Oh, it looks like it’ll be getting plenty hot in that basket… -

This. And then they give R2D2 jets for hovering instead of repulorlifts. I’m sure they had their reasons. -

True, but I wonder if the engine that stopped on its own was on the opposite side, to balance thrust, as per flight software. At the same time, I wonder if it has enough gimbal authority to handle a single engine out. -

Oh for the love of little green dragons…. I knew I should have taken my break earlier! Great to see that they could fire it on the first attempt, even if only 31 lit. Even better that there’s no apparent damage to the hardware, although the flapping birdware may beg to differ. I’m sure the deluge helped keep future concrete replacement to a minimum -

I don’t know what setup you have, but for stuff like this I game on my laptop and put YouTube on the smart tv. OTOH, you could just leave the audio running in the background so you know when to pause the game and switch over to the feed. On the gripping hand, dual monitors are your friend, if your setup can handle it… Meanwhile, I’m stuck at work, so all I can do is check for updates on my breaks (like now). Gotta keep production up, ya know… -

I admit I got a chuckle out of it too, but pines are coniferous, not deciduous.

While true, at least this time the everything appears ready to go, unlike before when not even the launch pad/tower was complete. Depends how that full 33-Raptor static fire goes... -

My mom is also in LTC, all the way over the Alzheimer's bridge. Fortunately she falls into the "cheerfully confused" category (her adopted mother, who was always the sweetest woman, fell into the "mean, nasty b...." category when she lost her marbles). She was living with my oldest brother, who is on permanent disability after a bad car accident, until the roles reversed for a year or so until he couldn't handle it anymore (one person simply cannot provide 24-hr care/supervision). Naturally, she never wanted to go to a 'home,' and no one wanted to send her there, but when the time came there really were no other options and she no longer had the faculties to resist or even know what was really happening. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your PoV, she appears otherwise healthy and may keep ticking for many years yet. One thing about her condition is it seems to have resolved her Type 2 diabetes since she was forgetting to eat; previously she could never resist the sweet things enough
