I actually typically use a 2 rapier config, and level out at 11,000m. I try and gain as much speed as possible from there, keeping prograde marker 5degrees above the level plane. otherwise I find, I flame out too early... But then again I've always been horrible at doing space planes, and only recently have I had some success (2-3 ton probe was biggest payload)... After reading this I will probably reconsider... -

All cinematics are done by Nassault, who is a community member not a paid dev. The rest seem to have a semi-dedicated team for WHEN THE REST OF THE ART IS FINISHED ! Really, they are a nice thing to have, instead of in the dev notes some blank spaces of "we discussed some assets of the update after the one we are doing now, can't actually start though until the rest is finished"....

New to KSP & Trying to leave the atmosphere

That's getting orbit, just do straight up for leaving atmosphere.. Sounds like you might not have enough funds (hence the missing solid fuel booster) and that you don't have enough for a control system... Use fins if you have them. You will get more control over the rocket as it gets lighter (reaction wheels in cockpit). If it really comes down to it, just spam cockpits on the sides of your rockets until something better comes along in the tech tree. If you need funds, do some of those test X landed at Kerbin. -

For the FTL idea, I kind of imagine a civ science victory... You send the mother ship to another planet, cutscene, end.... Credits, not much else other than an op engine to experiment with... The problem with a game end is that KSP has no plot, you are the KSP and your goal is to.... nothing, no overall goal only the short term contracts and science collection. So first we need to solve is what kind of plot the Kerbals could have.... maybe "Kerbal kind has been driven by technology etc. etc. , now you have to guide your fledgling program to be the first to do X and lead Y (probably Kerbal kind or the agency) to victory" and add an antagonistic system to drive the player along... Then we could have end game, but for now KSP is sandbox career or not... -

My general impression of what do you want forum posts: "WE NEED THIS MOD IT'S SO EPIC, GIVE NAOH, WHY DOESN'T SQUAD GET THESE BASIC THINGS IN" *Squad ignores for awhile, concentrating on other things, then decided because of pressure to do it* "SQUAD IS EVIL BECAUSE THEY JUST IMPLEMENT THINGS MODS ALREADY DO, RAGE QUIT" Seriously, I'm getting bored of the forums after just a couple months of being active again. On note of actual topic, I'm very glad they got all they need before the updates come quick and fast... But only joining in for the last couple weeks of 0.21 , I feel like I've come to a big event, half way through.. And now the excitement is all over....

Nope, in addition to steam version, I also have 2 active copies (copy, pasted from steam folder) and one unused/deleted copy (RSS copy, it ran way... toooo slow (and I was horrible at it...)) general impression : Linux or wait... However my 4gb ram win laptop handles KSP with mods just fine.... with or without 64bit

I imagine optimistically you might get a system that screenshots' the rocket from an angle then places it on layer x in a in-scene animation that gets played during your loading screen. If your load progress is fast, then the animation is sped up. Kind-of a camera view from the launch pad looking at the VAB. And that might get put under asthetics for a future update, I agree video files are too much so this is my best consideration for the idea.....

Okay, you try paying monthly subscriptions for another engine to try out a simple experiment about rockets, I'm sure you will like it a lot... Also note how when an engine uses unity, turning up resolution makes absolutely no difference to the game.. Unlike every other engine out there... Well just like plenty of other threads, this has turned into ''find a defect in previous posters' complaint, tell him off, then I make my own equally ill-founded complaint'' And yes, there is the irony that I play into my own concept well rather than solving it...
