What have you been the first to discover in KSP?

Have you ever discovered something new in KSP? Become the first to see an Easter Egg, awaken a new breed of Kraken, or exploit a feature for unconventional purposes?

For instance, I was the first (as far as I know) to build a submarine that sinks using ore tanks.

Provide evidence of your discovery (pictures, post link, etc.) Tell us all how you found what you did. Was it methodical experimentation, or blind luck?

I think I was the first but I found white lines on Minmus that extend around a 1km area and the OP I posted it on lasted for 4 pages, longer than any OP I have ever started.

I'm not familiar with this. Interesting.

Can you link your post?

I think I may have been the first to discover that the the supposed sun tracking of the foldable radiators (pre-1.0.5) didn't actually do anything.

...which made the radiators essentially useless for cooling ships that have solar heating issues.  Turns out it was a bug, and they fixed it for 1.0.5.  :)

Just today, I looked everywhere to see if anyone had reported something I found. The radially-attached lights have a stated power draw, and a mechanism to reduce their light output, but power draw does not reduce when you turn down the brightness. Not sure it would ever matter, but there you are

I may still be the only one to land an Asteroid on Kerbin using wings. I may forever be the only one, considering even I'm not dumb enough to try in the new atmo.

Well, I'm not dumb enough to try AGAIN.

No need for wings. You can throw an asteroid at the ground - I believe they either don't have a crash tolerance, or it's so ridiculously high it doesn't make any difference. Obviously post 1.0 heating is an issue, as you said. this was in 0.90

I never saw any reference to it anywhere, so I may have been the first to discover you can climb atop the eyeball of the dead kraken and plant a flag there...

And so the Monster chased them from planet to planet, and moon to moon, until Val, in an act of utter desperation, whipped out a flag pole and poked the beast in the eye, thus slaying the mighty Kraken with a pointy stick!!!

hehehehe

I'm probably not the first, but I kinda pioneered using type E wings set sideways (NOT lengthwise like fins) instead of airbrakes on the back end of Eve landers to slow down and keep pointed the right way.  Crazy high heat tolerance and drag for slowing down, just have to wrap it in a fairing for Kerbin launch.

I might have been the first to use the tiny finds backwards on my reentry craft to add stability. I'll have to post a pic when I get home. I'd not seen anyone else do that. Been doing it since the new aero was first introduced

Im probably the first person to ever glitch out a kerbal so much that they not only get accelerated to 100 times the speed of light, but that they actually are also accelerating, even during the 100000 timewarp. After the second year Val has now gotten to 300 times the speed of light.

Oh I know. I wasn't going for "get the asteroid on the ground" though. That's boring. I was going for "Make a plane out of an asteroid."
