[v0.90/v.25]Transparent Pods v1.2.2 for KSP v0.90
Stone Blue replied to nli2work's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
By the license listed on the OP, looks like none... But if you do take it over, at least without talking to the original owner, then it might be a good idea to name it with 'Redux', 'Continued', or V2' at the end of te title, to keep YOUR new version from getting confused and cross-linked with the original... And THIS is why i dont think its a good idea to just be declaring someone else's mod DEAD, when you are in no way officially connected with said mod, or have no source links to list saying WHY its dead... Someone may ask about this mod, or bring it up again, where someone who can fix it can see it, but may not bother to, assuming its DEAD just become some Joe Shmoe declares it dead only due to inactivity or lack of recent updates... -
Changing forum background colour (med reasons)
Stone Blue replied to Majorjim!'s topic in Kerbal Network
If you can deal with shades of blue, here's my Stylish theme in the Spoiler... Most of the gray text fades into the background however...(I have no idea how to change the font colors, or the post backgrounds in the Activity Streams... ) ... Theres still a lot of white in some backgrounds, but CERTAINLY much better than the stock theme we are (hopefully, temporarily) stuck with... And you can adjust the width of the black sidebars by changing the % in line 58... .ipsLayout_container { max-width: 90%; BIG Thanx to @aramil , @n.b.z. & @tygoo7 for providing the base, and tips on how to customize the colors, all found here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/126650-petition-return-to-vbulletin/&page=6#comment-2311134 (And WHO uses a light gray text, on white and light blue backgrounds?!?!?...Well, I guess obviously Innvision Power Services does... blech) Our stock forum theme -
Someone please explain this RAM limitation to me.
Stone Blue replied to Dafni's topic in KSP1 Discussion
@Dafni If you are already familiar with Ubuntu, and you mainly JUST want to play KSP, I also recommend a dual-boot with Linux...(Or, put your install on a flash drive)... I triple-boot my laptop with Win7/8.1 & Lubuntu... I chose Lubuntu for the simple desktop...It only uses 250MB of RAM at idle...ALL the rest of my RAM is available for KSP... I rarely get crashes... I do sometimes stop & restart the game due to slowdowns & lag, though... i think its mainly related to heat buildup in my laptop tho...I know when my comp completely shuts down, its due to the heat, anyway... lol -
Vent-able tanks
Stone Blue replied to Gojira1000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
x2 I use TAC also... HOWEVER, it would be nice to see something like ventable tanks become stock, just for submarine ballast uses... -
Besides the other reasons stated, imagine you are in an aircraft, that has just had a catastrophic failure, and you are going down, QUICKLY.... Like in under 60 secs.... Could YOU type out a Morse code message giving a mayday, even a quick explanation of the "event", and most importantly, up to 15 numerical digits giving your Lat/Long so searchers can find you? And, again, ALL error free?...ESPECIALLY on the coords?

Per-resource crossfeed
Stone Blue replied to damerell's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Maybe an option to enable/disable it in right-click?.... Simple enough to satisfy BOTH sides of the argument? -
Selected ships in map view
Stone Blue replied to mvk's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Thanx... But I know that...Thats why the lol at the end of my sentence... I added the 2nd part, and agree with this idea, as there is no way to separate "satellites" from "probes".... Try having just a 6-sat comm network (4 KEO, 2 polar); a 24-sat GPS network in HKO; or 4 space stations; several manned craft; and some ACTUAL probes all in orbit at the same time...THEN tell us one craft's orbit, or one craft can be picked out of the "spaghetti"... Oh, and yes, you can sort of use the omni/dish/all icons in the bottom right to SORT OF, hide some craft, but again, very limited in specificity... -
Stupid Keostationary contract won't complete
Stone Blue replied to Tex_NL's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hmmm... I'm sure you know some contracts have time requirements, such as once you meet all contract requirements, another is that you have to hold and maintain, stably, some requirement(s) for a given length of time... Maybe someone forgot to show a required time requirement to the list of contract requirements?... lol -
Selected ships in map view
Stone Blue replied to mvk's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
An even better solution would to be able to filter out different craft.... lol Oh wait!... An even BETTER solution would be the ability to click a craft/object, and have it "disappear" from the current view... Maybe have a "reset view" button to show all filtered craft again... -
cxg2827, i dont know how much you want to "maintain" this thread, but maybe occasionally go thru the thread, and add direct links to relevant posts as they get added, to the OP... That way we can get the actual tips & trips right from the OP, instead of having to read thru and filter thru any questions or "chaff" discussions, over time, especially if this thread gets to be pages and pages of discussion... ??? EDIT: lol... pretty much what Captain posted right above me, which i didnt see...lol

I read a ways back, and last I found, was that Unity 4.3.4 was the last Unity version that could be used with the 0.23 Tools... Is that still true, or can we use the current version of 4.x.x?

Stupid Keostationary contract won't complete
Stone Blue replied to Tex_NL's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I really have no idea, but heres a thought...Do you have an omni antenna on the sat that has the range to fully cover Kerbin?...IF not and you are using a dish, is the dish actually POINTED at Kerbin, and I assume if you have a dish, you already have it set with Kerbin as target...??? I only ask, because I dont know if dishes need to also be physically pointed, so their target falls within the cone...??? -
[1.1] NavUtilities, ft. HSI & Instrument Landing System
Stone Blue replied to kujuman's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Less memory, and it is now native format for KSP sonce 1.0... I was also thinking there may be a small chance that might be why the display seems dimmer in 1.0.5... I'm guessing something got changed with the textures...Maybe emissive shaders?... -
Have you seen this: (a "checklist") MJ Ascent Guidance Wiki You DO have "Engage Autopilot" checked? Throttle is set to max? Is the staging showing correctly on the left? (Sometimes coming out of the VAB, the staging re-organizes itself) I dont mean to sound like a jerk, but this IS obviuosly a question from a new MJ user, and you didnt give much detail...

[1.1] NavUtilities, ft. HSI & Instrument Landing System
Stone Blue replied to kujuman's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hmmm... Can the texures be converted to .dds, or are the names hard-coded anyplace? -
This still worx in 1.0.5... Hopefully 1.1 wont break it...I've heard the whole GUI is finally gonna get a rework for 1.1... Also, figured I would let everyone know, who uses RPM in any of their IVAs: These custom textures work in RPM! Here's the high contrast texture I last posted (I changed the black to a dk.blue): All you have to do, is edit your texture in an editor, and flip it horizontal AND vertical (so its upside down AND text is backward)...Then save it and convert it to .dds Then go to the ASET_Props/MFDs/ALCORPFD/ folder, take the existing NavBall000.dds, and move it OUTSIDE your main KSP folder...Then replace it with your custom texture (name your texture NavBall000.dds, of course...)...Then, PROFIT!
-
OK... I remember now!...lol Thanx for reminding me...I was gonna try a custom texture...but didnt get aroound to it cuz i couldnt convert mine to .dds at the time... It WORX!
-
Oops..You ninja'd me on my edit on my previous post...Start reading the RPM thread from the link i posted...
