1. My first career mode ship is always "K-2". Always. And then most of the sandbox stuff that is not a real design for here is called like "Test VTOL" or "New VTOL" or "SSTO No3". But the first real design? I don't know. Depends on what it is...
2. It's only 455 light-years away... important, I suppose, but it's not going to show us anything in our lifetimes.
3. Really, the only limiting factor for a digital/electronic/logic calculator design here is the fact that there are no true detector parts in KSP... besides solar panels. Uncovering/obscuring those might work, somehow.
4. It is a wee bit ugly... But the smaller size is appreciated, as is the clearer text. The old ones basically needed spoilers, they were so large. Unless you really wanted it up there.
5. Indeed, the voltage required for the target 1km range using EM fields would be stupidly high and dangerous. The AM radio transmitter would work better. And we've determined it to be plausible, if unlikely. Time for phase two: Evolutionary Factors How would this come about? Genetic engineering is the easy way out; on top of that it doesn't fit the plot. What minerals/metals are needed to produce the simplest receiver, and transmitter? Note that this species is the dominant one on the planet, (though humans are present, they are not natives) and lives in colonies of between 20 and 60 members, each individual supporting the group. Human-level intelligence. So it had plenty of time to evolve without too much environmental pressure.
6. Oh. I think I know what's wrong. Gravity's force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between two objects, correct? Your objects are only a few meters (maybe a few hundred) apart. That's a problem. In real life they are MANY millions of kilometers apart.
7. If it was greatly beneficial to the species as a whole, I think it is plausible that each member might have a transmitter. [/desperate_attempt_to_save_plot]
8. Wish I could see it... school wifi blocks it. Once I get home I'll be able to see the pic. I'm also going to get started on the project at home, (get the ship, rig it for animating, send it over) where I've got my laptop. Mobile sucks.
9. *pokes head into locomotive* Hey, Gregrox! Perhaps a bit of dragonfire in the firebox will get us going faster? it's good that we're in metaspace right now; there's no wind. Didn't want to damage the Hypecoal in the tender, so I'm standing on top of the locomotive itself.
10. Scratch that last. We know who you are. (Not really) Are you guilty of backseat moderating? Symptoms include: Use of the "Report Post" button Enforcement of forum rules Requesting users to change things in their posts Not being a real Moderator And many more! I have been known to do a little from time to time. But not too often Remember, kids: Everything in moderation! *badum-tisssss* Don't shoot! It wasn't that bad!
11. 2 things: Number One: Better Signature Badge. It links to this thread with a simple click! Two: Glad to see that my banner is up! Happy gliding, everyone!
12. See, now, this is both confusing and relieving. In terms of visual appeal I find your renderings to be more complete and interesting, what with the scenery. To be frank I'm quite jealous of them. In fact, I've been attempting to use backgrounds of my own, with some success. For a friend IRL, so special exception was made. What's so special about my other ones?
13. Jah, telepathy with radio waves. Go talk about it Here
14. All the Squad team members poised above the big red button that releases 1.0?
15. If I may make a suggestion, give the ocean bits on the Laythe mock-up some specular. They're way too flat. Looking great!
16. Oh, whoops. Fixed it. Meant "Telepathic". I like the electromagnetic field manipulation idea, it sounds plausible. And as for it being "likely", that's besides the point. As stated above, I only want to determine if it's possible. And possibly use it in a novel. You saw nothing.
17. Beeeecause the North pole is the north end of the magnetic field, perhaps? We've flown by Uranus, I'm sure we conducted some experiments.
18. Many planes. Could use some text in that picture. 8/10
19. First of all, good luck with this project! As for finding those models, I doubt you will be met with much success. Though I've seen a few Kerbin models here and there, I've never seen any of the KSC buildings. *cough*youcouldgetthemoutofUnity*cough* Don't do ^this^ before you take it up with Squad, though. I'm 99.9% certain that this counts as de-compiling game assets.
