Like I said, only a guess. And yeah, they could do the Friday before Christmas and just call it a early Christmas gift, or they could wait until next Friday, but the chance of Christmas Day, imo, is not 'close to zero'. Moderate comments? Turn them off until you come back. Answer questions? I've never seen the KSP youtube channel answering comments. Fix any possible mistakes? Okay, yeah, that one is a biggy, but that's a risk some other youtubers take with scheduled videos, and I'm willing to bet Intercept is willing to take that risk as well. Besides, they could take down the video and upload a fixed one if need be when they return and apologize for the screw up. Friday and the next are both tied up in Holidays. Anything we get will probably be, imo, either Today (Wednesday), Tomorrow (Thursday), or Monday to Thursday next week.

Hmmm, looks a little strange, can't figure out why tho... Nope. Still can't see anything wrong. More experimenting with CameraTools. Decided to go from the side of the rocket instead of behind it so I don't get just giant SRB plume shots. This is how you do dual payload, right? Hey! Wait for me brother! Um, thee uh... calculations for reentry might have been a tad off. Full album: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Ghostii implied that December would be different, though never said how it would be different. With the way things went, we usually got a Dev Diary one month and a Show and Tell the next, and it would continue this order. One assumption I have is that we will get both in one month. My assumption on the time frame of the Show and Tell is Christmas Day. I would bet the Youtube Video is already uploaded and is unlisted, scheduled to be released Christmas Day. What that Show and Tell may be, I don't know. If I had to guess, I would say it might be a 5-to-10-minute uninterrupted gameplay video. Another assumption I have is that the team at Intercept has cooked up some kind of Christmas gift for us. What is the gift? Dunno, and honestly, there are tons of things they could give us. Straight up gameplay video, a live stream in which they do a Mun mission, an update to KSP 1 to tie KSP 1 and KSP 2 together, a dev diary with all the devs talking about their contribution to this passion project, a 30-minute demo released on steam to all the owners of KSP 1 and so much more! Of course, these are my assumptions, and don't reflect anyone else's. I'm also doubtful that we will get anything big, i.e. the 30 min demo or 10-minutes of uninterrupted gameplay. Of course, of course, we all know what people say about assuming. Makes an... you probably know the rest. So while I do have assumptions, I don't really put any weight behind them. I just know this, whatever we get, and whenever we get it, I will be grateful and happy that the team once again chose to share something with us.

How do we think Communications will be handled?
GoldForest replied to GoldForest's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Firstly, I see what you did there. Secondly, LOS isn't really a problem. All you would need is 5 probes at all 5 LaGrange points and you're golden. Or put 3 comm sats into a polar orbit around Kerbol. Thirdly, dishes drawing power at a steady rate is actually a good optional difficulty slider option. IRL dishes do require some power to receive data. -
I believe it will be. KSP 2 EA launch will essentially be KSP 1 1.12, just with a face lift, a few new parts, and MANY under the hood upgrades of course. If they deliver as promised, I have no doubt that it is ready for EA. As for the giving a try, Intercept specifically started in one of the videos, that's what they want. They're targeting those people, as well as the people who passed over KSP 1.

I'm not worried about frame rate that much. Nate Simpson said in the interview with PC gamer, that the latest footage released was 3 months old and that they had significantly improved the frame rate and continued to do so. Of course, grain of salt is always advised, but with how he speaks with such passion about KSP 2, I have no reason to doubt him really. Of course, this is EA, that what's it's for, to catch bugs and for optimization. If the FPS isn't that great at launch of EA, it will slowly improve with updates, but a new update might also tank the FPS because it changed something under the hood, so choppy frames are almost a guarantee from time to time. -66 DAYS 00 HOURS 47 MINUTES 20 SECONDS-

Messed around with recreating Thor IRBM, but using it for purely scientific purposes. Here Thor sends up a reentry test vehicle. For anyone wondering how I got a fairing on, I created a custom fairing around the WRESAT and then translated the Thor rocket over it. Full album: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

RP-1 was never technically in game. LFO could be seen as kerosene or rp-1 since it powers both rockets and jets. But to answer your question, to paraphrase the devs, kerbals have basically moved beyond the need for LFO/Kerosene and work now with methane.

Decided to do some fictional upgrade paths, should the Delta III have gotten a long career path. I created the Delta III 8430H and the 8930H. The 8430H is a Delta III with 4x Gem-60s instead of 9x Gem-46s. The 8930H is a Delta III with 4x Gem-60s and 5x Gem-46s. All 5 of the 46s are air lit type. The test payload is a 5 ton dummy payload to a 100km x 100km equatorial orbit. The 8430H finished with a mere 100 to 200 m/s left in the tank while the 8930H would have had around 300 to 500 m/s left. I say would have, because I kind of screwed up and had to burn up to keep it from falling back into the atmosphere. Oops. Also, Mechjeb didn't like it for some reason. Kept taking a steeper ascent, putting the vehicle horizontal way earlier than it should have, so I had launch it a second time and adjusted the profile a little, probably losing DeltaV in the process. I also played around with CameraTools mod for the launch of the 8930H. Full album: Imgur: The magic of the Internet Delta III 8430H: Delta III 8930H:

I understand the reasoning, but they could have still had Kerosene, Methane and Hydrogen, and still made it easy for new players to understand, imo.

Decided to build an enlarged Delta 3. I call it, Delta 3L(arge) It goes from 3.125m at the top to 1.875 at the bottom. It uses 16 total Gem-46s, 12 in ground mode, 4 in air mode. (Technically it should have only 15, but I wanted 16 for a good even round number.) It has two RS-27s. The payload is a dummy one weighing 5 tons. It was able to get this dummy payload up to 100.5 km x 99.5 km at a 110 degree inclination. Yep, that's a near polar retrograde orbit. It has a bit of DeltaV left. About 1,273 m/s, so it can push the payload into a slightly higher orbit if need be. I also played around with Hullcams. Edit: I took it to 2.03 Mm x 2.02 Mm and still have 107 DeltaV left. Hmmm. Perhaps. I'm still on the fence on a Methalox Vector.
-
Sorry, I meant nerfing as in not making it Hydrolox. Hydrolox would have given it much more ISP than Methalox. That's how I feel it's been nerfed.
-
If they are giving us an RS-25 Methalox engine, they just nerfed the RS-25 (Vector) I think.
-
You said "All those engines are methalox," yet the Vector is in the picture. Edit: Also, I missed that all Liquid Fuel engines are now Methalox, so my bad. But's its weird that the Vector, an RS-25 based engine, is getting a Methalox version instead of a Hydrolox.
-
The Vector is definitely not Methalox, unless they do indeed have fuel switching for engines, or are putting multiple of the same engine with different fuel types.
-
The Terrier has been made into a Methalox engine? Interesting. I would expect it to be Kerolox or Hydrolox, not Methalox... unless... they have fuel switching for engines?

Large fuel cells for colonies
GoldForest replied to Strawberry's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I wonder if the new planet system will allow for hollow planets, with some modding effort involved of course. A dyson spehere planet like from Halo 4 would be interesting to explore imo. -

Imagine KSP 2 if they allowed Dyson Spheres or Dyson Swarms. -
I will admit, Noctuas are a little pricey, but they are worth it. If you want a cheap air cooler, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a good option and performs rather well from what I've heard. AIOs come with the problem of a possible leak though. Even from the reputable brands like Corsair, and that's what worries people, I think. Yes, the chance of a leak is slim, but it's not zero.
