  1. As far as I'm conserned KSP planets are too http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/entries/645-Kerbal-Mythology
  2. My loneliest missions have all been rescue missions. In one of my early early saves Jeb, Bill and Bob crash landed on Mun. The Pod survived but nothing else. So Susan Kerman took a rescue craft with a hitchhiker out to Mun, all by herself, Now this was early, and I was a horrible pilot, leading to the first crash. So Susan landed some distance away (over 100km been a while don't remember.) I had planned for this eventuality, her lander included, a DEMV Mk2. Sure it's a 2 seater, but she can truck them back in 3 trips. Only I didn't realize the ant didn't have solar panels. It's Batteries died less than half way there. Ok, fine, I'll have the boys walk to her. I switch to their craft in order to EVA.... KRAKEN!!!! The boy's pod falls thru the ground, accelerating thru Mun, thus EVA blocked, by the time it falls out the other side it's at Solar escape velocity. I try an EVA anyways, and it promptly explodes. Susan becomes the loneliest kerbal ever slowly walking back to her craft and returning home, the same loneliness Micheal Collins feared. Some time later I had another experience in loneliness, though not as sad. My first kerballed Duna mission crash lands. (Ok, so parachutes can't stop something that weighs 30 tons on Duna, check) 2 man mission, so while they had to spend a year on Duna, they had each other. However I sent a single Kerbal to rescue them, the rescue was successful, and they returned as 3, but the trip out there, several months alone, had to be pretty bad.
  3. My favorite idea would be the birth of the space program, fill in more backstory and more "day in the life" type stuff, show us what kerbals are like when they aren't working on space But over all, all the options there are good as long as it's NOT intersteller and meet humans that would take it past where it would still be like KSP at that point.
  4. VAB, Mk1 pod parachute solid booster, launch
  5. These look great, any suggestions for an awesome rover to put in the cargo?
  6. enforcement of y'all as plural second person pronoun
  7. Well since we're getting an exention I might actually get done... Here's what I have so far.
  8. Absolutely nothing, I've got Jeb and Bill in a KSO shuttle but I've got so many mods now it crashes every time I try to land them. So I spend last night trying to get a linux install of KSP going but think I'm missing some dependancies
  9. Well seeing as it's more valuable that all the matterial in the solar system, we're talking you could build something "sufficiently advanced"
  10. but um... If nasa doesn't pack enough air or food, what do you think happens?
  11. I think it should be Bitcoin that's the currency of the future right? Truefully I don't care though as long as it doesn't get into any of the K nonsense. TOO MANY K
  12. It seems really odd to me they went to NASA and made this whole thing so we can play out NASA's plans for a real asteroid capture, yet we can't really do real missions because you can just dump a Kerbal out there, for a 100 years if you want. It's really getting dumb. It's been a long long time since I've heard squad say anything about life support, I see all these worrying interviews about how they're finishing career and move to multiplayer then release, and I feel like there are some really major realism holes still left in the game before they move to any of these. I love mods, but I shouldn't have to resort to mods for extremely basic things.
  13. Amazing, I wasn't aware that I needed this, now I don't know how I did without.
  14. No, but it should always be about tightly logical internally consistent physics.
  15. A balloon is the best thing for Eve, get up into the upper atmo, fire your rockets and drop the balloon once you get out of the soup.
  16. Why is this in the Science Labs?
  17. I don't think anyone is asking for realistic Star Wars, that would be like asking for Lord of the Rings to be more realistic, or the Wizard of Oz. But I would like more science fiction movies to be more realistic.
  18. I read a thing that told about odds that the Russian Federation may go thru further revolution and further breakup into smaller piece, but I think we're getting WAY too political is why I was just saying 6 years allows for a lot of change.
  19. Well, I was modeling along here, and got something I liked then noticed it had 8000 tris! and the decimate is doing nothing. Wow.
  20. Well regardless, even if it's months to Laythe, (I'm sure it's not) do you want to sit in the same chair for months in a thing the size of the cab of your car? Peeing in a diaper? You need to have room to stretch, get some exercise, sleep stretched out. Heck, I can't even drive more than a few hours before I want to get out and walk around, I can't imagine going to another planet in a lander can.
