[1.1.2] B.R.O.K.E. - Beta 4 - 05/26/2016 - Now with gameplay!
HafCoJoe replied to magico13's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Hmm, I sadly can't myself code so I'd have to bribe someone to do it for me. - Any chance you're a fan of Cowboy Bebop or pizzaoverhead's soundtrack editor mod? I'm making a Cowboy Bebop OST playlist for it's next official release. Perhaps that's a bribe enough? I can always give shout outs on YouTube or Twitch too -

HafCoJoe replied to pizzaoverhead's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I've got 124 songs left to listen to (only 30 second-ish of each) and sort out into genres before I can group them by sound and then get them into playlists After all this I'll hop to sorting out the Cowboy Bebop OST.- 779 replies

Oh you gotta binge watch it now: http://kissanime.to/Anime/Cowboy-Bebop/Episode-001?id=2147 No excuses man - Or if you want to get to know the characters a bit quicker go watch the movie. - It doesn't share any secret info about the show. It's on that same site in fact. - Cowboy Bebop is a space-western widely known as having one of the greatest soundtracks in all of animated film. The main theme song is a strong contestant for the #1 title too. It's got about 7 hours worth in OST and I've probably listened to every song at-least ten times . Some of them over a hundred.- 779 replies

Coloured craft markers in map view
HafCoJoe replied to THX1138's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
This would be awesome - no more issues with figuring out which orbit belongs to which craft when docking. I feel it would make the quality of life a lot easier. -
[1.1.2] B.R.O.K.E. - Beta 4 - 05/26/2016 - Now with gameplay!
HafCoJoe replied to magico13's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I hope your honeymoon is going well @magico13! Congrats man . Quick question on a possible configuration. I'm planning on starting up a "career" stream (After a 6 month break) but with some very... unique settings... For simplicity, I'm going to call it "Careerbox". It's essentially going to be a sandbox game, but with science reports enabled and science points as a scoreboard and a monthly budgeted income as a means of preventing instant rocket building tied in with Kerbal Construction time to limit that as well. It would replace a vast portion of the grind with simple time-warping and be a very compelling form of career mode for other veteran players since it would start with all parts unlocked (or possibly locked until you take time to research them). There's a couple of core pillars that this "gamemode" would be based around. The most complicated bit, Funds would be reworked to be based around a monthly income, and with each deposit you lose a bit of reputation. Contracts would still be a means of gaining reputation and funds, but not required to progress. Only there if you want them. Also, the higher your reputation the more money you receive with each deposit and the lower your reputation the less money you receive with each. This way if you do well you can progress quickly, but if you start dropping below the norm, it could take you years of extra time warping to gain enough funds for your next big projects. The last point is that all parts start unlocked. You would still gain science though through reports and other usual means, but you wouldn't spend it. . It would be a sort of "scoreboard" for your game.I'd probably include No More Science Grind or another mod to prevent having to revisit the same locations and reducing boredom. The end goal for this setup is simply to collect all science. - I'm curious if this kind of thing would be doable with B.R.O.K.E? I would definitely be playing it with a minimalist KCT install as well as another means of limiting how quickly you could build rockets. I sadly can't code and I've got no clue how I would attempt to add this type of thing to B.R.O.K.E. though. -
[1.1.2] KSPCasher: Cash Economy Rebalance [0.2.1] 22 May 2016
HafCoJoe replied to astat's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@inigma I very much like your ideas - The way that I want to play I'd disconnect science entirely from nodes and funds - it would just be a number that increases as you play. I'd practically run a Sandbox save, but with science enabled (To keep a score and give me something to do) and a weekly budget to keep me from cranking out rockets within week one. -

Just finished copying the 2.5 GB of source music I'll be using for my first playlist. I'll probably be using 50-ish songs from Jahzzar's works in the playlist I'll be pitching but it could amount to more if I find even more ways to use music. I'm also preparing, sorting, and backing up everything on my PC in preparation for a clean Windows install I plan on doing within the week. Moving Windows over to an SSD Speaking of which, Pizza would it be possible to play tracks based on your distance to objects? I.E. If you're within [X] meters of the magic boulder play [Y] playlist? If it sounds too convoluted to do in a timely manner don't worry about adding it Just an interesting thought.- 779 replies

Hehehehe - Also I just noticed you just passed your 4000th post while answering my question OMG CONGRATS!!!

I'm actually much more of a fan of Windows 10 then Windows 8.1 - the menu system is a lot more intuitive. You're positive though that if I where to wipe my discs and do a clean install, I could still use the same win 8.1 key to install Windows 10? EDIT: I did some asking around before posting here on microsoft help and someone answered as well with matching info. It sounds like I have nothing to worry about
-
I'd actually love to do a full reinstall myself (I had some... interesting issues with windows 10 seizing upon reaching the login screen when I first installed it and it had some taskbar GUI issues which have since resolved on this install. A new fresh install would ease my conscience) BUT that would mean reinstalling windows, which I can't do as I bought windows 8.1 and upgraded from that. I don't think I can install windows 10 from the same key/disk. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
-
Sounds good. I haven't done anything with the default defragging that Win 10 has which means it's set to do do an automatic defrag every week. Is this a bad thing? I'm putting in my first SSD and I'd love to know any small or important details.
-
Question... would it be bad to have an SSD, and HDD, and a Hybrid drive all in the same machine? All three are different companies but that shouldn't matter. What I'm worried about is the fact that the Hybrid drive automatically moves the programs that you use the most on to it's small built in SSD. I'm worried that that could do odd things with my SSD.

Sweet that's great to hear! @Neptunian, any luck?

Dude that would be amazing! It's awesome that you think you can use your own recorded sound effects . - Wanted to say sorry for posting for you in the above comment though... I should probably refrain from that.

Aye! Mythbusters taught me that

PizzaOverhead is a busy guy I bet this is still in his radar, if maybe low priority. Don't quote me on this though - I agree that this is one of the more touching mods for that special water touchdown
-
There's a drop down menu for how to install each compatibility pack. I think Ven's revamp might have it's own ReadMe in the download too? Don't quote me on that though

If you're curious as to some of the songs I'm planning on using, this song is going to be the "main" docking song. I'm a big fan of ambient tracks in space, but I feel that docking could also have a more heavier rhythms as it's a surprisingly intense endeavor. I plan on using tracks 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 in the album for my docking playlist. This song is one of a few that I plan on having in my reentry playlist. If anyone cares to listen to Jahzzars music and give me some more titles that I could use in the reentry playlist I'd love suggestions. The beginning is more sudden and loud than I like though, so I'm probably going to manually fade it in. It gets very good at around 48 seconds. I don't have many other songs for my reentry playlist though. All songs are going to be from Jahzzar for simplicity.- 779 replies

Well, I'm not sure how many of you would be interested or would be able to make it, but I'll be streaming building a friends first computer and rebuilding my own machine in a new case (Corsair 400Q) and adding a new processor (i7 6700k) tonight at 9PM E/6PM P. If you all have any questions or just want to hang out, feel free to join me. It'd be nice to meet a few more Kerbinauts https://www.twitch.tv/avera9ejoe

I remember that you had difficulties with multi-channel tracks back in 1.0 too. Sorry to hear that it's still an issue for KSP Your method of storing music sounds fantastic though! Just the kind of thing I was hoping for to make sharing and storing music easier- 779 replies

1st install TextureReplacer and ModuleManager, than grab this updated TR reflections plugin and put it in the TR plugins folder. After that just copy and merge copy GameData from the .zip to your KSP directory (including the .cfg file). That's all.
