  1. I made the switch to Linux a while ago. Even with the learning curve, I have come to prefer it over windoze. Faster and far cheaper, I can do just the vast majority of what I need to without paying a dime to Micro$oft. OS ... free. Office suite ... free. Image manipulation ... free. All on a par with their windoze alternates. So, I've relegated windows to a gaming platform for those games I play that are windoze only. KSP will be Linux all the way.
  2. I'm having a problem I hope someone can help with. It seems that when scaling using tweakscale it is causing a CTD. replication: new KSP install add following mods: Animate Emissive CRP Crossfeed MM ModuleRCSFX RealFuels RealFuels: Stockalike RF Configs Solver Engines Tweakscale Pick an engine and scale (up/down). Launch. CTD. Thoughts?
  3. If you didn't change the settings during installation, the OS will auto-detect your location. But, just to make sure go into your system setting and look for 'Language Support' (Generally the second item, top row). The select the 'Regional Format' tab; the first selector should read 'English (United States)' (I'm assuming you're American). If not, switch it; then, click 'Apply System-Wide'.
  4. Does this happen with every launch? Or, just occasionally? Personally speaking, it looks like a random CTD; these happen. If it is MM related, make sure you are running v2.6.6. I'm running Linux x64, 32GB; run a heavily modded install and it loads fine. I approach the KSP hard 16GB upper limit. Also, check ~/.config/unity3d/Squad/Kerbal Space Program/Player.log to see what that tells you. Next, try unzipping and overwrite all the original KSP except the GameData folder. I've had installs that ended-up borked and that helped. I've 87 add-ons and it takes about 4m to load. Get yourself a SSD. 25m load time is horrendous. It may actually be your processor. My Setup: Kerbal Space Program - 1.0.4.0 (LinuxPlayer) OS: Linux 3.19 Ubuntu 15.04 64bit CPU: Intel® Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8) RAM: 32143 GPU: GeForce GTX 560 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 (1024MB) SM: 30 (OpenGL 4.5 [4.5.0 NVIDIA 346.59]) RT Formats: ARGB32, Depth, ARGBHalf, RGB565, ARGB4444, ARGB1555, Default, DefaultHDR, ARGBFloat, RGFloat, RGHalf, RFloat, RHalf, R8
  5. Thanks for that, but I guess I already had the latest. It did, however, give me an idea. What ended up as the solution was to copy ~/Games/KSP_Active/GameData/spacetux/Agencies to ~/Games/KSP_Active/GameData/ContractPacks/Spacetux/Agencies Poof. No more exceptions in the log.
  6. I came to a realization. When you can view the KSP sky and call out the celestial objects WITHOUT hovering the mouse over it, you've probably played far to much KSP. [Celestial Objects in KSP] (http://i.imgur.com/AyKm72X.png)
  7. I hoping that Space Penguins, Inc is your agent. (assumption that linux=penguins=tux) I have no clue how agents work or how they are to be specified; so, I can't really dig into the files to find any potential conflicts or syntax errors. Any help would be appreciated; I don't mind doing the t/s. The logs are being spammed with the following exceptions: [EXC 16:23:01.461] ArgumentException: 'Space Penguins, Inc' is not a valid agent. ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseAgentValue (System.String name) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseSingleValue[Agent] (System.String key, System.String stringValue, Boolean allowExpression) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseValue[Agent] (.ConfigNode configNode, System.String key, Boolean allowExpression) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseValue[Agent] (.ConfigNode configNode, System.String key, System.Action`1 setter, IContractConfiguratorFactory obj, Contracts.Agents.Agent defaultValue, System.Func`2 validation) UnityEngine.Debug:LogException(Exception) ContractConfigurator.LoggingUtil:LogException(Exception) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseValue(ConfigNode, String, Action`1, IContractConfiguratorFactory, Agent, Func`2) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseValue(ConfigNode, String, Action`1, IContractConfiguratorFactory, Agent) ContractConfigurator.ContractType:Load(ConfigNode) ContractConfigurator.<LoadContractConfig>d__14:MoveNext() ContractConfigurator.ContractConfigurator:Update() [ERR 16:23:01.463] ContractConfigurator.ContractType: CONTRACT_TYPE 'TargetedMunImpact': Error parsing agent This repeats 142 with the only variation being in the CONTRACT_TYPE variable.
  8. For anyone else interested in using the Runabout or Racing pods for gathering science, here's a quick MM config to permit science storage. @PART[kap1x05runabout] { MODULE { name = ModuleScienceContainer reviewActionName = Review Stored Data storeActionName = Store Experiments evaOnlyStorage = True storageRange = 1.3 } } @PART[kapracingpod] { MODULE { name = ModuleScienceContainer reviewActionName = Review Stored Data storeActionName = Store Experiments evaOnlyStorage = True storageRange = 1.3 } }
  9. If you are one of those hapless individuals, who might get confused by the not so obvious mods, just coming to KSP here some folder/mod associations you might need: BoulderCo - part of EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements. DDSLoader - part of Real Solar System Felbourn - our generate host's private folder LackMisc - TBD JSI - Raster Prop Monitor KerbalTek - HyperEdit medsouz - Kerbal Konstructs MP Nazari - Hot Rockets NavyFish - Docking Port Alignment Indicator TriggerTech - Kerbal Alarm Clock WheelSounds - Rover Wheel Sounds P.S. Can't find a 'Lack Misc'. When I d/l LLL I only get LLL and LLL-Extra. Ideas?
