  1. This is awesome! Glad to hear about progress with MP... so I know when my pirate fleet can be ready for pillaging.
  2. I've just been quietly working on new ships and land units... Hopefully things will get interesting once SQUAD comes out with MP in the future. (Which they did say could potentially happen once the game is done for the most part.) Reason being, most (if not all) of our warships are suited perfectly for turn-based combat. Once some form of stable MP comes out (such as a DMP update that fixes some of its bugs, or an official MP update), ships will need to be adapted for use in real-time combat. In that scenario, they'd need to be fast, tough (but not so much so that they are flying fortresses), maneuverable, and have high-velocity, rapid fire munitions so that they can attack targets quickly, then escape. That's just my opinion, and why I'm switching gears somewhat towards developing SSTOs and dropship-type craft, as they're likely the types of craft that will be adapted into MP-grade fighters when the time comes. EDIT: I'm still hoping to battle, though. Anyone up for this?: Dres 3 ships (1 small, 1 medium, 1 large) Max tonnage: 350 standard guidelines/rules apply, and no carriers. Standalone fighters are A-OK, but they must use missiles smaller than 1.25 meters. Landing is allowed, provided you're crazy/skilled enough to pull it off.

  4. I'm interested in joining.. but I'm still not sure how big of an impact all those mods would have on my RAM usage. Advice?

  6. I finally made a stock MK3 SSTO that works! It still needs some work (to make cargo carrying function and to add power generation and docking), but it's a start!
  7. Sadly, I really don't have any field-able tanks as of now, though the recent turret bearing setups people have put out have piqued my interest...

  11. That might be it, since I've checked everything on my end (and it's all clean), and it always seems to be the same adsense ad every time in the top ad banner before I get redirected.
  12. I'm having this problem as well, and I use Norton for internet security. I've not had any viruses at all in recent history, and this only happened when I tried to view the forums today.
  13. Not really, but that's kinda old and really doesn't fit this very well, since many players (myself included) generally disregard any sort of "official" classing systems since they tend to obstruct creative ship development and usage. On top of that, there's really no need for one.

They're OK, I'd just advise making a fighter design that can carry a 1.25 meter missile (even if if dwarfs the fighter), since most armor is designed to defeat standard I-beam torps (that are often used on fighters and against them) and therefore make fighter attacks a sort of gamble, since if you can't snipe out the hostile ship's engines or supposed "weak spot", the fighter becomes more of a pest than actual threat. - - - Updated - - - I use the rover bodies as up-armoring-style ablative armor sometimes, but they only really add a bit of extra weight and parts just to block I-beams and provide excess battery capacity.

My missiles (whilst meant to perform similarly as anti-ship weapons) are fully indigenous in design, although I did use the same rockets for propulsion on them as Zeke's "Poppers" do: The Rockomax 48-7S, which used in a 6-to-8 engine ring, works quite wonderfully for hurling high-impact warheads at a target.
  17. Fancy little (as in somewhat short in length) 1.25 meter missiles made by Zekes for his newer ships; they seem to have an uncanny capability to "pop" the hulls of enemy ships, perhaps due to immensely part-clipped warheads.
  18. I'll fight you. I've got some new ships, plus an all-new weapon meant to counter the "Poppers" that everyone seems to be making... Examples below (this includes some testing images of WIP hulls): (New missile being test-fired:) I also have several other designs waiting in the wings, but some need refinement and others are uber-partcount-heavy. EDIT: Whoops, forgot to say which planet sounded good... Hmm.... Dres, perhaps? It never gets any love it seems.

  20. I'm working on new ships to supplement the two-or-so new models I've actually completed.. but I keep running into builder's block. Oh well, some SSTOing and experimentation should fix that quick.
  21. Zeke's ships, my ships, Megalodon's ships, and the others on here are all great ways to check out different designs and learn from them. Also, something I'll suggest is to test out your craft against comparable vessels by loading up battles (persists) that people have posted (but that you're not directly involved in), and using the save for it as a sort of "firing range". It helped me in the past with developing my tactics and refining my somewhat homebrew munitions.
