A Rabid Dingo
Hi Gameslinx! I made an account on the forums just to comment on how fantastic this planet pack is, I'm super impressed by how incredible it is. I've only explored the Gaia system thus far, though I do have a probe on its way out to Olu'um! It's absolutely astonishing that you've done so much stuff to the game. I do have one problem with the pack, though. My log is throwing up errors that Scatterer can't find the sunflare for Olu'um or the Sun, and it seems to be crashing the game on me. I had a look in the GPO folder and I see a scatterer config folder, but it only has a folder for Ursa Minor (with Ursa_G and Ursa_L subfolders). Am I missing a file or two off of CKAN or what? Spoiler [LOG 21:09:50.050] [Scatterer] Custom sunflare cannot be added to Olu'um System.IO.IsolatedStorage.IsolatedStorageException: Could not find file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\sunSpikes.png". at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean anonymous, FileOptions options) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.File.OpenRead (System.String path) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.File.ReadAllBytes (System.String path) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at scatterer.SunFlare.start () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at scatterer.Core.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 I copy-pasted the relevant section into a spoiler above, but I can find a way to get you full logs if you want. Or just direct me to the folder that the sunflares are -supposed- to be in, so I can check it's all intact!

linuxgurugamer
Would it be possible to combine this with GPP? I realize that one of the home planets needs to removed, but other than that, would it work? And if so, how do I remove the home planet from this? If you wanted Gael as your homeworld, remove Gaia.cfg from GPO/Configs That should he gpp working but with all the chaotic orbits, you'd have to manually do things (or use GPP's other star system patch) I'm not sure how GPO and GPP compatibility works yet if I'm going to be perfectly honest

Brainpop14
Sorry about the long wait everyone. When we tried to activate our hyperdrive it overloaded. We originally thought we could fix it ourselves, but the problem was more serious than we thought. We had to travel at sublight speed back to Gaia to get it fixed. While we were there we got a few more modifications to our ship and the same time. Also before we head out to the Olu'um system we picked up an escort ship! Thanks again to @StinkyAce for hooking us up with this vessel. The Enterprise will scout the system ahead of time for us, and then we will come in and do the exploration. Brainpop14
Used slingshot maneuver around The Sun to pick up enough speed to get to Olu'um quickly and man did that work! We are now here and getting ready to take planetary scans of all the bodies here. Once it's safe we will call up the CR-90 to come do all the real exploration. JadeOfMaar
@Gameslinx @linuxgurugamer To add GPO to GPP but keep Gael as the homeworld, GPP Secondary would need to be installed and Gael.cfg (within GPP_Secondary's folder, not GPP's main folder) would need to be changed so it properly spawns (as now it's treated as a moon: Sun -> Ciro -> Gael; see Sun -> Sonnah -> Kerbin in New Horizons). This in addition to deleting Gaia from GPO should be what is needed. Expect the contract system and science archives to have a problem with this. This is the easier of two options. The other option is to patch GPO (and all the stock planets, and possibly all their scatterer configs) to load as the remote star system, and delete GPP's Kopernicus config. JadeOfMaar
Just now, linuxgurugamer said: More work than I have time to do right now, I'm afraid. That's the kind of answer I expect (for the second option). The first option should be a piece of cake (install this, copy-paste this, delete that, case closed) because GPP Secondary already does a lot for you already. I can test it soon. Jetski
Hi @Gameslinx I traced the problem out with the Linux version, and I'm getting the following errors. It looks like the capitalization on the filenames is slightly different than what's in the config files. Mostly stuff like Dread_Color.dds instead of Dread_color.dds. This is consistent with the problems we had before with Linux, and is a result of Linux file system being much more persnickety than Windows, and insisting on case sensitivity on filenames. Here's the list of filenames it's looking for. As a science experiment, I'm going to rename each file to match the case sensitive name here. I'll let you know if it works Spoiler [LOG 14:50:13.871] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Dread_color.dds [LOG 14:50:17.203] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Dreidos_color.dds [LOG 14:50:19.004] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Flak_color.dds [LOG 14:50:25.077] [Kopernicus] LoadRestOfReader reallocating buffer to 33554432 [LOG 14:50:25.506] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Gaia_Height.png [LOG 14:50:39.876] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Decals/Kibbos2_color.png [LOG 14:50:39.876] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Decals/Kibbos2.png [LOG 14:50:45.007] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Olemut_color.dds [LOG 14:50:46.872] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Quarta_height.png [LOG 14:50:49.309] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Scorch_color.dds [LOG 14:50:55.155] [Kopernicus]: texture does not exist! /home/jetski/Games/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../GameData/GPO/PluginData/Sonus_Color.dds Edit: Yep that did it. So any Linux user just needs to carefully rename the files here in the spoiler, and it loads up just fine. For Example, rename Olemut_Color.dds to match the filename above: Olemut_color.dds. Maybe Gameslinx can edit the config file or something next update, I'm sure there's a simpler solution. But I'm happy, and loading up the new solar system! Coming in and plotting a course for Verdina. Arrived and prepping for landing and they weren't kidding about it being hot here! Landed and it is really hot here!
