cubinator
When you spend the better part of an hour trying to verify a claim that a flea can jump 100 cm in 0.002 seconds. (Conclusion: it seems a little sketchy.) Edited September 28, 2018 by cubinator I'll leave the fun math for you too

Delay
I thought of a "new" algorithm for the Rubik's cube... while sleeping. It saves exactly 1 turn (my goal here is not to solve the cube in the fastest way possible, but rather to come up with unique algorithms - completely by myself). So I guess "You Know You're A Nerd When:" you're spatial thinking is on point, even while you're sleeping?

Mad Rocket Scientist
When you teach yourself basic regex so you can check whether your 10 page English paper is any sentences starting with "This" or "The." Also when making two pages (beyond the 10) of citations is the easiest part. When you write a program for a graphing calculator to factor polynomials to double check your work on tests.
