  1. Yup. I made sure to up-armor the entire hull, leaving space inside to prevent parts from piercing the hull and hitting the internals, plus I added engine nozzle guards to help prevent engine damage. The ship (SX-12, since my SX-11's still a WIP battlecruiser) should be quite effective, since I also managed to stay below 520 parts with a full ammo load.

  3. So, I finally managed to make a new hull that works, and that I quite like. More info tomorrow...
  4. No, it's perfect. If you added pylons with docking ports inside the ring, it'd make a great shipyard.
  5. I think I might need to make a few new capital ships (to replace/augment my existing fleet), and make some new landing-capable fighters.
  6. I'd recommend using i-beams instead of disk rockets.
  7. Just finished working on this bad boy... Now to arm it, and move on to making some new space vessels. EDIT: Managed to pull off some really advanced acrobatics with this, at over 200 m/s the whole time... I think I'm ready to turn this into a fine fast-mover. Also, yes: that center section IS a cargo bay.
  8. That was just... too awesome for words alone. MU FLEETCOM Exodus Initiative activated. HKA will continue to have full MU support in fighting GMI, even if it means direct combat between MU and GMI forces. In other words, more ships are coming. Count on that.
  9. I'd advise making fighters around a structural part core, since having lots of exposed fuel tanks is kinda risky in KSP combat. Nice shape though.
  10. Zekes, I concede. I wasn't planning on this, but here's why: 1. My new ship is a mutt. It simply has become a bit... overgrown, to say the least, and I think it'd be better if I took my time to make new craft and use the lessons learned from this battle to enhance them. 2. I've got other projects I'd like to work on currently. 3. I've underestimated how much work it would take to upgrade my armaments for 0.25. (Weapons, not ships.)
  11. This looks very sleek! I like it. Just like Frozen Heart said, most KSP warships look like bricks (mainly due to the practicality in that shape, as it is a good shock-absorbing frame that lends itself well to armored hulls), but this looks quite unique. I like unique.
  12. Lel, it seems like Vall's turning into a KSP warzone more and more.... Imagine if this all was happening in MP; total chaos would reign.
  13. Either a very high-speed one, or a weapon with a special tip designed to wreck armor.

  15. I can imagine stuff like that happening when MP gets released post KSP 1.0 In theory, a two battles could take place in the same save... but it'd be risky.
  16. It'll be soon, just gotta swap out a weapon system on the new ship, since the one I'm replacing kept bugging out. Also, you're likely to lose a Drek when I make my move, since this ship is meant 100% to kill Dreks.
  17. Work on the ship that'll swap out for the SX-10 goes smoothly... Expect a move soon.
  18. Sure, I don't mind that. It spares the lives of two kerbals and gives them a place to stay holed up in whilst the battle rages. (The pilots of the StrangeKerb survived the attack on their ship, since the twin cockpits weren't destroyed.)
  19. You mind if I swap out the remaining SX-10 for a new ship I've got? (SX-10s probably are better suited towards fighting ships other than dreks. ) The new ship will also probably be a lot less laggy...

  21. Pretty. Also; BATTLE UPDATE!: Following the brazen attack on the Dr. StrangeKerb, the A.D.A. retaliates, quickly attacking the HMS Tanzwut. Trying to hit it from multiple angles to find a weak spot, the MU crew manage to dish out some moderate damage, with the most obvious being the large rectangular hole in the ship's side. Despite the A.D.A.'s crew wishing to continue their bombardment of the Tanzwut, MU FLEETCOM then ordered the undamaged pocket destroyer to regroup with its injured cousin in ultra-low orbit above Vall. Your move Zekes, though I will say that your Dreks are tough; but they are now proven to be not 100% invuln. Better fix that side-paneling.   23. Ahh, that makes sense. The only other time I've ever seen an SX-3 take major damage is when that happened, albeit over two separate attacks with lighter weapons. The only reason my guided rounds are copies of ZS ones is for two reasons: 1. They work well. 2. SRBs are OK, but can't really maneuver at all. You shouldn't discount i-beams, since I know from experience that I can turn a ship with amazingly strong armor and turn its innards to burnt pulp via i-beams. (If you can find the battle between me and BrightBritches on the old GNBC thread, I used that tactic there to gut his ships while leaving his hulls intact. )
