  1. Update: Added the MU SX-7 Scoutcraft to the DL Folder and album. WARNING: Slightly-high partcount (for the size of the ship) due to lots of stock-part missiles, a thick hull, and a fully detailed bridge/sleeping area.
  2. I'd be on the forums a lot more... but school and certain ship designs keep hoovering up my free time. However, I do have a new ship for tomorrow, based off of daemon' s wonderful immersive cockpit design. Also, I can't wait for that B9 battlestar cinematic to be released! I wanna see how well the Corona-class does in anti-B9 combat. Edit: Here's a pic of that ship, which'll be uploaded if I have time tomorrow.
  3. I've been watching far too many sci-fi movies lately... The Corona-class, a mid-range assault starfighter (powered via an LV-909 and 3 ions) loaded to the gills with missiles. (3 of which are guided.) The MU Type 1 Armored Freighter, an LVN-powered transport ship with an armored central hull.   4. Update: Added the all-new MU Armored Freighter to the album and DL folder. This should work well for ferrying infrastructure bits and personnel.
  5. Like War Eagle said, Eeloo'd be a good planet... but I also think Eve would be pretty neat as well, with its glowing purple cloud deck.

  7. daemon, I'll be working to get my next move posted ASAP. (Life has gotten in the way of a lot of projects lately.) Meanwhile, a little fighter that might be seeing combat in my next space battle: The Corona-class is up for DL on my company thread.   13. The MU pledges it's full and unwavering support for HKA, and hopes to provide in-field fire support (alliance) and supplies to combat the corrupt menace that is GMI! The Mechani Union was founded many years ago as a simple starship-building firm, mainly specializing in over-engineered designs and simple defense technologies. The advent of the "Spiritwolf/Hanland Crisis" caused a major shift in the company, (which then existed as "I/O Tech Innovations") and caused it to invest very heavily in SSTO and combat ship tech. However, due to economic issues, the nation on Kerbin [name not disclosed for legal reasons] that the MU was based out of suffered a severe societal breakdown, upon which the then well-equipped MU stepped in to effectively run the country (the government was "reinstated" shortly thereafter, but with MU-allied candidates). This paradigm shift for the now massive company (and geopolitical powerhouse), combined with a massive buildup of the heavy engineering, spaceflight, and defense branches of the company was the final push needed to transform it into the modern-day MU. In order to assist in the conflict between HKA and GMI, the highly-trained MU Deniable Ops force has been sent out. The MU DO fleet is the MU's black ops division, a highly-trained bunch of veteran warfighters who are equipped with the best the MU has to offer... and then MORE. (*cough* skunkworks ships [mods] *cough*) Also, the execs are a tad bit annoyed whenever MU fleets engage in direct warfare, so the DO forces are perfect for this conflict.   14. And thus, this will probably go down as a major event in KSP history (like the Great Forum Crash) if the issues aren't nipped in the bud ASAP. MY two main theories for the issues are: 1. Danny2462 was alllowed dev-level access to SQUAD servers. All hell then proceeded to break loose. 2. Whackjob started playing KSP on SQUAD's network. 3. DDOS/Hacking attack upstream, at the provider. (This is a bit doom-and-gloom, but is sadly quite realistic nowadays.) Let's hope this isn't too serious, and sorts itself out soon.
  15. Thanks! I definitely went for aesthetics with this one. It's just the buggy 'ol 3.75m decoupler. The issue is that it "works", but it doesn't exert nearly any force on the shuttle, which then gets stuck and has to burn itself free (sometimes). Also, the only real close shot I got earlier: This shot shows the decoupler, which is spaced slightly away from the tips of the aerospikes to prevent any clipping issues.
  16. My new shuttle, the Nye, clocks in at 50 tons or so with a full tank. I also have this 600-parts plus monster: (It's a warship with 12 small missiles and 12 SRB shipkiller rounds.)
  17. After a long (and somewhat frustrating) R&D cycle, the MU Crew Transfer Shuttle-24, Nye (as in Bill Nye) is ready for release! The CTS-24 is a semi-traditional space shuttle, although a tad bit more in-line with designs such as the SNC Dream Chaser or the Dyna-Soar concept. It is designed as a combined crew carrier/science shuttle, and has a very large fuel range (with a refueled tank on-orbit). Launch/Flight Album: The bird is designed to launch atop a variety of lifters (launched from the SPH/Runway), and can land as a plane, albeit sometimes with the help of dual parachutes in the tail. Flight Guide: This may vary depending on the lifter used, but is based off of using the included one. The testing normally shot for a 85x85km orbit. 1. Throttle up to max, and ignite the SRBs and 3.75 meter engine on the booster. 2. At roughly 10,000 meters (the SRBs will burn out right about then), let the SRBs burnout and ditch 'em, then pitch over 45 degrees for the gravity turn. 3. When the booster flames out, stage to separate and ignite the shuttle's Aerospikes. (If the decoupler bugs out, the booster may be incinerated. ) If the booster is intact, switch quickly and pop the chutes so it can be saved, then switch back the shuttle and burn for orbit. 4. When burning for orbit, don't be afraid to use RCS thrust for a little "boost", as the ship carries plenty. 5. Finally, once you've attained orbit, you simply perform a deorbit burn and land via gliding-in, with parachutes acting as a final slow-down method (like on the real-world Space Shuttle). /Action Groups:/ 1-Toggle Aerospikes. 2-Pop Chutes for landing. 3-Toggle (red) Docking Light.
