  1. Thsi did not surprise me. I found the whole thing to be goofy from the start.
  2. I look forward tracking this in the sky. It supposedly spins at 60 r/min. Its intrinsic brightness will be very low but if you get hit by its reflection of the Sun, it will probably appear at least shinier than Sirius. And if you happen to be in the right place at the right time, you might see it blinking few times. It will reenter in nine months or so, therefore it's not an issue of orbital debris at all, but it is an issue for astronomers. Its purpose is very similar to Mayak which has failed to deploy its reflective surfaces.
  3. Barely. This is pretty much how it looks like. Hazy, creamy gray with a weak bluish tint. Those circus photos you saw were made by people who value some things more than reality.
  4. No, Jupiter has no hexagons, Saturn does, and it's not green, either... Jupiter's poles are dull, absolutely not like the images that are being shared around, which are highly enhanced with color saturation and contrast. It's sad, really. People are being taught a lie, that Jupiter's poles are blue like some nice lagoon. That's called clickbaiting by the public relations departments.
  5. Yeah... no. Some things I just eyeball. Indeed I will.
  6. I like it, but the pole is unnaturally green. What's up with that?
  7. I wish I got some coal. Like, proper coal, not charcoal for bbq.
  8. I don't know yet. Possible targets include Ablate, Ascension and Inaccessable. I don't really care for other places because they're mostly either boring, offering nothing, or artistically unrealistic and goofy beyond anything. But as I say, I don't know. I've got other things to do and this is time consuming. In order for such deep space missions in KSP to work out without major problems, planning is tedious, not to mention the eyecandy screenshots and story, something I tend to keep short as possible because, let's be serious, seldom anyone has the time and the will to read walls of text. Kron 6 has reached the periapsis which dipped very close to the orbit of Eve. Orbital speed was 14.7756 km/s at that point which is enormous.
  9. Inclination correction at Jool's orbit distance, while it's still cheap fuelwise. The crew is still sleeping. Kerty reports 2/3 radiators breaking down, as well as engine itself failing and overheating at full thrust.
  10. Falling from Plock takes more than a decade and the onboard supply of uranium is dwindling so Gerty plotted a course that would take little over seven years to reach Kerbin, although at a cost - considerably higher speed of impact. Increased speed also shows as higher aphelion. After the main burn, all but the very tiniest reactor output has been shut down. Again, the ship is a plummeting missile, but this time thrown instead of dropped. Almost six years have been spent to get from Neidon's to Urlum's orbital distance. Trajectory correction will be done once the ship passes Jool's orbit.
  11. Wow, I had no idea this was four years old. Time flies so fast. Thanks, folks. Kron 6 has fired its engine. The crew decided it's best to leave the Plockian system with barely enough speed, to avoid making large changes of the final orbit around Kerbol. 45 m/s was used and a bit more than hundred days later, the ship emerged from Plock's SOI. Crew had a nice view of the system before they went to cryosleep and Gerty took over. Beros, Kyx, Karen and Plock in an isosceles triangle.
  12. It's possible kraken will attack when your terrain rendering is not at maximum settings. I haven't tried it myself (I play on highest settings) but it's a plausible explanation. Landing on this comet is not really landing. It's more like rendezvous with a specific point on the ground. KAS hooks work wonderfully with this, making Rosetta-style missions doable in a realistic way. There are such mods, although they aren't realistic and add procedurally generated small lumps. This mod just made an existing body appear realistic against stock planetary bodies. I will consider it in the future, thanks.
  13. I'm glad you're feeling better and hope you're doing physiotherapy.
  14. I've been trying to contact few people since late spring in regards to making a very simple one part mod (for now) but it seems that won't work and I don't want the idea to go to waste. Basically I need someone who can make a 3D model when provided with a blueprint. Nothing insane, just very simple shapes. I'm not into pulling my hair learning how to work with Blender just to make simple stuff and I don't have issues with crediting people for their work. If anyone is interested, please send me a message in inbox.
  15. Must be something else. KSP doesn't read compressed files, as far as I know... And I do have the latest Kopernicus. Everything is fresh as it can be...
  16. Thanks, but that solution is like the infamous "have you tried turning it off and on again?"... Everything said in the quote already exists in the downloaded folder. Just to be sure, I've redownloaded everything separately even earlier this day. Nothing changed.
  17. This is my first time trying to use RSS, but it doesn't work. The game doesn't crash. I've got the patch installed. It just doesn't show up. Kerbol system is unchanged. What could be the issue?
  18. No, I don't upload crafts. Yay, update! (I'm really dragging this along...) The ship is still in orbit of Kyx and it's time to prepare it for departure. Laboratory was detached to become a permanent, although abandoned, Kyx station. After that, Knugen lander was depleted of useful, and stuffed with useless material. Together with the greenhouse, it was attached to the laboratory. The ship was reassembled and artificial gravity torus reopened. Almost 1000 m/s of delta v was gained by this rearrangement.
  19. Nice work. It should be stock game behaviour.
  20. Yes, it is. That only means one thing - KSC is full of crap.
  21. Excellent, I missed this. I'll test it ASAP.
  22. Realistic Ascension is compatible with KSP v1.3.1, provided that you have the latest Kopernicus. Enjoy your comet chasing!
  23. That's an electrical screwdriver. Thanks, but I always use the same old DRE flag. I've actually designed the Deadly Reentry logo you see in KSP menu and since then I'm using the flag version as the official flag. That middle part of the flag you made is especially interesting.
