  1. Those look amazing. I always disliked how cartooney KSP's planets looked, and have been using real-life textures instead. I might just switch over to this once the update comes out.
  2. Wait, it launched already? Aw, I though it was going to be later.
  3. Let's hope it goes better than the two that preceeded it.
  4. Try replacing detail1.png with the one from stock EVE. That solved the exact problem for me, without needing to convert the particle textures.
  5. Place the new texture in the Default folder and rename it according to the OP. For example, for a new Duna texture it should be renamed Duna5_00. No cfg editing required.
  6. They said that there was no destruct signal sent, and that the second "explosion" was probably due to aerodynamic stress.
  7. All I can think about are those kids that designed the worm experiment. Hope they can have another one ready for the next ship.
  8. Thought it was a stage separation...
  9. Looks like a pretty solid list. I'd also recommend Texture Replacer and Environmental/Visual Enhancements as a great way to pretty up the game. Trajectories wasn't really working for me last time I tried it; it failed to correctly calculate a Duna aerocapture. But that was a month or two ago, so it may have been fixed.
  10. You can get around the part placement bug by saving, exiting the VAB, and entering again.
  11. The one on the left is probably Charon. Pluto is reddish and thus probably has a higher albedo.
  12. Kerbal Attachment/Inventory System and Extraplanetary Launchpads allow you to do this. I just launched a huge colony ship from a base orbiting Minmus using nothing but material mined from the surface.
  13. This looks awesome! I'm mostly through the tech tree already, but I'll keep this one in mind for my next save.
  14. Is that required? I don't see it listed in the OP.
  15. I think I'm experiencing a bug. Spares don't seem to appear as a resource, and I can't take any from my pods to repair failed parts.
  16. Wondering if anyone can help me. This isn't a bug report and it doesn't directly relate to KSPRC, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to use KittopiaTech to put rings around Laythe. What I've done so far is duplicate the Jool ring texture and rename it laythe_ring.png. I then duplicated Jool.cfg, renamed it Laythe.cfg, and changed the values to this: PlanetLaythe { AdditionalData { Stock = True AddAtmoFx = False AtmoWaveColour = AddOceanFx = False AddRings = True Rings { Ring { Tilt = -8 OuterRadius = 18700 InnerRadius = 19200 Colour = RGBA(1, 1, 1, 0.999) } Ring { Tilt = -8 OuterRadius = 16500 InnerRadius = 18500 Colour = RGBA(1, 1, 1, 0.999) } Ring { Tilt = -8 OuterRadius = 14100 InnerRadius = 16400 Colour = RGBA(1, 1, 1, 0.999) } } } } I would have asked about this on the KittopiaTech thread, but it's discontinued. EDIT: Nevermind, it seems to be working now.
  17. Is there any place I can download png versions of the textures?
  18. Sent up the final (for now) module for my servicing station. Once my Kerbal crew is aboard, I'll shoot it off to an equatorial Minmus orbit where it will service my fleet and even serve as a shipyard for future vessels (once I figure out how to work Extraplanetary Launchpads properly...).
  19. While eclipses are common in the Kerbal universe right now, they never seem to actually make things dark. Sure, they make solar panels useless for a few minutes, but there's no shadow. So Laythe can orbit right behind Jool and never go dark, and vice versa. Are there any mods that add eclipse shadows?
  20. I'm sure they'll be able to create a true-color "photo" from what they get.
