Is there an official name for the kerbal currency?

So we know the kerbal currency has the symbol √, is there any canonic info on how this monetary unit should be pronounced?

Like say if a kerbal were to sign a cheque to buy a house, you would expect him to write "four hundred and twenty five thousand roots"  on the cheque?

I call them spacebucks, same as in Galaxy Trucker and Spaceballs.

(I have long believed that Galaxy Trucker is just the distant future of Kerbalkind anyway. Small cartoony astronauts? Check. Cobling spaceships together out of spare parts? Check. Hilarious explosions when things go wrong? Check!)

Wow, that's close to what I call them, which is "Kerbytes"

So, is there eight kerbits to a kerbyte?

Usage notes

This is also called the "radical sign".

I say we call them Radicals! Lol.

Have you noticed there is an extra line in the funds symbol compared to the root sign? It is actually more of a monogram of the letters V and F. Could stand for virtual funds, although currecy symbols as often don't have a connection to the name as they do.

Very interesting! Never noticed that, I wonder what else V F might stand for? Any one have any ideas?