  10. In the nicest possible way, they are ALL up-to-date with 1.0.2. I use CKAN to install my mods, just like I did with yours.

  12. It is in the CKAN database. It's just listed as not compatible with 1.0.2. Until the database is updated you have to install manually. Once updated CKAN will automatically list it as compatible and you can install from there (after manually removing from GameData).
  13. Hi All, I'm having a problem with the Tantares T-OMS engine. When I go to add it to a build the construction nodes disappear. This is a heavily modded install. (If you need to know what I have installed, it'd be easier to ask what I don't have installed.) Could someone help me out, please?
  14. To you and all the other <plugingin>.dll creators and maintainers ... thank you for your diligence, persistence and dedications. To all the partspack-ers, time to earn your keep again. Just kidding, each and every one of your are fantastic KSP-ers with far more talent than I. With KSP 1.0, life will, hopefully, get a bit easier for you all.
  15. I am having a problem with my latest installI; hope someone can assist. Basically, the launch goes well until the end when KSP starts compiling parts. When it gets to SpaceY, it hangs at the SYengine5mF5 config; complains with a NullReferenceException. I've included the last few lines of the Player.log and the KSP.log for reference. 16. KSP.log is reporting a warning. Searched till my eyes bled, but can't find the problem. Config in file '/home/scott/Games/KSP_Active/GameData/Wolf/TWISB-StockPatch/MMConfigs/TWISB_Squad.cfg' contains an unnamed node. Skipping
  17. I am very OaCrD and can't stand having errors in my log files. So, in an effort to broaden my horizons I've decided to delve into C# with MonoDevelop. Nothing has been done with this mod since late June, source is available and I'm game. All aboard; first stop, KSPScienceLibrary. I updated the references and built a release .dll file. Things look good except for one area, this: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at FlightGlobals.get_Bodies () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at KSPScienceLibrary.Awake () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 UnityEngine.GameObject:Internal_AddComponentWithType(Type) UnityEngine.GameObject:AddComponent(Type) AddonLoader:StartAddon(LoadedAssembly, Type, KSPAddon, Startup) AddonLoader:StartAddons(Startup) :MoveNext() UnityEngine.MonoBehaviour:StartCoroutine_Auto(IEnumerator) UnityEngine.MonoBehaviour:StartCoroutine(IEnumerator) :MoveNext() UnityEngine.MonoBehaviour:StartCoroutine_Auto(IEnumerator) UnityEngine.MonoBehaviour:StartCoroutine(IEnumerator) GameDatabase:StartLoad() :MoveNext() UnityEngine.MonoBehaviour:StartCoroutine_Auto(IEnumerator) UnityEngine.MonoBehaviour:StartCoroutine(IEnumerator) LoadingScreen:Start() Can anyone walk me through fixing this? In the meantime, I'll be researching all those routines. P.S. I've no plans to release anything nor to take over; this is just for my private learning and use. But, if the license allows it, I might make the new file available ... sans support. (Until I learn better.)
  18. This is why I made the move to linux. 64bit all the way, baby!!!!
  19. I know this is just Texture Replacer messing with things, but I thought it pretty neat.
  20. Okay I've just completed a check against a clean install. I have confirmed there is no dump functionality available. I'm running linux_64, MM2.5.1 I have a single MMConfig that modifies FASA's Explorer LFTs; nothing else is modified. There is only one unexpected error in the player log: AddonLoader: Instantiating addon 'ModuleManager' from assembly 'ModuleManager' (Filename: /BuildAgent/work/d63dfc6385190b60/artifacts/LinuxStandalonePlayerGenerated/UnityEngineDebug.cpp Line: 49) MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'LoadingScreen.get_Instance'. Hope this helps. EDIT: SOH,EXT,SXT,BS,EOT are all non-renderable characters. But, you know that.
  21. Oh, how many times I've seen/heard/said this. "I've only got a few mods." Before you know it memory is gone in a flash. Check out: Active Texture Management Just because.
  22. Yeah, it's memory. Down around the end I found this: DynamicHeapAllocator out of memory - Could not get memory for large allocationCould not allocate memory: System out of memory! Trying to allocate: 1048576B with 4 alignment. MemoryLabel: STL Allocation happend at: Line:74 in Memory overview
  23. Okay, I guess something is interfering with v2.5.1. I can't get Alt+F11 or Shft+F11 (I'm linux64) to work with anything more recent than v2.4.5. Any ideas? I'm slogging through the multitude of mods little by little.
  24. sarbian, Did you remove the database dump functionality? I haven't been able to call up the menu since 2.4.5.
