Jeb isn't dead... Or, probably not. Remember what happened to the other kerbals who were orbiting Kerbin when it exploded? The ones from the other timelines?

Wasn't Stelrine also orbiting Kerbin at the time or at least still in the SoI? I'm not sure how much time actually elapsed between the Mun exploding and Kerbin itself exploding.

Wasn't she caught in the Munsplosion? I could've sworn she was.

She was caught in the blast, yes, but she got teleported to Eve somehow instead of to some alternate universe.

Whether Jeb got sent to an alternate universe or was teleported somewhere else in the system, us readers don't know right now.

Dire news indeed! Thanks Parkaboy for the recap of Fabien's story, and also for the convenient guide to "who's where". Val's speech is inspiring, but she may have made a mistake in not explicitly saying who's in charge at each location. If kerbs disagree, she won't even necessarily be awake to sort it out--and like she said, they have to stick together!

Yeah, something tells me that Val would be a bad lawyer...

She explicitly declined to name leaders, merely suggesting that each crew should choose their own, and work it out from there.  She has a lot of faith in her fellow survivors.

Makes sense anyways. Val is going into hibernation, plus all the Kerbals are so spread out, keeping a centralized command structure is near impossible to maintain. It made sense to declare each ship self governing and autonomous.

Dark Predictions and wild speculation!

1. The crew of the hardihood will undermine Bobs authority until he either gives up and jumps ship or maybe they make him.

2. The crew of feather base will continue experiencing medical problems until they are all incapacitated just short of implementing a solution to their micro gravity seizures.

3. There are two kerbals on eve but only one escape rocket with a capacity of one some one's getting stranded

4. If anyone can work out how to repopulate the kerbals without hampering productivity it would be the resident evil genius of the Zonkers and they are gonna need to cause...

5. Longburn doesn't stand a chance it's a boat of red shirts... Might as well say there are 22 kerbals left right now...

6. Jeb is thrown into the distant past and in order to find kerbin again and save it he gets his new alien friends to build and send out the monolithes competing the cycle.

I think Fabien is your absolute best character in this series. Excellently written

I guess that's probably because he's the most fleshed out character outside the "orange team"...

Roughly 5 days between the Mun and Kerbin explosions. Stelrine was probably transported a few days forward - as well as going from a munar suborbital trajectory to one on Eve.

You're definitely onto something here... on some of those points!

I just found this thread.... I started reading and then stopped.... dead.... no more.

I might be a bad bad person for saying this, but I hate bad grammar.

Sir..... respectfully....

"I bet him"
"he bet me"
"I bet you"
You bet me"

There is no such word as "betted"

Sorry.
