  1. No, sorry here's where I was the unclear one, I was actually talking about what Capt. Kipard said here but I quoted you cuz I thought way you said was so important.
  2. The dev notes was titled "We're going to talk about spaceport" but there wasn't anything in there other than "Wrote up a statement regarding Spaceport that the community will be seeing this week." Did I miss that statement somewhere?
  3. This, I'm sorry but stock alike is difficult to pull off, I don't know what half those words mean! The idea that to make something look stock alike means just stopping halfway finished is insulting to people like orionkermin, porkjet, sumghai, not to mention the squad employees*. Look there's nothing wrong with preferring more realistic parts, but you'll notice that in my comment I said they're jarring to me, I didn't insult anyone's handy work, there's no reason put anyone down it's just childish. *my apologizes to any stock alike artists I left out.
  4. My reasoning on part design. To me in terms of realism LandeTLS's certainly strikes me as the most realistic, but has a "feel" closer to AEIS, or some of the other realism mods, too realistic not stock alike is pretty jarring to me. For a good mix of realism but still fitting into the look and feel of the game, Ven really nails that. It really looks like a part Squad might make. As someone who put batteries on her part, I totally gotta defend that decision. Yeah, exposed batteries, (especially something that seems to be a D cell) would be beyond stupid on a real spacecraft but since the actual stock battery parts from Squad themselves have the exact same thing, so I think that totally trumps realism.
  5. I'm always surprised that my name doesn't make my gender clear LOL. The solar panel wasn't in the original request, but I've a habit of attaching mechjeb console to stages for this exact same propose but I keep forgetting them and come back and the battery is dead, so I wanted to give it a way to stay alive. Playing with it last night after posting I find it has some real problems, textures not lining up and the solar panel rotates when it's not supposed to. But hey, it's my first publicly released part. And I even included icons for PartCatalog
  6. Thank you, thank you soo sooo much for all your help. I learned a ton on this project.
  7. Introducing Moon Goddess Inc's first part, the Bolt-on Probe Core. This part will let you control spent stages and features a small solar panel to keep the batteries charged. Download
  8. Ok, Now I'm understanding better.... I did that, got it to export in TGA format... got it working in game!!!!! Still have some issues with collider it seems but it's in game! Wish I hadn't gotten sick last night I would have finished then.
  9. I've done that, I have MBM type selected, I have force texture convert checked, nothing.
  10. Mainly cuz I just got home https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28088376/Project.zip I can't get Unity to convert the textures, I tried copying the textures and it just shows up invisible in game, and my solar panel isn't working at all it seems...
  11. I'm just not gonna make it in time for the contest... if I were to post my unity project after the contest, would anyone be willing to help me work out the problems so I can learn for the next one?
  12. I'm having trouble getting the new version of PartTools to work in Unity...
  13. The game is just not finished without mods, the drag model is horribly unrealistic, there's no reentry damage, there's no life support. Vanilla may be fine when the game is finished, but right now there are mods that are mandatory simply to complete the game.
  14. Actually I'm looking to see if I can find a nice flat spot on Tylo, no drag and decent gravity should be the trick here. Kerbal maps is suggesting there is a decent flat space near the south pole.
  15. Even when not using Life Support I pay a lot of attention to time. I try not to "waste" too much time warping thru it, I feel it's bad for Kerbal psychology or something, So if I've sent a mission to Duna, I work on other launches like space station improvements while it's flying.
  16. The last 3 lines, Pretty much tells the story and is short enough for a sig.
  17. I'm kinda wondering if maybe I've gotten over my head. Before I've made a shape in Blender, created a texture to layer over that shape and imported it into unity to convert the file formats. I don't know how to have like some of the mess be one texture, and some of it be this other shiny texture, That's what I was trying to get at, does it need to be a different mesh? so far I'm used to working with the idea my model all have 2 meshes, one body, one colider. On the front of my little box I want a solar panel, I want the panel to be shiny. There's so much more here I feel like I need to learn but I'm striking out on how to learn them.
  18. Does it need to be a seperate texture? a seperate mesh? Or can it just be an area on a text on a mesh that the rest of is not specular?
  19. ok... I'm just gonna throw out there how total noob I am. How do I make an area of my model shiny? Like light reflects? I'm working with Blender, Gimp, and of course Unity
  20. Any Blender expert want to throw me some advice on how to make a curve? The pipe in the end needs to curve 90 degrees
  21. Concept Art I may be tackling something more than my limited texture skills can handle.
  22. See, totally get where you come from, have to just be one of those agree to disagree things, because I think I totally see the VAB differently than everyone else. I feel like everyone sees the VAB as an actual building bolting on lego parts, where as I see it as drawing up the blueprints for something to be manufactured. Like I've seen sumghai make reference (long ago) to realism issues with putting a docking port where you'd have to cut through a bulkhead, where in my headspace there never was a bulkhead there, nothing was cut the whole part was designed with that port there. Just a difference in thought process. So I totally get here you're going on the can't swap out the interior of a Cygnus with a fuel tank, but you could certainly design a separate Cygnus that was always a fuel tank from the beginning of the design process. Thank you, for some reason I've never looked at Modular Fuels, I had it confused with Real Fuels and didn't want to deal with all that.
  23. I think all the work and all should be kept here, but the voting and announcements and all should be in the release forum.
