So, by what everyone tells me, the only thing to to is have a rover race in a deep canyon. Who even does that? Why would you do a rover race by yourself? Are you that lonely?

You can also mine the asteroids in orbit...

Make a cool surface base...

Make an interplanetary gas station for trips to Eeloo and Jool...

Make a mining operation in the canyons...

Make a tourist depot by the Canyons...

Take a rest stop and admire the beauty that is Dres...

You didn't answer my question. Why would ANYONE do a rover race by themselves? Are people THAT lonely?

The Mun has a bunch of rolling hills and small craters.

Duna is just flat.

Every other planet is a mixture of rolling hills and small craters, with some shallow cliffs.

Can we at least be thankful that we have a planet with kilometer-high, steep-as-hell canyons, and the lowest gravity of any parent body in the Kerbol system so that we can leap around said canyons? Its craters are very deep, its terrain is jagged, and it has a freaking belt of MOVABLE ASTEROIDS.

Why isn't this more famous than flat Duna, or Eve and Laythe (which are just equivalents of Kerbin, with different shaders), or Moho (not much, except of a single, tiny hole.)

And you went off topic. I was talking about how nice the terrain was. I said absolutely nothing about rover races. As for racing- when the choice goes between

a) zipping through tight canyons on DMP, on Dres.

b) slowly rolling over a hill on another planet.

then I'd choose option a.

Actually, I have had some luck making a moon for Dres in a planet pack that I haven't finished yet. Long story short - it has a very smooth surface...

Oh well, my first 3 kerb mission outside of Kerbin's SOI was actually to Dres...

That's something i'd love to see, someone do a sort of pod race through the Dres canyons.
