  1. Your version is better oc, but... Get out of my mind! lol
  2. You have found a cool way to use the stock texture visor limitations, congrats. Btw, you use my suits (some parts still remain there), so would be nice if you credit the originals.
  3. This is the thread about the development of the new version of EVE. The difference and the topic, in some way, is how this version does the old things, and how does a lot of new things.
  4. This is simply one of the new best things around. I love it. bac9 does it again! Many, many thanks.
  5. I had that type of errors usually and I think as you before, but is not buggy, it's just high sensitive with typo mistakes. An extra comma, or a point in a wrong place when you are changing values, can turn all down. The atmos needs to be reworked (turns wrong to darkness and so on) as Rbray said some pages ago.
  6. There are some type of error, somewhere, in your EVE's .cfg files.
  7. Seems like Eve it's turning into much more interesting place to visit... I'm defining the final aspect in most of the planets. Almost all is new or modified. Last stop: Duna. Later the last adjustments and then i'll be finished the planned part. I think that Environmental Visual Enhancements will be updated soon. Prepare your eyes for the rainbows tears.
  8. I have a suggestion. Would be possible to add a small fade at the end of the particle's life? Right now the particle just disappears. That small change is maybe subtle, but could be very noticeable in terms of consistency in the particle system.
  9. Seeing my achievements right now, I think I should write a proper review about the last version of the overhaul... A lot of my first impressions are wrong. Btw, I don't know how I do it (I'm searching the concrete change ) but seems that I have auroras working on dark side (of course not when PlanetShine do his work right, then the black is back).
  10. You can do that now, in fact I have a similar clouds config right now. But you can't see the effect clearly from space. And I'm afraid that is quite hard, for not to say impossible. We have two problems here: 1º. (Non from EVE) The two cameras system from KSP... You see one thing from scaled space, and another for the rest. That is why we suffer it (imho) terrible gaps in the change of the view. 2º. (From EVE in some way, because in reality it's a problem in all volumetrics systems) Is quite impossible to achieve a particle system enough good and not too expensive to cover all the globe Probably nothing that Rbray can solve by his own. So the easiest way to get that effect is using very-well-done normal maps for the clouds, as was possible to do some EVE versions ago. But that, again, under the new system will be quite expensive in performance terms... Yeah, I said that too. Will be quite interesting, specialy in planets as Eve, with dense atmosphere and so on...
  11. Yeah, I'm proposing precisely that to Rbray from a few pages ago. But I assume that is not easy, because that's a great change in the particle system. Anyway, I think the new system is quite flexible, right now.
  12. All particles "rotates", I think. I guess that's how Rbray simulate the volumetrics clouds, so all particles seems to spin when you move around. Plus, if you use "snow" particles in the poles the effect is more obvious, because the poles are the texture's pivot points.
  13. Stacked 2D layers, yes. And works pretty cool, imho.
  14. It's done. That pic looks pretty similar to my poles on Kerbin. I'm gonna try to post a few new pics later. Right now I have a few new things like geisers and ice steams on Eeloo; snow in Kerbin, Duna and Laythe; tornados in Kerbin, Duna and Eve; atmo particles in Kerbin... I have even lightnings, from clouds to ground. But I can't make them blink, atm. For real Rbray, this new version is a geniality. Eternal Kudos.
  15. None of this new particle effects, among much more things, can be done in the old Eve system. Imho, the author of KWS should have supported to Rbray in the development of EVE, instead of doing a fork. I'm afraid that I'm busy enough with this... Any new (environmental) proyect would be probably to RSS, but for the moment pingopete is doing a great, great work there, so don't expect any related. And well.. We are very close to 2015 over here... We made it, we reach the future! Happy New Year to everyone!
  16. It's done. (was another little surprise) Plus, I'm requesting to Rbray for the possibility of a way to create rays.
  17. New thing possible with this new version. Here (WIP) tornados on Eve's surface. Static, for the moment. Any chance to get an "easy way" to link layers? Or should we start to do the maths? EDIT: I have a new small request... could be possible that if a 2D layer has a specific texture detail (only in that case), the particles and the shadows appear from the detail texture pattern, instead from the macro layer? This could be a little inconvenience in some punctual cases, but much more accurate and with better look if you have good texture details. Plus, this could allow to create a lot of new effects, like realistic lightnings or maybe even eruptions, just with a few new small textures and particles. I have pretty cool lightning particles in-game right now, but they just can be moved around (can't blink).
  18. The new version seems to make much better reflections, imho. Like more coherent. In a standard KSP seems to run perfectly (checked). But the problem with the EVE overhaul (atmos and clouds) still persist. I'm quite sure that is not a TRReflection problem at all, because you can see the broken atmo over perfectly reflected buldings or ships, as example. I think that Rbray is not over yet with the new atmo system, so maybe this is temporal. Or maybe can't be avoided. That is why I'm wondering if it's possible to avoid the EVE "layers" in the reflection. Don't know... I don't want to push too much, atm your reflections are simply beautiful, works perfectly and my complaints are based in a WIP. I just hope you don't feel very pressed by my comments about this. Thanks for your work Shaw, is amazing.
  19. I'm very, very pleased with the new reflections. Truly pretty, impressive and seems to be performance friendly. But I'm having huge inconsistencies in the reflections of my dev install (specially landed) probably caused by the new EVE version (wip yet). I don't know if this happens in the official release (7-x) too. I say "probably caused by EVE" because the cube layers seem to remain consistent in the ground, but the reflection appears with black spaces in the sky (atmo, clouds and particles). I'm wondering, if this can't be solved... can we at least get the reflection without this details (I mean, a reflection of the sky without the clouds)?
