  1. I'm checking forum often enough, once a day at least. You can also find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Sashan13 Hmm, I'll check it, but for sure that wouldn't be some neglectible amolunt. FAR will model it automatically, without any additional configs tho. EDIT: Apparently the simplest way would be to check the model with FAR. Can you provide some version that at least lets the game load in 1.0.4?
  2. That seems quite logical, but hmm, never had any problems. But maybe that's because I' always have no more than a couple of batteries between reactor and engine?
  3. Scatterer takes something like 30 megs of space, not a big issue IMO.
  4. Heh, it's 6 hours difference between most of Europe and West Coast. On topic - are you going to make solar arrays track the sun on 2 axes of freedom? It's possible to do it with just stock code.
  5. Okay, thanks. I've found that I need 1.5x the amount specified to keep them cool long-time tho. In which way exactly is this mod incompatible with 1.0.4? Maybe I can use just some of parts?
  6. The plugin works on AMD and even ancient ATI cards as well. I guess it was just released by Nvidia because dds is supported by nvidia. Doubt it relies on graphic card that much.
  7. Well, theya re standard DDS textures, which is standard format for games and other real-time 3d rendering. Many programs support them natively, like paint.NET.
  8. Which mods aside from planetarybaseinc use transparent pod feature?
  9. Suggestion: Can you add Argon generation from Near Future as a mod compatibility for air filter? Real argon is mostly generated as byproduct of oxygen condensing, so that would be very accurate. Also, part idea: Oxygen compressor. Basically, a container that compresses oxygen into oxidizer.
  10. Are you going to stick to proprietary liquid hydrogen resource? Many mods over here use the one from community resource pack. I, for example, use Near Future, which even adds it to stock ISRU.
  11. Yes, exactly. That allows to reduce seams, protecting it from reentry heat. I bet Space Shuttle has something similar. Can we move over to Skylon thread?
  12. Well, obviously not 100%, Jool is not Jupiter. But physics behing clouds movement stays same. - - - Updated - - - Well, obviously not 100%, Jool is not Jupiter. But physics behing clouds movement stays same. Also I'd suggest a few layers of volumetric clouds for those who like to drop probes on chutes down there. No need to bother with new textures, just use Eve texture and put it under all others so it's almost invisible from orbit. Here are Jupiter layers:
  13. Awesome. I guess it isn't possbile to make central belt rotate faster without introducing additional 4096 texture? Also, speeds of each stripe need further adjustment. Center and other small belts should rotate at the highest speed, while that background texture should rotate at much slower speed. Coriolis force in actipn. Currently you have it reversed. Here's a nice anim with Jupiter: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PIA02863_-_Jupiter_surface_motion_animation_1fps.ogv
  14. Of course it does, it has a very high expansion ratio that results in a very efficient nozzle, in vacuum. It's vacuum-optimized. Real NERVA nozzles are calculated to have exhaust temp of just around 400 degrees celsius while the core can be as hot as 5000 celsius:
  15. Okay, I'm graduating this winter as AE engineer. I guess you're mostly interested in external visible parts? I can recommend you this site: http://buran.ru/htm/homepage.htm It's mstly in Russian, with English version being stubby but google translate will allow you to find pictures. I'm looking through it in search for elevon details right now. EDIT: Here it is! http://buran.ru/htm/wings.htm EDIT2: The fuselage around canards and tail fin would mopst probably be flattened out, like here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dirkjankraan/5268467716/ That is Boeing 757, like most of other jets it has adjustable elevator that can rotate around horizontal axis to act as trimmer. Heatshield tiling would also be beavily reinforced, as these areas are always very hot on reentry.
  16. That's just awesome. I'd suggest making those streaks on dark belts brighter, like in previous pic tho.
  17. Good, I'll post what I get. I curently use ancient Astronomer's pack but it is relly ancient, and for some reason Eve is cloudless. And I'm focusing on Eve now. As for DDS - I generally use Paint.NET for simple edits and recolors, and it supports DDS natively. For more complex edits I use GIMP, don't remember if it supports DDS. But AFAIL the best way to make colorful clouds is to have white texture and color them in config. That's what I did to Astronomer's Jool.
  18. I was experimenting with jool as well a while back - and I must admit that narrow strips of sandy-brownish-orange looks just awesome. If I had your awesome textures I'd try making those two wide dark strips at mid latitudes that color. Also, extreme poles.
  19. Well, I like the mun we now have. But IMO of you somehow make terrain cast shadows it would instantly solve the problem of terminator and a few more.
  20. One question - why doesn't Scatterer effect show up on top of EVE clouds? CLouds all the way up to horison look weird, especially when there are some mountains on the horizon. I use old .25 EVE. New one is too buggy for me.
  21. My friend has such gun. Freakin heavy and has uncomfortable balance, I must say.
  22. Well, I've had the same idea few times Good, I'll install CLS and this one, always wanted to give CLS a try. I recommend you to post pics tho, as "no pics no clicks". Also, put a link to CLS comewhere there.
  23. Okay, seems I've updated in some stupid way... Now I have RPM. Airlocks have no transparency. And doors on the inside do have windows on them. ALso, outer door looks different from inside and outside. Windows of profiled airlock ar enot transparent from both sides as well. Other than that, it's simply amazing. I suggest you making all docking ports have transparent windows, and make them transparent on modules as well. This way you'll be able to see one pod from another.
