  1. Now they just need to set up the canning plant for Perri-Air… (on mobile and can’t seem to get a workable link to an image…)
  2. Mine is a basically a word puzzle based on my username, although I didn’t leave it as an unsolved puzzle My last profile pic was even more appropriate, a portrait of Kzanol (a thrint) from the original edition of “World of Ptaavs” by Larry Niven. In the story, he’s been stranded on Earth for about 2 billion years. Those who recognized the pic got a good kick out of it when they noticed the username beside it…
  3. I was thinking the same thing, but one also has to account for inflation
  4. I can get a microbrew 3km to the west, or a major brand (Molson) brewed 4km to the north
  5. Yeah, the Crucial website scanned my machine and the 16GB stick I got from Amazon for C$85 was on their list of compatible modules. C$160 for the 2x16GB was out of my budget…
  6. Yes, because it's just so, so.... so kerbal! Keep up the great work, @Just Jim! Looking forward to seeing the punny humor you and the team come up with!
  7. Good day, and welcome to the the great KSP forum, @Nerdy_Mike
  8. Yes, he was. But being a political figure, we probably can't say much here besides honor him... RIP, world-changer.
  9. Thanks for the input. Can't say I want my RAM speed to go down, although 32GB is tempting...
  10. My laptop has 4 RAM slots, and currently has a single 8GB stick. I just bought a Crucial 16GB stick. Can I use both sticks at once for 24GB without a performance hit (I heard somewhere that mix&matching can actually slow it down), and if so, any particular slots? Or should I just go with the single 16GB? Also, yesterday I took the 8GB RAM and HDD out of an obsolete laptop with a broken hinge. Too bad that that RAM is 2400MHz, and I need 2666MHz. I wish more laptops had the simple access panel like that one for user-changeable components, instead having to crack the case open... I'm not crazy about cracking open the case of my laptop, even though I bought a toolkit for it, so I want to minimize the number of times I open it, hoping only once. Just waiting for the replacement speakers to arrive from China (the left speaker crackles on bass) before I crack it open to put the RAM in. Also going to put in one of the 1TB HDDs I have lying around, to supplement the 256GB SSD...
  11. I don’t recall ever hearing that anyone needed this, but I guess Eddie does…
  12. Artemis-1 will be crewed after all, by several colonies of yeast and algae. Their mission is to be exposed to cosmic rays and then studied back on the ground, to see how the different colonies fared. The experiment is provided by UBC. https://news.ubc.ca/2022/08/23/ubc-scientist-sending-yeast-algae-nasa-spacecraft-artemis-1/
  13. Dammit, my kid has to work tonight (graveyard shift stocking shelves at the grocery store). Which means I'll be picking him at 530am, so I'll miss the launch... Hope it scrubs, for purely selfish reasons...
  14. Best picture I've seen of lunar "pits" - possibly openings into ancient lava tubes... From: https://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2022/08/lro-surface-pit-temperatures/
  15. Looking forward to the update. Sorta hoping it involves disembodied doors on that beach...
  16. I was looking into Space Shuttle hot aborts (pad aborts), and came across this gem: From this article: http://www.spacesafetymagazine.com/spaceflight/launch/shuttle-launch-pad-aborts/#:~:text=Close-up view of Discovery's,(Credits%3A NASA).
  17. Meanwhile, on one of the first F9 launches, SpaceX blew Shuttle_Guy’s mind by recycling and launching hours after a hot abort…
  18. Grrr now why would they not make that video available in Canada, it can't be that top secret...
  19. Interesting choice of names; getting stoked for StokeSpace. Fairing to double as airbrake is an elegant solution.
