Mikki
I follow this comic whenever i find some time, and it becomes better and better! Great work, nice pictures of the environment and interesting rockets all around! Cheers Mikki
Elowiny
Yay! Chapter 2! I missed this amazing comic sooo much! Also, the Kerbal Spaceship Zonkers is pretty much the most amazing ship I've seen since a long time. How exactly does it constructs rockets in orbit? It uses the OSE Workshop mod, that allows parts to be built and assembled using KIS/KAS. The Zonkers can probably build small sats in orbit, but it has to set up camp on a moon to build anything larger. Anyway, here's chapter 22! Thanks a lot to @Alchemist for helping pinpoint the fuel imbalance issue on the K.S.S. Hardihood! Looking at the persistence file I found out that engine #3 was actually drawing fuel from two different stacks, as if one stack had two different engines attached to the same node, while another had none. Detching and reattaching the engines using KAS resetted the part connections and actually provided an in-game fix for the issue. Now engine #3 is drawing fuel from stack #4, while engine #4 draws from stack #3, which is pretty weird but it's good enough for my purposes, since fuel consumption is now balanced. Ok, that's quite a weird fuel cossfeed scheme, but at least it worked. Glad to have helped. Was somebody drunk in the VAB when assemblying this ship? SpaceplaneAddict
You guys should use astrobond's mammoth engine powered Eve SSTO. You could only use it from the tallest peak, but still, SSTO off EVE.

Elowiny
What resources mods are you using? I see much ores on the ore detection list! I wonder if more time-travelling kerbals will appear... Edited December 7, 2015 by Elowiny

Since I'm not using any life support mod, a lot of those won't be used, although I might roleplay some life support stuff, such as finding a water supply for bases. As for the time-travelling kerbals, stay tuned!

Alchemist
Misestimated capture delta v on faster intercept? I learned it the hard way. Had to send another ship to Moho to refuel. Actually, I don't think there's too much difference with Eve's gravity well. You must have had a very tight fuel budget. What I once really misestimated about Gilly, though, was insertion delta v there. I mean, I thought it's about the same as Minmus with the orbit this high. Turned out to be more like with the Mun. Now the real question is which ship has the mining equipment and how to get it to Gilly.
smjjames
*starts catching up with the comic resumption* NOOOOooooo! Bob died!? *reads next chapter* Oh he's okay. Also, neurotic bob is neurotic, lol.

Now the real question is which ship has the mining equipment and how to get it to Gilly. The equipment I sent earlier had pretty much the exact amount of fuel needed to reach Eve, but of course there had to be some course corrections, and some stuff ended up about 200 or 300 m/s short on delta-v. Reaching Gilly ended up taking less than reaching low Eve orbit (since the aerobraking "simulations" all ended up in tears). Good news is that the mining equipment made to Gilly. Bad news is that the depleted ships don't have docking ports, so they'll require a kerbal to install fuel pipes. I may have to fly the Hardihood to meet them... Yeah, I was also surprised at just how much dV difference there was between Gilly orbit and LEO. I actually started out in LEO with the intent of mining Gilly and almost didn't have enough to make it--fortunately I had enough different ships involved that I was able to change plans and find something that worked.
