwards we will spend three days with voting - if we have enough entries, we will have primaries first. What are we doing this time? As you allready know, we are doing the Aeris 3a Well, this one is actually a rather good Plane - still, I encourage you to come up with something better If you can, drop a few line why you plane is better Now, I'm a little more specific about the replacement this time. Since there are still other planes to get a challenge, this time I want something that can have a short range, has to fly well, be maneuvrable and stable. Basically a plane you can use to get used to the airplane controls and get some basic aircraft-design ideas. No speed or altitude records needed, this time. For inspiration, I picked a rather odd choince this time: So basically, you craft can be anywhere between a Messerschmitt Bf 109, a Cessna, a Grumman Hellcat and a Learjet. Yes, I know - there are no propellers in KSP - that's just to emphasize, that speed is not the goal here. I think I'm with the majority on this one - having some restrictions can make a game much more fun. Do you think StarCraft would be more fun when all Unit would cost nothing? Or any FPS if you have unlimited ammo and all the guns you want? Or...well, whatever games you like to play, with all the restrictions removed. Restrictions are an integral part of any game and can really enhance the experience.

The crest ist also included, but I think it fits exactly into this space on the minimalistic-flag where there is not much happening. -

BSC - Two-stage Lander - We have a WINNER!
Xeldrak replied to Xeldrak's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Well, we have a winner! Mulbin clearly leads the election with 15 votes, more than twice as many votes as Mesklin. Mesklin claims the second place with seven votes, closely followed by Karmacoma with six votes. Congratulations to you all, especially Mulbin You can download the three .craft files here! Maybe Mulbin will be so nice and provide a .craft file of the Lander only. It's been fun again - see you at the next challenge! -

Xeldrak replied to Mulbin's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Well, with black-white-red you could still be with the egytians Anyways - Black-Red-Gold are the colors of (democratic) germany. I use the Arstotzka-Flag - not very historic but I like its style. -
BSC - Two-stage Lander - We have a WINNER!
Xeldrak replied to Xeldrak's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Well, it's half time and right low it looks like Mulbin will will, leading with a solid 7 votes - on second place Karmacoma and Mesklin, each with 4 votes. Slugy and me are making ourselves comfortable on the last two places. I've you haven't voted yet - it's about time! -
Mun-trapped! MechJeb can't help you now...
Xeldrak replied to Galane's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Yes, it's definitely possible - you'got loads of fuel and the Poodle is a very efficient engine (for a chemical engine). Basically all you have to do is burn prograde when you are between the Mun and Kerbin. Get rid of this support craft, it just make the whole thing wobblier and the lander has loads of fuel on its own. I strongly suggest to play around with orbital mechanics and rely less on MechJeb -
Mun-trapped! MechJeb can't help you now...
Xeldrak replied to Galane's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Well, there you go - mechjeb vanished while loading the vehicle, but I thankfully I can navigate within the Kerbin-Mun-System by hand....at least a littlebit. I tried to comment each picture... By the way - there is quite a lot of fuel in that spaceship, no need to fuel up anyway. Is enough to reach Duna......literally.... (once again showing off my mad powered decent skills) -
BSC - Two-stage Lander - We have a WINNER!
Xeldrak replied to Xeldrak's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Well, you can use your Command Module to set is on a crash-course, decouple and then change you course again. Thats what I've done several times. No need to kill a Kerbal to avoid some space junk -

And while I really love Karmacoma's design, the fact that his lander hast to be stored on top of the rocket due to the shielded docking port, made my vote once again go to Mesklin. -
Yes, yes, we get that. Just to clarify, we've ALL been through school. And no, we do not all suffer from amnesia, we all remember our time in school. You might not be able to imagine it but you can believe us......school is not the worst time in you live.

@AmpsterMan: That's a nice post Really - it's good to see that there are other people, thats seem to be really invested in my little challenges. @SRV Ron: Allright, I've got your craft file allthough I'm not a big fan on needing to register to download something. If you want to upload .craft files, I can recommend , you can also share using google docs or dropbox. Forth option would be the spaceport - that's actually made especially for us @tntristan12 Still missing your .craft file... -
