This is just the perfect time for the forum to start throwing Bad Gateway errors.

Trying to add to the post now that I've seen it go through, though: That was spectacular to watch. I thought the whole base would be done for when the side of the rocket caught fire, but then it was caught and the absolutely insane idea seems to have worked like it should. Madness, true madness.

I have ZERO words! They [redacted] caught the [redacted] booster!

It must have been so hard for the hosts not to swear during this. What a sight. What a magnificent sight.

Oh, and Starship is in orbit. That happened too. Anybody know where it's heading? Hawaii again, I presume?

How many times will the whole industry go "eeerm what you are proposing is simply not possible" only for Spacex to nail it as they described that they will do.

They said Indian ocean if I heard correct in the coverage

That was just freaking incredible!!!! Especially to catch it on the first try.

Oh good, it looks like the vent fires are finally out.

E: I'm glad I'm usually up by 4:30 for work, so I was naturally waking up before 5am to catch this. And I need to drive my kid to work for 6am anyways, then take the dog for her run ("night ops") so at best I'll have to watch the entry on my phone, instead of on the TV like the launch...

The Chris Bergin - NSF feed was a dud.  I've switched VPN to North America, but have yet to see anything.

(I'm looking at a SpaceX feed now which shows Starship at 201km altitude 18m into the flight. )

OK, so caught up now.

For a moment it looked like the engines were going to hit the tower sideways, but holy crap that was smooth.

Incredible. 300 tons of flaming steel coming in supersonic, and they catch it mid air.
