  1. I have 2 that spawned/captured in kerbin orbit, and 1 that hit the planet. I've only done one asteroid rendezous so far, I haven't tried moving one yet
  2. Orion's service module looks so puny. That said, anything that gets us out of LEO is a good thing
  3. I see an orange tank and I want to paint it bla-ack/ No colours any more, I want them to turn bla-ack... (apologies to Jagger et al)
  4. I've found you have to fiddle with one direction on the man. node to get as close as it will let you, then find another direction that will take you a bit closer, then alternate those 2 directions on the node until you reach the periapsis you want.
  5. Congrats to SpaceX and Elon Musk for another successful Dragon launch, and the first (apparently) successful soft water landing of the Falcon first stage. Over at space.com
  6. Eldritch Abominations, huh? What we should have expected from a philosopher with Druid-ish pics...
  7. I am one from many, with many from one. Many related parts that make a whole, yet hopefully never finished. Some of us work in harmony, others suffer from friction. What am I? Hopefully this is harder than my previous efforts
  8. 4.1 in/gallon is probably the distance moved while the engines are burning. Coast phases while staging or between 3rd stage firings complicates things. According to the wiki, The first stage efficiency was just under 5in per US gallon, while nothing is listed for the upper stages, which should be higher because they are already at speed.
  9. Chemical reactions in the brain. Was that answer not stupid enough?
  10. Whats-his-face? WHATS-HIS-FACE!?!?!? The preferred term is whats-his-pickle, thank you I guess I should start thinking up another riddle in case nobody hits the bullseye. Hopefully tougher than my previous efforts.
  11. Did you perhaps (accidentally) tweak a tank to be half empty of ox? That's all I can think of offhand. If you were running out of fuel then I would suspect a jet engine on there somewhere. Maybe your kerbals are hyperventilating
  12. It has to be those dastardly Kamericans! Jeb supposedly splattered himself across the surface of Tylo, yet he was back at Mission Control a week later!
  13. A handy plugin to help with docking is NavBallDockingAlignmentIndicator. When you select a docking port as target, it puts a red circle on your navball. When you are pointed at the circle, your docking ports are facing each other. Then, with RCS translation (IJKL), you can move your yellow prograde marker around the navball. If you keep the purple target marker between the prograde marker and the center, you can 'herd' the target marker on top of the red circle. Then move your prograde marker on top of the other 2 markers and you're set. Hope that made sense. The plugin is a big help.
  14. So any suggestions on the best RW distribution to avoid breaking long ships, and perhaps minimizing wobble? In the middle, at the ends, or spread evenly along? I would guess the last one
  15. Ah, camping with Kerbals, this is the life. If I don't have wi-fi (and electricity, of course) when camping, then I'm roughing it.
  16. Finally getting a plane into orbit. Once there getting back down again was easy. Now I just have to land on the runway from orbit.
