    I care more about mass than funds, in any case, and the OKTO-2 is superior in any way but price. What I do to make the Stayputnik marginally superior in a niche is to give it some ablator with an MM patch, and increase its impact tolerance so that there is some chance it survives a sea crash by itself. And I don't think this is a problem just with the tech tree. The game has a sandbox mode too, after all, so any part that gets obsolete when you unlock a better one should be rethinked.

    Despite all the uses people here on this topic gave to use it, to me it's still this problem. I don't care that much for SAS, but because of this I find it is just junk on my techtree (which is a shame because I find it pretty)

    Well, the license is public domain, but it seems no download of source is officially available anymore. If someone still has the old one, maybe putting it up on GitHub might encourage some kind soul to try and update it? I could even look at it, but no promises. Yeah, I miss this one, too. edit - oh, wait, there is a download of a newer (but still outdated) version in the previous page
