Ah yeah, no, that wouldn't create a net positive energy yield, else every lightning strike that hit the oceans would set off a (bigger) bomb.

How Much Delta V Is Necessary To Get Around The Solar System?
Gargamel replied to Spacescifi's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Why haven't you picked up KSP yet? It's right up your alley. -
Well, I was kinda passive aggressive in the comment, as I worked at the company that made the physical motor. " RocketMotorTwo is a hybrid rocket engine utilizing solid hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) fuel and liquid nitrous oxide oxidizer – sometimes referred to as an N2O/HTPB motor[8][9] – providing 70,000 pounds-force (310 kN) of thrust. [10] "

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the question here, but doesn't StarshipTwo use a NO2/Nylon based hybrid engine?

Nate, the art looks great, and I'm stoked by everything you've put out so far.... but I'm not sure about inflating the purchase cost of the game merely for licensing rights. Keep up the good work!

It's not the png format... that one works. I don't know. I could click on your link @Jimbodiah, and get the pic, but when I copied to file location and pasted it into the post, it didn't expand it. Could you confirm your host works on a variety of other platforms, and it's only the KSP forums giving you an issue, before we bump this upstairs please?

You're very welcome .

And yes, while that would be nice, I don't think it's a practical goal. They can try to make updates that don't break most mods, but if it comes down to not breaking mods, or making the base game work correctly and breaking 80% of the mods out there because a change is required, I know where I will be happiest.

Can somebody explain kraken drives?
Gargamel replied to The_Stinky_Broccoli's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It may be the single most kerbal thing I have ever seen, using Danny as a reference source for research. I have also seen a docking port kraken drive, where 2 ports are on the same ship (initially at least), but held slightly apart, and adjust the magnetic force acts as a throttle. I also think in the current version there is something to do with jet intakes being occluded or something, resulting in infinite fuel. -
I'm not sure what you're exactly referring to, as I never use the paste from URL function. The best method is just to paste the URL directly into the post where you want it.

Is there anything wrong with that? If we apply the same logic to any other creator of fictional entertainment then Clarke, Asimov, Verne, and all the other creators of Hard sci-fi would never have produced a thing. We're talking about a game. A game that revolves around little green men and women, who never need to eat, who have built an advanced space program with no obvious society to support it, on a planet apparently made of osmium. I welcome a little play on the truth when it comes to futuristic, not yet fully developed tech being implemented in such a game.

Fart powered biological underwater propulsion
Gargamel replied to Spacescifi's topic in Science & Spaceflight
There was a thread some time ago on this very concept as a means of RCS. -

[1.12.5] Restock - Revamping KSP's art (August 28)
Gargamel replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Modders work on their own time, for no pay outside of donations. They are not beholden to anybody but themselves to work on their mods. If they have explicitly stated that feature X will not be implemented, then it will not be implemented until they change their minds, and arguing against such is just wasting electrons. So let's move on past discussion of modding styles, and get back to the discussion at hand, this mod in particular. -

Good catch! But yeah, that was my point. Thanks for the FYP. -
Can't Launch Space Plane
Gargamel replied to Popestar's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Planes are far from an integral part of the game. They are nice and have their uses, but I rarely ever use them other than to mess around. I find rockets to be far more rewarding. But to each their own. If you want to make space planes, all the luck to you! -
For Questions That Don't Merit Their Own Thread
Gargamel replied to Skyler4856's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Wasn't the one planet in The Hitchhiker's series surrounded by such a cloud? The planet was the one they built the great cricket (Oh yeah the planet was Krikkit!) gate to keep it isolated cause they tried to conquer obliterate the universe.
