  1. When you right-click on the instruments (baro, temp, grav) to take data, you can also toggle the display which will show you the crrent value. I'm not aware of the actual data being archived anywhere, however.
  2. .... er.. rooster fighting or dog fighting
  3. Ya, I realized the debatable part after. In that vein, I'll say.... NHL hockey! I wish they'd get back to a finesse game Seriously now, that makes me think Fox Hunting, with the good ole' hound chase
  4. Soccer! And (soccer) shoes; let the sieges begin. And an ancient sport indeed
  5. The wall seems to be made of TeflonTM Death? Armageddon/Apocalypse/Doomsday?
  6. I'll second some of those oldies, like Gattaca, Enemy Mine, and The Last Starfighter Currently enjoying watching The 100. The 4400 was good too, at least at first. I'll assume you've seen old blockbusters like The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Does the Back to the Future series count as sci-fi?
  7. It certainly sounds like something to unite the people against a common enemy... Warmongering?
  8. .... When you you try to use the arrow keys to rotate your view of a picture/video (I know everyone here has done that) ... When something falls over and you say it needed more struts ... When you can't lift something and you think "Moar boosters!"
  9. 'Tis the tune of an ancient song; The harbinger's call heralds harms, Gathers rich, poor, right and wrong. Menace be mustered with psalms And shoes; let the sieges begin. Every man has their day, Every man has their flaws and sin, But all today enter, and pray. At sovereign behest, the day is done, But only then, and not before. The endless songs are sung in fun, Yet the silent song has solemn core A call to arms? A marching song? A battle cry?
  10. I simply don't have the tools or the skills or most importantly the time to make (good and/or fancy) KSP videos, but I have a few visions for videos I'd love to see. Some of what I envision includes scenes from the official Squad videos First off would be if someone could make KSP videos to go along with David Bowie's "Space Oddity," or Rush's "Countdown" (their take on a Space Shuttle launch). No modifications to the lyrics required. Secondly, a video to go along with AC/DC's "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)." I did submit a Coub for this but didn't modify the words, again due to my lack of editing skills and tools. If someone could make a full-length video for this, perhaps adjusting the lyrics to "For those about to launch..." and/or "For those up on this rock..." (with Mun or other airless body's imagery), I think that would be simply awesome. I have no idea if permission would be needed to use these songs in order to not run afoul of copyright laws, but I don't think they'd mind. Geddy Lee is usually a good sport (Take Off, eh!). I hope someone could make my visions come true.
  11. http://coub.com/view/3b1zk My salute to KSP. Not the cleanest loop, and I was gonna dub "Launch!" in, but my video editing skills are novice at best, so, it is what it is.
  12. Perhaps you should build a 'Corona' Kerbolar Explorer I did use the phonetic system when running through the early stages of a career once: Alpha rocket, Bravo, etc... Reading this thread I came up with the name "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang" for a design that insists on becoming a firework no matter what you do to it.
  13. Or that's when you realize the transfer stage was sucking fuel out of your lander through the clamp-o-tron.
  14. I think that's so you can see just how difficult it will be to make that orbit before accepting the contract. I suppose color-coding accepted versus offered contracts would be helpful though. Maybe it already is but I didn't notice. Arsonide, I've seen this mentioned a few times but you've been curiously silent about it: Can the easter-egg anomalies be included in (some) of the rover/survey contracts? I think it would be a great way to show off the easter eggs to players that otherwise couldn't be bothered to research the anomalous locations (scansat or on the Web) and then try to pinpoint it on map view (whistles innocently ) .
  15. I guess you'll have to send Bill out to man the command pod. Or edit the persistence file, but there may be unintended, unforeseeable side effects to that.
  16. My 0.02 roots worth: Speed limiters (that have high cutoff speeds, over 100mph) are generally to keep the vehicle from exceeding the speed rating of the tires. The faster you go, the the more heat the tire generates. Too hot under driving stress and the tire will have a RUD. I remember when the Al-block, 32-valve LT-5 Corvette motor came out. The secondary intake runner had a valve to restrict the airflow at low engine speeds, for better low-RPM performance, and opened at high RPMs to unleash all available horses. The valet mode (key-lock switch) would lock that secondary valve closed to restrict the power.
  17. ... you belly-land your not-meant-to-land science station on Gilly with a single vernor to do a "science from..." contract and rediscover what you had forgotten about this station: It has no antennas!
  18. The "Because it's there" program The "Sagan" program
  19. Oh man! Did you ever see the water (or at least the rivers) in Star Wars Galaxies, when it was first released? It was simply gorgeous, so much so that I wanted to dive in! Too bad Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) totally borked that game and destroyed many players' hard work and achievements (including mine). They must have been hanging around the EA studios too much.
  20. Even the good ol' Estes paper-and-plastic-and-balsa, pre-manufactured-solid-rocket-motor kind of model rockets, with apogees ranging from 100'-3,000' (highest advertised for a 3-stage D-motored rocket)?
  21. Many sci-fi novels use the same sort of flight profile, Heinlein's Have Spacesuit, Will Travel comes to mind. It would be a great way to simulate gravity if you could generate thrust for that long without running out of propellant or energy. Even in Clarke's Rendezvous With Rama the alien Rama craft, with a reactionless (propellantless) drive, didn't accelerate constantly. As for KSP, I'd hate to sit through a days-long burn, even at 4x physics warp, even if kerbal days are only 6 hours
  22. What R.I.C. said, but also... The VOID mod is also good for showing mass and part count in the VAB, along with other useful data. I especially like the Situation/Biome part of the VOID display. To post pics you need to upload them somewhere else like imgur or other hosting sites and then paste the link into your post here. The nice thing about imgur is that it'll give you the code to paste into your post To install a mod you simply need to unzip and then drop the contents in the GameData folder of your KSP install. Some mods have the GameData folder as part of the folder structure inside the .zip, make sure you only copy the stuff inside the GameData folder of the .zip
  23. Sorry for not wading through all 85 pages of posts to see if this was answered, but.... Do or Can the rover anomaly missions draw waypoints to some of the Easter Eggs? It would be a great way to experience them. Even if it needed Scansat (which I've never used) or some such to generate the waypoints to investigate. Another feature I thought would be great is the ability to right-click a kerbal whom you just finished crashing on the Mun (for example) and find a "Generate Rescue Contract" button. Profit at the expense of Rep! I'm having a great time with this mod, thanks for all the hard work you put into it. Finally a reason to build rovers!
